Amazing Paper Grace Quilty Friends

I have another card to share with you today featuring the beautiful Amazing Paper Grace Home Sweet Quilt Collection by Becca Feeken. This collection is so versatile and can be used in so many different ways. Today I am using the other quilt pattern from the Amazing Paper Grace Log Cabin and Flower Mini Quilts in the ‘eclipse’ technique where the pattern is raised rather than just an inlay design. The ‘eclipse’ technique is very simple and uses stacked dies to raise the shape above the rest of the card to create a shadow. This technique also reminds me of a video where twine was added to a leather bound manuscript to create a raised pattern on the manuscript front. The stitched edges of the inlaid pieces also reinforce the effect I was trying to achieve.

You can see the other card I have made using the same die here.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project:

My base card is 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and I have layered a slightly smaller plain card on top. I have die cut the largest postage edge die from the Amazing Paper Grace Square Postage Edge Dies out of white cardstock and layered onto the front of the card with foam. I then die cut the pretty background paper using the coordinating plain stitch edge die from the same set and adhered it to the front of the postage edge die. I die cut the second largest picot edge die from the Amazing Paper Grace Square Picot Petite Edge Dies in white cardstock and adhered it over the pattern paper.

To create the ‘quilt’ I have die cut a plain base out of white cardstock. I die cut three ‘quilt’ dies using the outline and inner dies from white cardstock. I stacked the three outline dies together and adhered it to ‘quilt’ base. I then die cut the ‘quilt’ from the pattern paper using the inner and frame dies. The outline was added to the stacked white dies and then I inlaid the inner pieces to the ‘quilt’ and this was added to the front of the card.

I stamped the sentiment from the Amazing Paper Grace Quilty Hugs Sentiment Stamp set onto white cardstock and die cut it with the sentiment die from the Amazing Paper Grace Filigree Eight Point Star Dies and adhered this to the front of the card as shown with foam strips.

To complete the card I have handcrafted roses from the Amazing Paper Grace Candlewick Rosebud dies and die cut the leaves from green cardstock. The leaves have been lacquered with 3D Crystal Lacquer and I have added Ultrafine Crystal glitter to the roses with clear gloss gel medium.
