There’s something magical about creating Christmas cards in the middle of winter, and today I’m embracing all the festive joy with a cheerful Christmas in July project! This card combines classic Christmas colours of rich red, vibrant green and luxurious gold with a fun interactive snow globe shaker that captures the excitement of the season.

Design Inspiration

I wanted this card to feel like a nostalgic Christmas celebration, filled with all the elements that make the holiday so special. The snow globe shaker creates movement and sparkle, while the traditional colour palette brings timeless elegance and warmth.

Inside the globe is a shadow manta and reindeer scene, ready to deliver Christmas surprises. The shaker element adds a playful touch, with sparkling sequins dancing around the scene every time the card is moved. And front and centre is a stunning gold and red sleigh full of presents ready to be unwrapped.

The focal point of the card is the interactive snow globe, surrounded by festive embellishments that add depth and texture. A vibrant red poinsettia becomes the star floral element, complemented by lush green foliage that frames the design beautifully.

Touches of gold and glitter throughout the card add warmth and a luxurious finish, enhancing the traditional Christmas colour scheme. The bold “Oh What Fun” sentiment perfectly captures the excitement, laughter and joy that Christmas brings, making it an ideal greeting for family and friends.

For this card, I started with a beautifully embossed background to add texture and subtle dimension, creating a soft and luxurious foundation for the design. The rich gold and ivory colour palette brings a classic holiday feel, perfect for celebrating the magic of Christmas.

The focal point of the card is a fancy gold and ivory frame, which draws the eye inward to a charming festive scene. Nestled inside the frame is a graceful deer creating a peaceful woodland-inspired Christmas setting. Using foam tape on the frame adds depth and dimension to the frame.

Surrounding the frame is an arrangement of festive foliage, featuring handcrafted poinsettias, holly leaves, and fir branches. Gold and ivory birds among the foliage add depth and movement while enhancing the traditional Christmas feel of the design.

To complete the card, I added a bold Noel sentiment, tying everything together with a simple yet meaningful festive greeting.

There’s something so special about creating a card that simply lets someone know they’re in your thoughts. Today’s Thinking of You card combines soft pink handcrafted flowers with a fresh green and white colour palette for a timeless and elegant design.

Design Inspiration

The background features layered green and white elements that create a beautiful soft contrast while keeping the overall look clean and classic. I added a decorative edge detail to the front of the card to frame the design and bring extra texture and interest.

The delicate decorative oval on the front of the card becomes the focal point for the cluster of handcrafted pink flowers, accented with delicate green leaves for a fresh, natural feel. To enhance the elegance, I included a decorative flourish as well as pearl accents throughout the floral arrangement for a soft touch of shine.

A crisp white bow finishes the design perfectly, adding softness and balance while complementing the gentle colour palette. The combination of florals, pearls, and decorative details creates a heartfelt card that would be perfect for sending comfort, encouragement, or simply reminding someone they’re being thought of.

Simple & Sparkling Thank You Card with Hot Foiling

There’s something so special about a handmade thank you card—it turns a simple gesture into something truly meaningful. Today’s design is all about keeping things elegant and simple, while letting beautiful hot foiling and delicate florals do the talking.

Design Inspiration

For this card, I wanted to create a soft and refined look with just the right touch of sparkle. By combining traditional hot foiling with the stunning effect of reverse foiling, the result is a design that feels both modern and timeless.

The Copic coloured florals add a gentle, feminine touch, while the foiled details catch the light beautifully—perfect for a heartfelt “thank you.”

Card Details

  • Simple soft mint green, purple and silver colour combination
  • Hot foiling and reverse hot foiling show for a clean and elegant finish
  • Copic colouring of the hot foiled flowers dictate the colour combinations used
  • Hot foiled sentiment mounted on foam tape finishes the card to perfection

Creating the Card

I started with a white card base and added a soft mint green panel to the front to coordinate with the colours used on the flowers to really let the foiling shine. The background was kept simple, allowing the hot foiled elements to become the focal point without overwhelming the design.

The magic comes in with the hot foiling and reverse foiling techniques. The standard foiling gives that crisp, metallic shine, while the reverse foiling creates a softer, almost ethereal effect—like a subtle glow behind the design.

Layering the coloured floral images over the foiled background adds dimension and interest, while still keeping everything light and uncluttered.

Finishing Touches

To complete the card, I added:

  • Subtle sparkle with purple gems for a touch of elegance
  • A clean and simple hot foiled sentiment to tie everything together

The result is a card that feels polished and thoughtful without being overly complicated.
