CTMH Fabulously You

Welcome back.

I apologise for being MIA again but I was spending last weekend working on my next blog hops featuring the June SOTM set and the Jubilee paper pack.  After scrapbooking I needed to get back to my cardmaking.

So today I have made some cards using the gorgeous stamp set Fabulously You ((C1533).  This set is so versatile and I have tried to do three different versions to demonstrate this.

DSCF1395

This card has been made using the basic pattern from Make It From Your Heart Volume 2 page 46.  I have stamped the main image using Olive ink onto White Daisy cardstock and then distressed the image with Cashmere ink.  I have done the same with the diamond patterned stamp on the band.  The main image has been matted with Olive cardstock.  I had a leaf left over from the Timberline layout and it fitted beautifully with the Olive ink and cardstock.  The card was completed with a bow made with the Topiary mini chevron ribbon and a couple of green epoxy bubbles.  The card base I have used is Colonial White despite using White Daisy cardstock for stamping the images.  But because I have distressed the White Daisy cardstock with Cashmere ink it has given it an aged vintagey look.

CTMH Fabulous You meeting Ariana

This card has been made using the beautiful blue striped paper from the Ariana paper pack and the zip strip from the paper.  The image of the cardinal has been stamped using Outdoor Denim on a base card measuring 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches and then stamped another three times on scrap White Daisy cardstock.  I have cut out three flowers from one of the images, then the two top images from the second image and finally the top flower out of the final image.  These have been layered on the original image using the Tombow adhesive – I have not used foam tape as I did not want too much height on the image.  I have used the light Indian Corn Blue marker to colour the petals and a Buttercup marker for the centre.  I then placed sparkles in the middle and just touched them with the Buttercup marker.  The image was then matted onto Outdoor Denim cardstock and placed on the card base.  I have stamped the sentiment from the Fabulous You stamp set onto White Daisy cardstock and then matted it with Outdoor Denim cardstock.

DSCF1390I have kept this card deliberately two-toned.  I finally got the Stripe embossing folder and I love the fact that it has a split in the centre and I can partially emboss the cardstock.  Here I have left 2 inches un-embossed and then matted the White Daisy cardstock onto Outdoor Denim cardstock.  The band has been stamped with Outdoor Denim using the diamond stamp from the Fabulous You stamp set and then matted with Outdoor Denim and placed just above the edge of the embossing.  The bird image has been stamped with Outdoor Denim ink on White Daisy cardstock and matted with Outdoor Denim cardstock.  The Happy Birthday from the Holiday Tags stamp set was stamp on a banner that I had cut using my Cricut machine using the Art Philosophy cartridge.  I then matted it with some Outdoor Denim cardstock and placed on the card.  I finished this off with some blue epoxy bubbles.

Materials used:

Cardstock – Olive, White Daisy, Outdoor Denim, Ponderosa Green,

Paper – Ariana paper pack

Stamp Sets – Fabulous You, Holiday Tags

Inks – Outdoor Denim, Olive, Cashmere

Embossing Folder – stripe

Liquid glass

Green and Blue Epoxy bubbles

Markers – Buttercup, Indian Corn Blue

Sparkles – clear and bitty

Cricut cartridge – Art Philosophy

I hope that you all have a good week.

CTMH Lollydoodle cards

Welcome back

I would like to wish all mothers a Happy Mother’s Day and I hope that you all had a good day.

This week I have been playing with Lollydoodle papers which I love because there is PINK in the papers.  Plus I won some White Marquee Enamel shapes and wanted to show my upline how I would use them.  This paper pack is gorgeous and so versatile that while most of the cards are feminine  I have changed the colour way and make them more masculine.

Here they are:

DSCF1324

I love the simplicity of this card.  The flower has been cut using the Art Philosophy cartridge (page 50) in three different sizes and then I have sponged the edges with Cotton Candy ink.  The centre and leaf has been cut out of the patterned paper and finished off with a Flamingo dot.  I have stamped the sentiment with Pear ink first on White Daisy cardstock and then placed the enamel shape over it and then trimmed around the edge.  This was then adhered to the card.  I love how it pops the sentiment out of the background paper.

DSCF1325

This card happened by accident.  The grey trim on either side of the spotty paper is actually part of the patterned paper and I just happened to put the paper against the grey and it looked just like a rope edge and I was able to trim it to fit.  I have also used Topiary ribbon as a trim.

DSCF1327

Once again I had to use this pattern from Make it From Your Heart Volume 2.  I am getting to know this pattern very well and was able to make it without the book in front of me.  I have used the enamel shapes on pink glitter card to add some impact.  The sentiment has been fussy cut out and placed on Pear cardstock and then matted onto Cotton Candy.

DSCF1328

This is a very simple card and I have placed the heart marque shape onto spare pink patterned paper and trimmed around the edge.  I then placed it onto the pink strip of paper and it looks like a buckle.  I am still enjoying using the SOTM set – You’ve Got a Friend’

DSCF1329

Here is another flower using the Art Philosophy cartridge.  I have teamed it up with some bling with pink glitter cardstock and some Sparkles – Flourish.  The Thank You is from the New Zealands Greetings stamp set.

DSCF1331

This is a different coloured card yet using the Lollydoodle paper.  I have gone with the Juniper and Slate colours and used Juniper and Slate ink for the sentiment.  I have added a pop of Cotton Candy for a lift and finished off with Aqua dots.

DSCF1332I used the pattern from Make it From Your Heart Volume 1 page 46 and I have used the marquee shapes on pink patterned paper to add some oomph to the card.   The Juniper spots on the left provide some relief from the overall pink scheme.

Materials used:

Cardstock – Cotton Candy, White Daisy, Juniper, Slate, Pink Glitter

Paper – Lollydoodle

Inks – Cotton Candy, Juniper, Slate

Stamps – You’ve Got a Friend in Me, For a Friend, New Zealand Greetings

Sparkles – Flourish small

Flamingo dots

Aqua dots

Topiary ribbon

Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge

White Marquee Enamel Shapes

Blue and Green Epoxy bubbles

Slate Bakers Twine

I hope that you have enjoyed my cards as much as I had in making them.

Have a good week.

Happy Crafting.

CTMH Mother’s Day cards

Hello again and welcome to my new followers.  I hope you enjoy reading my blog and get inspiration from my projects.

After a very busy week with two blog hops I have settled down with some cards for Mother’s Day next Sunday.   I enjoy using different colours and combinations and CTMH make it so easy with the wide range of colours and patterns they have for us to use.

Here are just a few that I have made:

DSCF1321

For this card I have used tone on tone with Lagoon with a hint of soft green in the background matting.  I am happy with the different patterns here – what do you think?  I have also finally found a way to use the Lagoon zipper lace and I am looking forward to using it more.  I have also used Lagoon washi tape on White Daisy cardstock to add even more pattern to the card.  The photo does not do the colours or texture justice.

DSCF1323

I love the simplicity of this card.  This paper and vellum is from the Free to Be Me paper pack that is only available this month and there is gorgeous papers and this wonderful gold polka dotted vellum.  I have teamed it with some patterned paper from the same paper pack and stamped the images with Lagoon ink and completed the card with the Aqua dots.

DSCF1319

I must confess I have used this pattern before but I wanted a simple yet elegant card.  This beautiful red paper is from the Free to Be Me paper pack again I have used the sentiment from the Mother’s Day stamp set with the lovely silhouette from the Sweet Moments stamp set.  I have fussy cut the image out and used foam tape to adhere it to the card.

DSCF1320

Here is another Skylark card (I love the name of the papers!) The edging is actually a negative image from a die cut that I had cut for a mini album.  I never throw anything away and this has come up lovely and I have added some Lagoon cardstock to create a ribbon effect and added a slate twist tie.  I really like using the frames and sentiments as they make such a lovely addition to a cut and a nice change from the very square tags I used to do all the time.

DSCF1322Here is another card from the Free to Be Me paper pack.  I have cut the shapes out using the Art Philosophy cartridge in White Daisy and the red patterned cardstock that came with the pack.  The flower is from the Art Philosophy Cricut stamp collection and cut in half with an Aqua dot in the middle.

Materials used:

Cardstock – White Daisy, Lagoon,

Paper – Skylark, Free to Be Me,

Inks – Lagoon, Ruby

Stamps – Mother’s Day, Sweet Moments, Cricut Art Philosophy Seasons Cricut Collection. Holiday Tags, Perfect Fit – Frames 2

Aqua dots

Cricut cartridge – Art Philosophy

Lagoon zipper lace

Lagoon washi tape

Slate twist tie

The Free to Be Me paper pack is available for this month only for $5 with any purchase of $75 or over.  The normal retail price is normally $18.

The Paper Trail Blog Hop – Timberline

Welcome back to the Paper Trail Blog featuring the fabulous Timberline papers.  This is such a masculine paper and a lot of fun to use.

If you have come from Betsy’s blog,  you are in the right place and if you have just popped in to visit then feel free to have a good browse.  The blog hop is circular so once you have visited everyone you will end up where you have started.

For my post today I have done a layout of my son using the WOTG layout with my own twist.  I cut out the basic layout months ago and finally with this blog hop I managed to get it completed.  I could not believe that the school photo of James went so well with the Twilight base card and  I also managed to find some photos of James playing cricket at about the same age and once again the photos went well with the colours.  Here is the layout:

CTMH - Timberline double page layout

My Cricut machine got another good workout.  I have used the Artbooking cartridge to cut the vines and leaves, the Ready. Steady.Go and the All Boy titles and the Art Philosophy cartridge for the scalloped matting.  The leaves have been cut using Ponderosa Pine cardstock and then layered with Olive cardstock.  I have then distressed them all with Desert Sand ink to add some dimension to the leaves.  I have also used an embossing tool to add some texture to the vine leaves.  Here is a close up of the leaves:

Close up of Artbooking leaves

I have kept to a fairly simple colour scheme – just using Ponderosa Pine and Desert Sand inks on the Ponderosa Pine, Bamboo and Twilight cardstock.  I think this makes for a very harmonious layout.

Here is a list of the materials I have used for the layout:

Cardstock – Twilight, Bamboo, Ponderosa Pine, Colonial White

Inks – Ponderosa Pine. Desert Sand

Papers – Timberline

Stamp sets – Catch You Later, Take Note Cricut Bundle, Tech Speak

Cricut Cartridges – Art Philosophy, Artbooking

Dimensional elements

I have also made some fishing cards from these papers.  I love the Timberline paper with it’s beautiful plaid pattern and the wonderful woodgrain effect paper – very versatile.  In the past I have found it very difficult purchasing decent masculine cards and CTMH make it so easy to make cards for everyone.

I hope you have enjoyed your visit here and seen how much fun the Timberline papers are.  Now hop on over to Mary’s blog here to check out her fabulous creations.

Australasian CTMH May SOTM – You’ve Got a Friend Blog Hop

Welcome

10001517_10152327088764808_982230598_n

Hello and welcome aboard our Australasian Close to My Heart Stamp of the Month – You’ve Got a Friend  Blog Hop. If you have arrived here from Jenny’s Blog    then you are in the right place. If you landed here by accident, no problem, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.

For today I have made some cards using the stamp set.  These make great sentiments for cards and useful for either feminine, masculine or children’s cards.  I have used two different paper packs for these cards to show the versatility.

DSCF1240

I have used the Balloon Ride Picture My Life products to create this card as well as papers from the Balloon Ride paper pack.  For the sentiment I have stamped the image with Black ink on Ruby cardstock and then stamped again on some blue paper and then cut out the middle and adhered it to the centre of the image.  I have done the same for the red/pink ribbon

DSCF1247

I have used the pattern out of the Make it From Your Heart Volume  2  to make this card.  This makes a lovely masculine card – especially with the moustache which I have stamped with chocolate ink onto Saddle cardstock and then cut out and placed over the original image which I have stamped using Sorbet ink.  Finally in keeping with the French theme I have used my Cricut Artist cartridge to cut out the Eiffel tower from Chocolate cardstock which has been distressed with Slate ink.

For the other set of cards I have used Lollydoodle papers.  I love the pink and greens in this paper set and I have also used some gorgeous pink glitter cardstock to add some extra bling.

DSCF1315

For this card I have added some hearts cut using the Art Philosophy cartridge and the sentiment from the Artbooking cartridge.  The butterfly is from the Artiste cartridge.

DSCF1316

Here I have stamped the image in Outdoor Denim ink on Pear cardstock and fussy cut it out before I used foam tape to adhere to the White Daisy cardstock.  I have used the a stamp from the Card Chatter – Sympathy set that just fitted in with this particular stamp.

DSCF1318

For this card I have used sponge daubers to place the ink on the stamp.  I have used Cotton Candy on the ‘Friend’ and Pear on the rest of the stamp. I am in love with the Flamingo dots.  They add such a different dimension than the glitter gems.   I am really pleased how it has turned out.

The materials used for these cards are:

Cardstock – Sorbet, White Daisy, Saddle, Cotton Candy, Pear, Slate, Chocolate, Pink Glitter

Inks – Sorbet, Chocolate, Pear, Cotton Candy, Slate

Stamps – You’ve Got a Friend, Card Chatter – Sympathy, Holiday Tags

Papers – Lollydoodle, Balloon Ride

Picture Your Life – Balloon Ride

Cricut Cartridges – Artbooking, Artiste, Art Philosophy

Flamingo Dots

Clear Sparkles

Topiary Ribbon

You’ve Got a Friend  is only available until the 31st May for just $5 when you spend $75 from your CTMH consultant.  I’d love you to leave a comment before heading off to the next stop,  Shaunna’s blog, Passionate about Pages
