Amazing Paper Grace March Die of the Month Blog Hop – Mini 3D Vignette Floral Mason Jar

It doesn’t take many steps past February to begin to ache for the stirrings of spring.  Blooming flowers are the earliest sign and we have something to get you started.  Today I’m introducing the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month for March 2021, Mini 3D Vignette Floral Mason Jar.

Becca Feeken of Amazing Paper Grace sent me these lovely dies to create with.Imagine kicking rocks as you walk down a sweet rural road, on one of the first days the weather hints that the seasons are starting to change.  You pick wildflowers and rush home to put them into a jar of water to keep them perky for the days to come.  This is the inspiration that struck Becca when she put together the flower and mason jar combination.  It’s so cute and sweet!!
This easy to assemble mason jar can contain anything, but today it holds layered flowers.  This flat side look is just like a real bouquet.  Glue them or layer them with foam tape to make a dramatic statement.  The mason jar can be left solid or cut like a frame for a shaker card the stems are simply threaded through each lid to secure them for arrangement.  If you’re partial to flat cards, use the filigree band with two brads to hold your stems! This makes a lovely card front bouquet, complete with stems.

There are 16 dies included in the Mini 3D Vignette Floral Mason Jar

My Project Today using Mini 3D Vignette Floral Mason Jar

I have made a 3D vignette card and a card with a shaker element to the jar. The flowers have been made using 160 LB flower shaping paper which enabled me to shape the flowers and leaves easily and also made the flowers very light for the 3D vignette card as well as the shaker card. The shaker elements are clear sequins and dew drops to give the effect of water in the jar.

Designer Tip:

Use heavy cardstock to make the 3D vignette card as it makes it more robust for holding the flowers.

Supplies:
Stamps:   I have used a old stamp from a magazine.
Paper: DMC Flower Shaping Paper, Neenah Solar Crest Cardstock
Ink: Ranger Archival ink – Magenta Hue, Violet, Library Green, Versamagic – Pretty Petunia, Distress Oxide ink – Mowed Grass
Accessories:  Amazing Paper Grace March 2021 Die of the Month – Mini 3D Vignette Floral Mason Jar, Amazing Paper Grace Scallop Façade Frame Etched Dies from Make a Scene Collection by Becca Feeken

Amazing Paper Grace Make a Scene – Wedded Bliss

Hi crafty friends!  It seems like we have been waiting for months for February to roll around.  We have been working in the background, holding our breath, tapping our feet and waiting on tippie toes to show you a new collection!  Ta-dah!!!  Today we are introducing a new Amazing Paper Grace Collection called Make A Scene!!!  It was designed by Becca Feeken and is available at Spellbinders.  Stay tuned for a video link at the bottom of the post. NOW, TO EXPLAIN THIS TO YOU . . . In the past, Becca has created several interactive collections . . remember 3D Vignettes and remember Shadowbox Vignettes?  One of the things Becca does, is she tries to create a new twist on interactive that you can also use with flat cards and with past collections. That means new material for your old material.

WHAT IS MAKE A SCENE? Make A Scene is an interactive card collection and a flat card collection, all in one – you choose based on your style.  The interactive portion is made with a card base that folds in six different layered scenery options.  The 3D card base folds flat but slides open to reveal a dimensional scene.  Since it has a 3D profile, the opened card makes quite a splash and can be set out on a desk for showing off.  The card base is huge and it offers you the chance to snag one of six scenes that cover many occasions.  If the six scenes are not your occasion du jour, then by all means dive into your huge stash of dies and insert your own contents.  The flat card portion is made with the individual scenes.  Each of the components for the scenes can be cut onto the top of a panel and used on a flat card or as part of a 3D Vignette or as part of a shadowbox scene. Today we are prepared to show you – each Creative Team Member has created both a 3D Card and a Flat Card so that you can see the best of both worlds!

My Projects for Today

I really love making elegant wedding cards and today I’m using the beautiful S4-1088 Amazing Paper Grace Wedded Bliss Scene Etched Dies from Make a Scene Collection by Becca Feeken for this wedding card. The gazebo is just so beautiful and I have created a romantic scene with the bride and groom under the gazebo with pretty pastel flowers cascading over the gazebo and fence on a very pretty lacy background using the Amazing Paper Grace Filigree Façade Frame Etched Dies from Make a Scene Collection by Becca Feeken. I have used fun foam and foam strips to create more dimension in this card to help highlight the wedding scene.

These cute birds and the delightful ribbon bow dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Holly Frame Gala Etched Dies Christmas Cascade Collection by Becca Feeken help create the feeling of the wedding festivities.

A quick video on how I have made this card.

How to Assemble the Make a Scene Interactive Base:

When you see the card base it will make total sense how this goes together.  Here is a quick start video to lay it all out for you.

Sending Love with Amazing Paper Grace Picot Petite

Amazing Paper Grace has gone back to her roots with classic sewing inspired motifs! Introducing the Picot Petite Collection!

Becca Feeken sent over these lovely dies for me to try.

Over time we’ve had lace-inspired designs and have loved the feel of Hemstitching and Candlewicking. Reminiscent of needlework and treasured handwork proudly displayed, Becca Feeken has developed another classic line of layering shapes that feel so much like tatting or picot crochet.  As you might imagine, these shapes are crisp, clean, and timeless. Whether you are simply adding a classic layer to a card or cutting an aperture to highlight a lovely sentiment – these shapes mix and match with other sewing inspired motifs as well as intricate backdrops.

Classic Shapes are Timeless

With each Classic Collection, Amazing Paper Grace creates the most popular die-cutting shapes in oval, round, square, and rectangles. Moreover, these classic shapes mix and match with Hemstitch Classics, Candlewick Classics, Elegant Twist Classics, and now Picot Petit.

The Inspiration behind Picot Petite

If you’ve ever seen tatting, the little loop produced along the edge is called a “picot”.  It’s this little loop that is the basis for the border on all of the Petite Picot shapes.  They are lovely as a backdrop for any other layerings as the little picot peeks out.  It’s just a subtle way to bring in the ways of classic needlework to give texture and dimension to the backdrop of our cards.

For this card I have layered up dies from this beautiful collecttion. The gorgeous Amazing Paper Grace Filigree Quartet Etched Dies from Picot Petite by Becca Feeken makes a stunning lacy background edged with the Amazing Paper Grace Picot Petite Squares Etched Dies Picot Petite Collection from Amazing Paper Grace by Becca Feeken.

I have just done a small tutorial on using different medium on the Amazing Paper Grace – Creative Encouragement Group on Facebook and one of the medium I used was 160 GSM vellum. Here I have used the Amazing Paper Grace Sweet Cottage Flowers Etched Dies 3D Vignette Mini Album Collection by Becca Feeken to create these flowers and used two layers of each size. For the leaves I have used the Amazing Paper Grace Cinch and Go IV set. The leaves were easy to made as the dies created all the texture and all I had to do was colour the leaves with Ranger Archival ink Vivid Chartreuse ink and shape lightly before adding around the flowers.

These are the dies that I have used to create this card:

The sentiment is from a retired set from Stampin Up – Rambling Rose

The Picot

For this card I have created a base with the beautiful Bella Clair lace edge dies (now retired) and the gorgeous Amazing Paper Grace Diamonetta Background Glimmer Hot Foil Plate from Delicate Impressions Collection by Becca Feeken. I then layered the Amazing Paper Grace Picot Petite Ovals Etched Dies Picot Petite Collection from Amazing Paper Grace by Becca Feeken and added the ovals to the card with some fun foam. I have also added a gold accent to highlight the picot edged dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Elegant Twist Ovals Etched Dies from the Elegant Twist Collection by Becca Feeken.

I have made the flowers using the Amazing Paper Grace Candlewick Rosebud Etched Dies Candlewick Sampler Collection by Becca Feeken along with the leaves. The small filler flowers are from the Amazing Paper Grace Elegant Infinity – APG Die of the Month Club which is still available for purchase.

The sentiment is from the Amazing Paper Grace Heart Felt Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set Sweet Cardlets by Becca Feeken. This is such a sweet set to use..

I love layering beautiful Amazing Paper Grace dies using white cardstock and here I have used three different die sets to create a stunning base for gorgeous handcrafted flowers.

For this card I have layered the Amazing Paper Grace Picot Petite Ovals Etched Dies Picot Petite Collection from Amazing Paper Grace by Becca Feeken over some very pretty Amazing Paper Grace Isadora Trinkets (retired) for a very elegant look. I have added a silver accent to highlight the picot edged dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Elegant Twist Ovals Etched Dies from the Elegant Twist Collection by Becca Feeken. To finish the base I have added the second flourish accent from the Isadora Trinkets die set to the bottom of the middle oval to place the flowers on.

I have made the flowers using the Amazing Paper Grace Cinch and Go Flowers III Etched Dies Elegant 3D Vignettes by Becca Feeken and the leaves are from the Amazing Paper Grace Cinch and Go IV Etched Dies Shadowbox by Becca Feeken sets. I have added silver leaves from the Amazing Paper Grace Cinch and Go Flowers III Etched Dies Elegant 3D Vignettes by Becca Feeken to tie the flowers to the colours of the card.

The sentiment is from a retired SOM Framed set from Close to My Heart which I have heat embossed in silver to complement the colours of the card.

A Delicate impressions Congratulations

Kia Ora Koutou

Welcome back.

Delicate Impressions Details

We’re excited to introduce another Glimmer Hot Foil collection! The Delicate Impressions Collection has five sets of Glimmer Hot Foil Plates. The fifth set, Heart Melt Sentiments, has four unique phrases with matching dies. The other four sets are designed to create borders and accents that can be used on cards from A2 to 5 x 7-inches. Each elegant motif can be layered with itself or mix with others in the same collection or beyond.

Glimmer Hot Foil Plates are metal plates used in the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System to transfer foil to paper through a combination of heat and pressure.  Roll the Glimmer machine base through your die cut machine to deliver its beautiful design. Refer to Compatibility Charts on Spellbinders’ website, to see if your machine is a match.

Today I would like to share with you another card created using the beautiful Delicate Impressions collection by Becca Feeken. I have started my card created a background using the Amazing Paper Grace Diamonetta Background Glimmer Hot Foil Plate from Delicate Impressions Collection by Becca Feeken.

I foiled the flowers from the Amazing Paper Grace Sweet Blooms Border Glimmer Hot Foil Plate from Delicate Impressions Collection by Becca Feeken onto Iris cardstock and then coloured them with Zig Clean Colour Brush Makers. This was so much easier than heat embossing! I trimmed the flowers and then arranged them on the panel as shown.

To complete the card I have added strips of gold cardstock on either side of the panel and added it to the card front over the gorgeous decorative die from the Amazing Paper Grace All Occasion Sentiments Stamp and Die Set Flourished Fretwork by Becca Feeken. The sentiment is from the very elegant Amazing Paper Grace Elegant Occasion Sentiments Glorious Glimmer Hot Foil Classic Plates by Becca Feeken. And to finish I have added a gold satin ribbon.

For an easy embossed background score the cardstock using a scoring board at 1/8″ spacing. This adds so much interest and dimension to the card base and allowing the embellishments to shine.

Other Products Used:

Neenah Solar White cardstock

Heartfelt Creations Lux Gold cardstock

Zig Clean Colour Brush Markers

Gold satin ribbon

I hope that I have inspired you to start creating with the stunning Delicate Impressions Glimmer Hot Foil plates.

Amazing Paper Grace January Die of the Month Blog Hop – Mini 3D Vignette Valentines Mailbox

Remember the days in grade school when you dreamed of all the little envelopes you would collect in your pouch from Valentine’s Day?  Well, we gotcha covered! Today I am introducing the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month for January 2021, the Mini 3D Vignette Valentines Mailbox.

Becca Feeken of Amazing Paper Grace sent me these wonderful dies to create with.

Sweet hearts and petite envelopes are a symbol of love.  The Amazing Paper Grace Mini 3D Vignette Valentines Mailbox harkens back to the days where you thought that the number of envelopes measured how loved you were.  No worries, this elegant mailbox holds a bouquet of enveloped surprises and is a clever way to hide some cute little messages.  Oh, and the front of the mailbox opens!  Becca uses the inspiration from a vintage mailbox as the basis for this elegant representation where romantic and cute go hand in hand.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a sweetheart this year.  After the holiday, this set can be used as a blue mailbox.  Did you notice it is a mini-sized 3D Vignette?! Built just like the grand sized vignettes that came before it, this little mini stands 4.75-inches tall and folds flat for mailing to your sweetheart!

There are 17 dies included in the Mini 3D Vignette Valentines Mailbox

My Project Today using Mini 3D Vignette Valentines Mailbox

I have made three projects today – a card, a 3D vignette and a mailbox box that holds some delicious heart shaped chocolates.

I thought the Amazing Paper Grace January 2021 Die of the Month – Mini 3D Vignette Valentines Mailbox die would create a cute little box that would be perfect for putting in a special treat for your valentine. The front opens up for a secret message and I have a blank back for your special message. I have wrapped some heart shaped chocolates and added some handcrafted roses using the Amazing Paper Grace Candlewick Rosebud Etched Dies Candlewick Sampler Collection by Becca Feeken, I love the sweet little bow from the Amazing Paper Grace Holly Frame Gala Etched Dies Christmas Cascade Collection by Becca Feeken and they added a cute little touch to the box.

For my card I have used the Amazing Paper Grace January 2021 Die of the Month – Mini 3D Vignette Valentines Mailbox die as a decorative background highlighting the pretty pattern paper and complemented by handcrafted roses using the Amazing Paper Grace Candlewick Rosebud Etched Dies Candlewick Sampler Collection by Becca Feeken, I have also added the decorative die from the Amazing Paper Grace All Occasion Sentiments Stamp and Die Set Flourished Fretwork by Becca Feeken for more interest behind the mailbox. The other flowers and leaves I have used are from the Amazing Paper Grace Cinch and Go IV Etched Dies Shadowbox by Becca Feeken and the Amazing Paper Grace Cinch and Go Flowers III Etched Dies Elegant 3D Vignettes by Becca Feeken. The tag is from a retired Spellbinders die set – A2 Valiant Honour.

The 3D vignette evokes an image of a celebration in a very romantic setting following a receipt of a valentine. Who wouldn’t love to receive a valentine beneath the Eiffel Tower! The hearts and mail images further enhance the feeling of love and celebration in the air!

Designer Tip:

I found it really important to watch Becca’s videos and read the instructions on how to create 3D vignette cards and taking my time making the 3D vignette.

Slimline cards are very in at the moment and today I am sharing a slimline card made with the beautiful Amazing Paper Grace Filigree Crescent Band Glimmer Hot Foil Plate from Delicate Impressions Collection by Becca Feeken. This is another versatile set that can be used in so many different ways.

I love how the different dies from Amazing Paper Grace layer so elegantly together and here I have used the Picot Petite Circles Etched Dies Picot Petite Collection from Amazing Paper Grace by Becca Feeken and the Elegant Twist Circles Etched Dies from the Elegant Twist Collection by Becca Feeken sets to highlight the birthday greeting.

All the flowers have been handcrafted using Amazing Paper Grace flower dies. The larger flowers have been created using the Cinch and Go Flowers III Etched Dies Elegant 3D Vignettes by Becca Feeken dies. You can make so many different flowers from this die set and I have made these flowers relatively simple.

The small flower die is from the Cinch and Go V Etched Dies Vintage Treasures by Becca Feeken set and that is another favourite set for small filler flowers.
