Festive Christmas Cottage

Christmas is not far away and the new Festive Poinsettia collection has finally arrived at Heartfelt Creations for your Christmas card inspiration. For my card today I have created a traditional Christmas scene and framed them with poinsettias.

Instructions:

Cut a piece of Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper 10” x 7”, score at 5” along the long side and fold to create a base card of 5” x 7”. Cut a piece of gold cardstock 5” x 7” and adhere to the front of the card.  Cut a piece of pattern paper with the cottage on 4 7/8” x 6 7/8” and adhere to the front of the card.  Stamp the cottage image from the HCPC-3938 Countryside Cottage Cling Stamp set in Jet Black ink on Iris cardstock. Colour with Zig Clean Colour Brush Markers and die cut with the coordinating die. Add Crystal Ultrafine glitter using Dries White glue to the roof and then adhere to the front of the card.

Stamp the bush and snow images from the HCPC-3938 Countryside Cottage Winter-scapes Cling Stamp set in Jet Black ink on Iris cardstock. Colour with Zig Clean Colour Brush Markers and die cut with the coordinating dies. Adhere to the front of the cottage and add snow effects with Dries White glue.

Die cut the gold frame using the No. 2 from the HCD2-7306 Decorative Circle Frame Die set and the No. 1 die from the HCD1-7155 Circle Basics – Large Die out of gold cardstock.  Adhere over the cottage with foam strips.

Stamp the poinsettia images from the HCPC-3957 Large Festive Poinsettia Cling Stamp Set and the HCPC-3958 Small Festive Poinsettia Cling Stamp Set in embossing ink on Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper and heat emboss with gold embossing powder. Colour the petals with Lady Bug ink and the centres with Sunflower ink and die cut with the coordinating dies. Colour the backs with Lady Bug ink and shape using the coordinating molds. Assemble with two of each size petals. Add the separate centres to the flowers and then pierce the centres.  Insert some small gold pearl stamens through the centres and then add some Heart of Gold Prills to the stamens. Add Crystal Clear glitter to the flowers with clear gloss gel medium, trim the threads and adhere to the bottom right as shown.

Stamp the small spray images from the HCPC-3958 Small Festive Poinsettia Cling Stamp set in embossing ink on Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper and heat emboss with gold embossing powder. Colour the leaves with Leaf Green and Library Green inks and die cut with the coordinating die. Colour the back of the leaves with Leaf Green ink and shape using the coordinating mold.  Add Crystal Clear glitter to the leaves with clear gloss gel medium and adhere around the poinsettias as shown.

Stamp the leaf images from the HCPC-3959 Holly Berry Spray Cling Stamp Set in Mowed Lawn and Library Green inks and die cut with the coordinating die.  Adhere around the poinsettias as shown.

Stamp the mailbox image from the HCPC-3940 Countryside Cottage Summer’scapes Cling Stamp set in Jet Black ink on Iris cardstock. Colour with Zig Clean Colour Brush Markers and die cut with the coordinating die. Cut a hole in the mail box and adhere to the left of the frame as shown.  Stamp the sentiment image from the HCPC-3884 Candy Cane Cottage Cling Stamp Set in Obsidian ink on light green pattern paper and die cut out using the small decorative tag die from the HCD1-7203 Ornamental Tags Die set.  Slot the tag into the mailbox as shown and add a small twine bow.

Stamp the Christmas presents and birds images from the HCPC-3938 Countryside Cottage Winter-scapes Cling Stamp set in Jet Black ink on Iris cardstock.  Colour with Zig Clean Colour Brush Markers and die cut with the coordinating dies.  Adhere the presents around the base of the mailbox and the birds on the top left of the frame as shown with foam squares.

  1. This card looks like an illustration from a book. It’s such a pretty scene. I love the snow on the rooftop, and the house looks as if it’s made from birch. Totally gorgeous!
