An English Country Garden

Kia ora koutou

Today I have a very special card to share with you. I was asked to make a very special birthday card for a very special Grandma who is about to turn an incredible 94 years old and she lived in England. The brief was for roses and alstroemeria flowers as these were her favourite flowers and I thought that I would do a English country cottage scene with different flowers, a lovely seat to sit on and admire the garden and some sweet birdies to fill the air with song. The Heartfelt Creations Gateway Fold cards were perfect for this occasion. I have used many different products from Heartfelt Creations and as I did not have a lot of time I die cut the images from the paper collection rather than colouring them. I am so happy how this turned out and Olya if you are reading this I really really enjoyed making this. Thank you so much for asking me to make this card and I hope your Grandma really loves and cherishes this very special card/gift that has come from the heart from New Zealand.

Scroll past the photos for a full list of the products that I have used in this card. I will also have a video tutorial on my YouTube channel showing you how I have made these roses coming soon.

Hats off to You Congratulations Card

Kia Ora Koutou

Today I am sharing a quick and easy graduation card that my daughter requesting for her flatmate when she graduated with a PhD. For my card I have mixed and matched some Amazing Paper Grace dies with Spellbinders dies to create a simple yet very elegant graduation card. I have used red accents as this was the colour of the faculty where the friend studied.

My Project

For my card I have created a top folding 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ base card out of white cardstock. I reversed foiled the background using the Spellbinders Glimmering Swag Glimmer Plate using gold foil. This was trimmed to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and adhered to the front of the card. I then die cut the frame using the Amazing Paper Grace Rectangle Fluted Classics die and adhered it to the front of the card using foam tape for some dimension. I die cut the inner panel using the next size down rectangle Fluted Classics die and adhered it to the centre of the card inside the frame. Finally, I die cut the smaller panel and embossing it with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Embossing Folder and adhered it to the front.

I die cut the graduation hat out of gold, black and red cardstocks using the Spellbinders Hat’s Off To You Dies and adhered it to the top right of the card. I decorated the card with the ‘congrats’ sentiment from the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month March 2020 – Elegant Infinity Dies, the stars from the Spellbinders Parcel and Post Christmas Decorations Dies and the numbers from the Spellbinders Victorian Numbers Dies.

Amazing Paper Grace Halloween Boo

Kia ora Koutou

This week I am totally outside my comfort zone with a Halloween card using the Amazing Paper Grace Halloween Add Ons by Becca Feeken. I normally work with soft pastel shades and dark purples and blacks are totally alien to me but it is good to challenge and stretch oneself. Also, Halloween is not a very big tradition here in New Zealand and I have never really done Halloween cards before so it was time to play with the Halloween dies by Amazing Paper Grace and use some newly learned techniques such as ink blending to make this card.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project

To make my card I have created a top folding 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card base out of white cardstock. I cut a piece of white cardstock 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. I die cut a small circle using a small circle die out of masking magic paper. I added the small circle to the top right corner of the card before ink blending using Distress Oxide inks – Salvaged Patina, Shaded Lilac, Villainous Potion, Hickory Smoke and Black Soot. I sprayed some glimmer mist and white pearl paint to create a sparkly night sky effect and I then took the circle mas off and added some Antique Linen Distress ink to the circle for the moon. I used the outer masking paper to mask around the moon and added some Pearl stencil paste to the moon for a pearly finish. When this was dry I then added the coloured panel to the front of the card.

I die cut the tree, fence and bats from the Amazing Paper Grace Spooky Boo and Spooky Cottage dies sets. These were then adhered to the front of the ink blended card to create a back scene.

I die cut a frame using the largest dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Hemstitch Rectangles Dies out of black cardstock and a shadow frame out of purple glitter card.

I stamped a scrap piece of card with Wow embossing ink and heat embossed with silver glitter embossing powder and then die cut the cobwebs out of the glittery silver card. I adhered the cobwebs behind the top left and bottom right corners of the black frame and then adhere the purple shadow frame behind the black frame. I cut a piece of acetate 3 3/4″ x 5″ and adhered this behind the frame. I added silver star and pink/purple sequins to the front of the card and then adhered the frame to the front of the card with foam strips to create a shaker card.

I die cut the spiders and cat out of black cardstock and added them to the front of the card and also added the Boo sentiment which was die cut from the embossed glittery silver cardstock.

To finish I coloured two small bitty sparkles with a dark purple Copic marker and added them to the cat for eyes.

Kia ora Koutou

I have another card featuring Honey Bee Stamps products and this time I have used the Spring Greenery and Birds dies. These are just fabulous and so easy to make cards with.

My project.

I have created a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ top folding base card. I then die cut a piece of light blue cardstock 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and adhere it to the front of the card. I have then cut a piece of white cardstock 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and die cut it using the Honey Bee Stamps Honey Bee Stamps – Delicate Daisy A2 Cover Plate Base – Honey Cuts. I sponged around the edges with Sky Blue ink and then adhere it to the front of the card. I die cut two dies using the Honey Bee Stamps – Delicate Daisy A2 Cover Plate Top – Honey Cuts, stacked them together and adhered it to the front of the card.

I have die cut the bird using blue, red, black, grey and cream cardstock. I have sponged blue ink on the winds and body of the bird before assembling it and adhering it to the top right of the card.

I have die cut a range of leaves from the Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – Spring Greenery and adhered them on the bottom left of the card. I die cut the flowers out of blue and purple cardstock and sponged the edges with Lavender Fields ink before assembling them and adding them over the leaves.

It’s a Cat and Mouse Father’s Day Game Father’s Day Card

Kia ora Koutou

Today I am sharing a Father’s Day card that I have made for my husband for Father’s Day. This was another quick and easy card to make as I already had all the foliage and flowers die cut and the cat and mouse were easy to die cut and add to the card. This cat die looks exactly like our cat from the back.

My Project

For my card I have made a top folding 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ base card out of white cardstock. I ink blended yellow and blue inks to the centre of the card front to provide a backdrop to the leaves and animals. I cut another piece of white cardstock 4″ x 5 1/4″ and die cut the oval aperture out using the Amazing Paper Grace Oval Elegant Twist dies. I stamped the sentiment from the Gina K Designs Hole in One Stamp set to the bottom of the panel in black ink and then adhered this panel to the front of the card using foam tape.

I die cut a range of foliage from the Honey Bee Stamps Honey Cuts – Spring Greenery from a range of green cardstock and white cardstock which was coloured with inks. These have been trimmed and added to the centre of the oval frame.

The cat has been die cut out of black cardstock and added to the centre of the oval with foam tape for dimension. The mouse has been cut out of brown cardstock and I sponged the edges with Frayed Burlap ink before adding it to the front of the oval with foam tape for dimension.

Amazing Paper Grace Romantic Slimline Borders Birthday Card

Kia ora koutou

I love lacy dies and these Amazing Paper Grace Romantic Slimline Borders Dies are just stunning to add some pretty edges and decorative backgrounds to add some flowers and a butterfly. These border dies can be used in so many ways and today I have done a 4 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ card. I had some flowers left over from a previous project so this card was so quick and easy to put together. You can see the other card card here and on that post there is a link to a video tutorial on how I have made these flowers on YouTube.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project

To make my card I have created a top folding 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ base card out of white cardstock. I then cut a piece of white cardstock 4″ x 5 1/4″ and scored at 1/8″ intervals down the long side of the card and then adhered it to the front of the card.

I cut the following pieces of card:

Blue card – 4 1/2″ x 4″

White card – 3″ x 4″

Pink card – 2″ x 4″

I die cut each end of the blue card with the ‘broderie anglais’ edge and stitch edge dies, the white card with the scallop and stitched dies and the pink card with the lacy decorative edge dies. I then layered the pink strip to the white strip to the blue strip and adhered them to the front of the embossed layer on the front of the card.

I cut a strip of white card 7/8″ x 4″ and embossed a line at 1/8″ along each long side to add some interest to this panel. I then stamped the sentiment from the Amazing Paper Grace Lyrical Layers Floral Stamp Set in Jet Black ink to the right side of the strip. This was then added to the centre of the pink lacy edged strip.

The flowers were made using the Amazing Paper Grace Primrose Heart Facade Dies. I have ink blended pink and yellow inks on white cardstock before die cutting the flowers out and assembling them. I have also used the same flowers on another card that you can see here. The small sprays are from the Amazing Paper Grace October 2021 Die of the Month Flourished Fleurit Dies and have been die cut out of yellow and green cardstock. I added some gold pearls to the centres of the open flowers.

To finish the card I added a blue, white and gold butterfly from the Amazing Paper Grace Butterfly Bliss Garden Shutters Dies.

Have a Wonderful Day with Roses

Kia ora Koutou

I love love love roses and when I saw the new Crafters Companion Vintage Rose 3D Embossing Folder – Timeless Rose I had to get it and it is just gorgeous. I have coloured the image with Copic Markers and then added a stunning frame to showcase the beautiful roses. Of course I had to add some cute butterflies made from Memory Box dies that I have had for many years. I really love this sentiment as it is so versatile and can be used for so many different occasions.

My Project

I have created a side folding 5″ x 7″ card base out of white cardstock. I then cut a piece of X-Press It paper 4 3/4″ x 6 3/4″ and embossed it using the Timeless Rose embossing folder. I coloured the roses and background with Copic markers and adhered it to the card front.

I cut a piece of white cardstock 5″ x 7″ and die cut the frame using the Nos. 3 and 4 dies from the Heartfelt Creations Fancy Classic Oval Dies. I wanted to keep the decorative frame see through so I cut a piece of acetate 4 3/4″ x 6 3/4″ and adhered it behind the whole frame. I then added the decorative frame to the acetate inside the outer frame and cut the inner oval out using scissors (I found it much easier doing it that way). To complete the decorative frame I have die cut the outer decorative frame from gold cardstock and added it to the frame as shown. The frame was then added to the front of the card with foam strips.

I heat embossed the sentiment from the Heartfelt Creations Heartfelt Sentiments on black cardstock using gold embossing powder. I then die cut the sentiment out using a die from the Altenew Featured Sentiments Die Set and added it to the front of the roses with foam strips.

I die cut the butterflies out using Lawn Fawn Pearlescent Paper and Heartfelt Creations Luxe Gold Cardstock. These were assembled and added to the card front.

To finish I have added gold pearls around the frame.

Amazing Paper Grace Sympathy Card

Kia ora Koutou

My card today has been inspired by a card that I saw on Pinterest and I immediately thought the beautiful Amazing Paper Grace Emmeline Treillage die would make a beautiful background to some gorgeous handmade flowers using the Amazing Paper Grace Cinch and Go Blossoms Dies and leaves and a butterfly from the Amazing Paper Grace Summer Label Motif Dies. I have kept the colours very muted and limited to blue, green and white with a touch of lemon to keep with the sympathy theme of the card.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project

I have created a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ base card out of white cardstock. I cut a piece of pale blue cardstock 4 1/8″ x 4 3/8″ and adhered it to the inside back of the card. I then die cut the lacey front out using the beautiful ‘daisy chain’ die from the Amazing Paper Grace Emmeline Treillage die. I die cut another decorative die from a piece of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ white cardtock and adhered it to the front of the card for more strength.

I die cut three decorative ovals from the Amazing Paper Grace Double Halo Oval dies and stacked the decorative frame together and adhered it to the front of the card. I then stamped the sentiment in black ink on one of the inner ovals and adhered it to the inside of the frame.

I die cut the leaves out of two different colour green cardstocks using the dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Summer Label Motif Dies and adhered them to the left of the oval. I then made the dimensional flowers from flower shaping paper using the flower dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Cinch and Go Blossoms Dies. The blue flowers where coloured with French Ultramarine ink and the smaller flowers were coloured with Citrus Burst inks. Once these were assembled I adhered them over the leaves.

I made the butterfly out of white, blue and black cardstocks using the butterfly dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Summer Label Motif Dies and adhered it to the right of the oval as shown.

To finish the card I have added some white pearls to the centres of the flowers and the daisies on the decorative background die.
