I love this photograph of Solitarie Rose. This photo was taken at the Lady Norwood Rose Gardens in Wellington. It was a very warm and sunny day and the light was great for taking photos.

Organising photographs with the help of the Power Sort Boxes
Welcome back
I have been very busy organising all my son’s photos from when he was first born to the present day (23 + years to be precise – but better late than never). It has been a very long process as you can imagine, but so important to do this prior to placing them in his album. It makes it a lot easier to then sort out the photos to put on layouts in a chronological order that makes sense, as then we can see him growing up before our eyes in his photo record. This is what scrapbooking or memory keeping is all about – recording our memories in a meaningful way that makes sense. The embellishments and decorations are a creative way of recording our memories so that it enhances what the photos are telling us.
The power sort boxes are great, especially with the little compartments taking 250 photos each. I had another cheap box from the Warehouse, but found as I went through photos it was harder to keep the remaining photos neat and tidy in the box. Plus when you drop the box the photos become disorganised again so you have to reorganise your photos again. Not a job I like to do twice! I like the elastic hoops on the sides to keep the lid on the box securely so you don’t have to start again if you drop the box. Also, I can take the small compartments out with me when I go to Scrapbook Corner and other workshops. I find using the dividers great as well to divide up the different years and events. And they are reusable.
If you would like further information about the Power Sort Boxes please feel free to contact me.

Making daisies
Welcome
Today I have been experimenting with the Creative Memories Place-n-Punch Blossom punch and snowflake punch to make a daisy and am pleased with the results:
To make the daisy I have used the following materials:
Place’n’Punch – Blossom
Snowflake Mini Pocket Punch
White cardstock
Scrap yellow cardstock
Tape runner
CM All Purpose Scissors
Instructions:
1) Cut two flowers out of the Place-n-Punch Blossom punch
2) Cut almost to the middle of the flower along the valleys of the flower.
3) Fold up the petals of the flowers towards the centre to create some dimension.
4) Using the tape runner place one flower over the other making sure the flowers overlap.
5) Punch the centre of the flower using the Snowflake Mini Pocket Punch out of yellow cardstock and place in the middle using the tape runner.
I could also have used the Border Maker -Twinkle Chain cartridge and used the centre of the patterns as well for the centre of the flower and used two to get a different effect.
As you can see the daisy is very simple to make and I hope you have fun with this idea.

Flower power photo cards
Welcome
I have now got my handcrafted cards for sale at The Wool Shop NZ in Avalon, Lower Hutt, so I have been playing around with using my StoryBook Creator 4.0 to make use some of my flower photos and the Enchanted Digital Kit. I have had these printed out and then using my tape runner I then mounted them on plain card stock to make the cards. They have come out well I think. These are so easy to do and very economical to make individualised cards. I have used flower photos as they are going to be sold, but any photo or image could be used.
I will put the instructions on my Digital Creations Page for your information.
I hope this inspires you to think outside the box and use your StoryBook Creator 4.0 in different and inventive ways. Feel free to leave comments about what you have created on this post. I would love to see what other people are doing.

Reflections of flowers
Welcome
I have been having a break from digital scrapbooking and have gone back to traditional scrapbooking. I have been working on putting my old flower photos in an album and for this I have been using the Reflections range from Creative Memories. The colours from this palette (along with the green apple and cloud cardstock) work really well with my flower photos – especially as I tend towards pink flowers and the greens and blues complement this colour so well. I use colour in the form of matting and background papers/cardstock to help highlight my photos.
Some of my photos were not great so I trimmed them down and I was then able to put 11 photos onto one page – see the second image down. I love using the circle and oval cutters as well to create a different shape for my layout.
Materials used:
Reflections Tone on Tone paper Pack
Reflections Paper Flowers
Reflections Storybox Photo Mats
Reflections Paper Ribbon
Enchanted Epoxy Stickers
Green apple card stock
Cloud card stock
Title Stickers – Simply Beautiful
12″ Rotary Trimmer – straight and wavy blades
Custom Cutting System – ovals
Precision Point Adhesive
Tape Runner
Jumbo Fancy Frame (unfortunately no longer available).
Border Maker – Twinkle Chain cartridge (unfortunately this cartridge is no longer available).

My calendar
Hello again.
Today I was thrilled to receive my calendar in the post and it has turned out beautiful. It did not take long from order to delivery either, especially at this time of the year as well. This month Creative Memories has a sale on calendars with 20% off so it is a great time to get them completed.
It is really important to not only organise, protect and save your photos, but actually bring your photos out into your life and share them with family and friends. There are so many different options now from printing them off to put into quick albums, traditional scrapbook albums or in Everyday Displays to doing photo books, page prints, posters and calendars. So make it your New Years resolution to get your photos sorted and start bringing them to life!
Here is a couple of examples of my pages:

More Enchanted flowers
Welcome back
I hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Year and are looking forward to achieving great things this year.
I am still working on my Enchanted Flowers album. I love the Enchanted range as it highlights the flowers so well. It is going to keep me going for quite some time. There is a wide range of papers and embellishments to choose from. I don’t have a great range of flowers in my garden so I am going to have to be quite creative with lots of rose photos so they don’t look the same! I do love roses though so I am happy to have them there. I will gradually build up the range of flowers in my garden as time, finances and health allow.
Anyway here is another two layouts and as usual I have included detailed instructions on how I have done these pages on my Digital Creations page.
All the best for 2013
