Elegant Handmade Congratulations Card

There’s something wonderfully special about creating a handmade card to celebrate an important milestone. For this congratulations card, I chose a soft and elegant colour palette of peach, white and gold, combining delicate decorative details with beautiful handcrafted flowers.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creation.

Design Inspiration

The inspiration for this card came from the soft peach tones of the roses. I wanted to create a design that felt feminine, elegant and celebratory, while allowing the flowers and intricate die-cut details to take centre stage.

The combination of peach, crisp white and touches of gold creates a warm and sophisticated look. Blush pearl accents add another subtle touch of elegance and help bring the different elements of the design together.

Design Details

I began by layering peach, white and gold cardstock to create a softly framed background. I used a pretty embossing folder on the top white layer to add that extra layer of depth and dimension. A delicate lacy background die was then added to provide more texture and an intricate decorative effect. The open pattern of the lace allows the layers beneath to peek through, adding depth without overwhelming the design.

At the centre of the card, I created a circular frame to showcase the sentiment. Inside the frame I added a circular doily motif to provide a base for the sentiment. The circle provides a lovely focal point and gives the hot foiled “Congratulations” sentiment plenty of space to shine. The beautiful gold foil ties in perfectly with the gold cardstock accents throughout the card.

Handcrafted Flowers

The floral arrangement was created using handcrafted dimensional peach roses for a soft, realistic appearance. I arranged the roses around the top left of the central frame, creating a gentle sweep to frame the sentiment.

To complement the flowers, I added an assortment of green foliage, tucking the leaves underneath and between the roses. The touches of green provide a natural contrast to the soft peach flowers while adding movement and balance to the arrangement.

Finishing Touches

To finish the design, I added blush pearl accents throughout the card. The pearls provide just the right amount of delicate sparkle and echo the soft, romantic colour palette.

The combination of intricate lace, shimmering gold foil, dimensional roses, foliage and pearls creates a card that feels both luxurious and beautifully handmade.

Final Thoughts

I love how this congratulations card came together. The soft peach, white and gold colour combination gives it a timeless elegance, while the handcrafted roses and delicate decorative details make it feel extra special.

It would be perfect for celebrating a new home, graduation, engagement, promotion, wedding or any wonderful achievement. Most importantly, it’s a handmade card created to let someone know just how special their achievement is.

Get Well Slimline Card – Soft Blue & White Elegance

Sometimes a handmade card is the perfect way to let someone know you’re thinking of them, especially when they’re not feeling their best. For this Get Well card, I wanted to create something soft, fresh and uplifting using a calming combination of blue and white.

The slimline format gave me plenty of space to build layers while keeping the overall design delicate and elegant. Decorative die cuts, a stamped sentiment and a beautifully detailed background all work together to create a card that feels both thoughtful and cheerful.

Design Inspiration

I chose a soft blue and white colour palette to give the card a peaceful and calming feel. The simplicity of these colours allows the decorative elements to stand out without making the design feel too busy.

The slimline card base provides a lovely long canvas for arranging the layers, making it possible to create a balanced design from top to bottom.

Building the Layers

I started with the slimline card base and layered soft blue cardstock before adding a decorative background layer to introduce texture and detail. The intricate pattern creates interest while still allowing plenty of white space around the focal elements.

Next, I added several layered die-cut pieces, carefully stacking them to create dimension. Layering the dies gives the card a more luxurious feel and helps draw the eye towards the centre of the design.

The combination of crisp white cardstock with soft blue layers keeps everything looking light and fresh.

Stamped Sentiment

For the focal point, I included a stamped sentiment, which adds a lovely handcrafted touch to the design. I used a strong black to enable the sentiment to really stand out and complement the blue and white colour combination.

Finishing Touches

The Get Well sentiment completes the card perfectly, keeping the message simple and heartfelt. The combination of the stamped image, decorative background and dimensional die cuts gives the card plenty of detail without taking away from the sentiment.

I love how the soft blue and white colours give this card such a peaceful appearance. It would be lovely to send to someone who needs a little encouragement and a reminder that they are being thought of.

Sending Warm Hugs of Comfort – Sympathy Card

Creating a sympathy card is always a delicate process. I wanted this design to convey a feeling of peace, comfort and kindness, using a soft colour palette of blue, green and white. The combination of delicate blue daisies, handcrafted flowers and elegant decorative details creates a gentle card to let someone know they are in your thoughts during a difficult time.

Design Inspiration

For this card, I chose soft blue, fresh green and crisp white as the main colour palette. Blue is such a calming and peaceful colour, making it a beautiful choice for a sympathy card.

The focal point of the design is the decorative arch frame, which creates an elegant setting for the handcrafted floral arrangement. Inside the frame, I added a graceful hot foiled swan bringing a sense of serenity and gentle beauty to the design.

The blue daisies add a lovely touch of softness and are complemented by the handcrafted flowers and green foliage. A delicate butterfly is nestled among the daisies gives movement and adds to the sense of nature. Together, the florals create a natural arrangement that frames the central elements without overwhelming them.

Decorative Details

To add texture and elegance to the background, I used a hot-foiled background on some light blue pattern paper, adding a beautiful touch of subtle shine and the feeling of light and movement on water. The foiling catches the light and adds an extra layer of sophistication while still keeping the overall design soft and understated.

The decorative arch frame helps draw the eye towards the centre of the card, while the swan adds those little details that make the design feel especially peaceful and meaningful.

I also enjoyed combining the dimensional handcrafted flowers with the more intricate die-cut elements. The layers and textures give the card plenty of interest while maintaining the calm feel that is so important for a sympathy card.

The Sentiment

The sentiment, “Sending warm hugs of comfort,” was heat embossed in silver to give it a beautifully finished appearance and then matted with silver cardstock. I chose this sentiment because it feels personal and caring, expressing warmth and support when words can often be difficult to find.

The embossed finish also complements the elegant foiled background, creating a subtle connection between the different metallic details throughout the card.

Finishing Touches

The final arrangement came together by carefully layering the blue daisies, handcrafted flowers and foliage around the decorative arch and sentiment strip. The butterfly adds a delicate finishing detail, while the swan brings a graceful and peaceful element to the scene.

I kept the colours soft and harmonious, allowing the white space and delicate details to work together rather than competing for attention.

Final Thoughts

I love how this card combines elegance with a gentle, comforting feel. The soft blue, green and white colour palette, handcrafted flowers, decorative arch, swan and butterfly all work together to create a peaceful sympathy card.

Just Saying Hello – An Elegant Blue, White & Gold Handmade Card

Sometimes the simplest message can be the most meaningful. This “Just Saying Hello” handmade card was created as a sweet little reminder that someone is thinking of you. I wanted the design to feel elegant and timeless, so I chose a classic combination of blue, white and gold, with plenty of delicate details to add that extra touch of luxury.

Design Inspiration

The colour palette was the starting point for this card. The combination of soft blue, crisp white and touches of gold creates a beautifully sophisticated look without making the card feel too formal.

I layered the blue and white cardstock to create a little dimension, then added decorative frames and motifs to bring some intricate detail to the design. The layered elements help draw the eye towards the centre of the card, where the sentiment takes pride of place.

The Sentiment

For the focal point, I created a decorative label featuring the sentiment “Just Saying Hello.” The words were heat embossed in gold, giving them a lovely raised finish and a beautiful metallic shine.

Gold heat embossing is such a simple way to add elegance to a handmade card, and it works particularly well against the soft blue and white layers.

Finishing Touches

A pretty blue ribbon bow adds a soft, feminine touch and complements the blue cardstock beautifully and a heart charm beneath the bow adds depth of feeling to the card. To finish the design, I added pearl accents, bringing a subtle touch of shimmer and sophistication to the decorative elements.

The combination of ribbon, pearls and gold embossing creates just enough sparkle while allowing the beautiful decorative die-cut details to remain the star of the design.

Final Thoughts

I love how this card shows that you don’t need a specific occasion to send someone a handmade card. Sometimes a simple “Just Saying Hello” is all that’s needed to brighten someone’s day.

The classic blue, white and gold colour combination, decorative layers, gold embossed sentiment, ribbon and pearls all come together to create a card that is elegant, thoughtful and perfect for sending a little hello to someone special.
