Today I’m sharing a blue and white card ensemble featuring a coordinating gift box — because special occasions deserve beautiful presentation.
I kept the palette classic with crisp white and soft blue layers, allowing the intricate decorative dies to really shine. The detailed die cuts create depth and texture, giving the card that timeless, heirloom feel that works so beautifully for meaningful celebrations.
To elevate the presentation, I created a matching box using the same blue and white colour scheme and decorative elements. Repeating the die cuts and florals on the lid creates a cohesive look, making the set feel thoughtfully designed from start to finish.
This ensemble would be perfect for a birthday, anniversary, or any milestone celebration — a beautiful keepsake long after the special day has passed.
Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creation.
Design Inspiration
This blue and white ensemble was inspired by the timeless elegance of classic porcelain and heirloom keepsakes. I wanted the design to feel refined and graceful, while still soft and celebratory.
The intricate decorative dies became the foundation of the project — their delicate detail creates a sense of sophistication and texture without needing bold colour. By keeping the palette limited to blue and white, the focus remains on layering, dimension, and fine detail.
The florals were added to bring warmth and movement to the structured die cuts. Their soft shaping contrasts beautifully with the ornate background elements, creating balance within the design. The coordinating bow enhances that softness and adds a gentle, feminine finish.
Repeating the same elements on both the card and coordinating box was intentional — it creates a cohesive ensemble that feels thoughtfully curated and perfect for a meaningful celebration.
Sometimes simplicity in colour allows the details to truly shine, and this project is a perfect example of how classic combinations never go out of style.
Design Highlights:
- Layered blue and white cardstock
- Ornate decorative die cuts for texture and detail
- Dimensional floral elements
- Coordinating bow accent
- Elegant sentiment to celebrate a special day
This ensemble is a beautiful reminder that classic colours and intricate details never go out of style.
Step-by-Step
Card
- Create a white card base and layer with blue cardstock.
- Die cut the decorative background from white cardstock and adhere over the blue panel using foam adhesive.
- Add a pretty white decorative frame over a blue shadow with foam adhesive for depth and dimension.
- Stamp the sentiment onto white cardstock and die cut a panel using the same decorative edge as the frame and add to the centre of the card.
- Add a blue paper bow to one corner of the panel.
- Die cut and shape the floral elements, then layer and arrange to cascade over the bow, frame and inner panel.
- Finish with pearls to highlight the decorative dies.
Coordinating Box
- Construct the box base and lid from sturdy blue cardstock.
- Die cut the same decorative elements used on the card to maintain continuity.
- Add a matching bow for a cohesive, elegant finish and arrange florals on the lid to mirror the card design.
Finishing Touches
To complete the ensemble, I added soft embellishments to enhance the elegant feel without overwhelming the design. A scattering of pearls was placed around the florals to draw the eye and add subtle texture.
I lightly shaped the petals once more after adhering them to ensure natural dimension and movement. The coordinating bow was adjusted and fluffed for fullness, creating a soft focal accent that balances the intricate die work.
Finally, I checked the overall composition for symmetry and spacing, ensuring the decorative elements on both the card and coordinating box felt cohesive and harmonious.
These small details truly elevate the finished project and give the entire blue and white ensemble a beautifully refined presentation — perfect for celebrating a special day.
Design Tip.
Emboss your decorative dies to achieve a dimensional lacy finish to the die cuts.
Final Thoughts
This blue and white card and coordinating box ensemble is a beautiful reminder that classic colour combinations and intricate details never lose their appeal. By focusing on layering, texture, and delicate die cuts, the design feels elegant without being overpowering.
I especially love how repeating the decorative elements across both the card and box creates a cohesive and thoughtfully curated presentation. It transforms the project from a simple handmade card into a meaningful keepsake perfect for celebrating a special day.
