Altenew Academy Classes – All About Layering 1 (2)

Kia Ora Koutou

I have been practicing my layered stamping with the Antique Roses stamp set as part of my class at Altenew Academy (All About Layering 1) and I am very happy with my progress so far.  I am getting more confident with this stamp set and I am looking to complete the class for my Altenew Educators Programme soon.  In the meantime here is another card made with this stamp set.  I love the pink and green combination I have used here.  The green really makes the pink roses pop on the crisp white background.

To create the base for the flowers I have die cut the quilted background die from Lawn Fawn out of white cardstock to fit on the white base card 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.  I die cut two frames using the Handstitched Accents Die from Heartfelt Creations and adhered them together before adding to the card front.

I have stamped the rose images from the Antique Roses set on Neenah Solar white card with Pink Diamond, Coral Berry, Ruby Red and Grapevine inks and the leaf images from the Antique Roses set with Firefly, Grass Fields and Shadow Creek inks.  I found this colour combination to work well and was very pretty.  I then die cut with the coordinating dies.

Before placing the stamped images on the card I die cut two ornamental frames from the Heartfelt Creations Ornamental Tags die set out of white cardstock and adhered them together.  I have then stamped the sentiment from the Antique Roses stamp set with Hero Arts embossing ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.  I have then die cut the sentiment out using the inner tag die and then adhere the tag to the front of the card with foam tape.  I trimmed the leaves and placed them under the tag and then added the rose and some leaves on the top of the tag as shown.

I hope you like this card and I really encourage you to look at the Altenew classes.  There is always something new to learn!

To create the base for the flowers I have cut a piece of gold foil card to fit the white base card 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.  I then cut a piece of white cardstock slightly smaller at 4 2/16″ x 5 6/16″ and embossed using the Stampin’Up Tufted 3D embossing folder before adding it to the front of the card. I die cut two frames using the Handstitched Accents Die from Heartfelt Creations and adhered them together before adding to the card front with foam tape.

I then die cut with the coordinating dies and played around for a while to get a pleasing composition.  I have used foam tape to create more dimension with the flowers to make them pop out more.

To finish this card I stamped the beautiful image from the Best Sentiments stamp set I received from Altenew as thank you gift and heat embossed it with gold powder, trimmed it and added it to the front of the card with some foam tape.

I hope you like this card and I really encourage you to look at the Altenew classes.  There is always something new to learn!

Clean and Simple Sympathy Card

Kia Ora Koutou

Welcome back and today I want to share a clean and simple sympathy card made using some new dies and embossing folder that I have just received.

Sometimes the dies will dictate what genre of card you end up with and this gorgeous butterfly corner die from Precious Marieke made a sympathy card inevitable.  I have cut two of the corners and trimmed the butterfly to add over the other butterfly on the corner and I put the trimmings on the opposite corner.  The Lawn Fawn frame dies are gorgeous and they framed the lovely Stampin’ Up embossing folder perfectly.  I really love the sentiment from Heartfelt Creations and it was perfect to add to the simplicity of the card.  The card looked unfinished until I added a little bit of sparkle with some sparkles from CTMH.
