Altenew Academy Classes – All About Layering 4 (2)

Kia Ora Koutou

I have just completed my first class at Altenew Academy (All About Layering 4) and I was really inspired by this class with so many techniques being shown with the different flower stamp sets.  This is my second card inspired by this class.  For this card I have combined several techniques in the one card.

To create the base for the flowers I have used the Altenew Halftone stencil and used some textured embossing paste and then heat embossed with the Crystal Clear Embossing Powder from Altenew.  I loved how this turned out with a lovely shiny finish.  The other advantage is that I didn’t have to wait for the paste to dry.  I trimmed this to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and adhered this to a white base card of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ with some heavy cardboard to create the base for my flowers.

I have stamped the rose images from the Antique Roses and Vintage Roses sets on Neenah Solar white card with Pink Diamond, Coral Berry, Ruby Red and Grapevine inks and the leaf images from the Vintage Roses set with Minty Mint, Sweet Leaf and Green Fields.  I found this colour combination to work well and was very pretty.  I then die cut with the coordinating dies and played around for a while to get a pleasing composition.  I used some cling wrap to transfer the images to the card front with some foam tape.

I die cut two frames using the Handstitched Accents Die from Heartfelt Creations and adhered them together before adding to the card front with foam tape.

To finish this card I stamped the Thank You image from the Many Thanks stamp set in Mountain Pine ink on some white cardstock and trimmed this to add over the flowrs as shown.

I hope you like this card and I really encourage you to look at the Altenew classes.  There is always something new to learn!
