Pretty in Pink Sparkle

Welcome back

This week I have got two cards for you.  I have been playing with the Heartfelt Creations Arianna Blooms stamp and die and glitter.

20161203_100105-2

20161203_100053-2

I was really pleased with how these flowers turned out and used these cards as practice.  I am looking forward to my order coming on Monday with the new edge dies and fold out cards where I have an idea for using them so watch this space…

Flower Making Tutorial:

  1. I have stamped the flowers with Memento Lilac Posies and sponged the centres with Memento New Sprout before cutting out.
  2. I then die cut the flowers out and sponged the edges with the Memento Lilac Posies.
  3. I spritzed the back with some water and shaped the flowers using my Heartfelt Creations Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit.
  4. After leaving the layers to dry I then glued the flowers together with Art Glitter Dries Clear Glue.
  5. I then used the glue on the edges of the petal and applied prisma glitter on the glue when I then left to dry.
  6. To finish the flowers I have put some more glue in the centres of the flowers and sprinkled some Lettuce Entertain You Prills.
  7. For the leaves I have stamped with Memento Northern Pine.  I then used a sponge dauber to colour the leaves with Memento New Sprout.  I then used a sponge to sponge Memento Bamboo Leaves on the edges to create some dimension.

Materials used:

  • Cardstock – CTMH White Daisy, American Crafts Patterned cardstock – lilac (I think)
  • Stamps – Heartfelt Creations Arianna Blooms, CTMH Someone Special, Heartfelt Creations Classic Message
  • Dies – Heartfelt Creations Arianna Blooms, Raindrops on Roses, Spellbinders Floral Ovals, Majestic Labels 25

A Touch of Glitter

Welcome back.

This week I have been having a play with using the Stick It adhesive sheets from Ken Oliver.  These sheets make it so easy to adhere fine and delicate dies to your projects but they have other uses including adding glitter to the card.  Here is a card that I have made using the Stick It sheets to add glitter to the background of the Heartfelt Creations Decorative Oval.

20160619_150840

To add the glitter to the background I adhered a sheet of the Stick It sheet to the mauve cardstock and then using the plain oval die cut from the Heartfelt Creations Eyelet Oval dies I cut out the oval.  I removed the backing to the paper and added the Decorative Oval die cut to the sticky oval.  I then sprinkled the glitter over the whole piece.

20160619_140234

The result is a lovely glittery background to the piece.  This photo does show a little of the lovely sparkle.

20160619_140507

After adding the oval to the background mats that I have die cut using the Sue Wilson Lattice Frame die set, I then added beautiful vellum flowers from the Heartfelt Creations Arianna Blooms set.

20160619_144851

I have used the same principle as last weeks post and sponged the back with Memento Lulu Lavender and New Sprout inks to make the flowers coordinate with the mauve pearlescent cardstock.

Here is the finished card again.

Heartfelt Creations Arianna Blooms

Welcome back

Today I would like to feature some cards made with just two colours and the very versatile Heartfelt Creations Arianna Blooms die, as well as the Ornate Borders and Pocket Die from Heartfelt Creations.

The first card is a gatefold card and I have fastened the fold with a very small hook and loop from CTMH.  I haven’t put a sentiment on it as it can then be used for a number of different occasions.  If necessary, I can add the sentiment here in the shop to personalise it.

#HeartfeltCreations

This next card is a pocket card featuring the beautiful dies and I have used a combination of cream and pistachio cardstock to make the flowers and the contrast to show of the lovely design of the dies.

Pretty in Pink

Just a very quick post today as I am still in the process unpacking my house and really should not be doing this post, but I can’t help myself.

I am enjoying branching out into different product ranges and came across this beautiful pearlised paper from Christina Re with stripes on one side and a damask pattern on the other side.  These make a great combination and I made a card and put it in the window of Gift Hutt as a work in progress and sold it within a day.  I didn’t have time to even take a photo of it which I usually do.

So I had some more papers and made another card using the stunning papers and some pearlised card stock I got from the local paper merchant.  I have embellished with lace and ribbons from my still considerable stash and finished off with the gorgeous lacy die from the Heartfelt Creations Raindrops on Roses die set and the lovely Ariana Blooms flowers done in vellum.

Tutorial on cardstock weight for Heartfelt Creations Stamps and Die Sets

Welcome back.

This week I have been playing around with different weights of cardstock making flowers using the Arianna Blooms stamp and die set from Heartfelt Creations.  I now have a selection of Heartfelt Creations products in Gift Hutt and I was very impressed with the quality of the products – in particular the paper packs.  The papers are just beautiful and easy to just make cards and scrapbook layouts without any embellishments.

I have been using up my CTMH cardstock (mainly White Daisy which is just under 220 gsm) to make the flowers but I have found that the cardstock is a fraction too heavy for making the flowers – or it could be that my hands have been very sore lately as well).   You can get some dimension but it tends to go a little flat.  Here are some samples I have made:

2016-02-16 14.18.37

I then went to Lincraft and got some Canson cardstock (Azure) that was 160 gsm thick and this time I was able to get a really good shape for the flowers and they were also easy to make rosebuds as well.

2016-02-16 14.28.23

Here is a comparison between the CTMH White Daisy cardstock and the Canson lighter weight cardstock.  As you can see the White Daisy cardstock has flattened out a little while the lighter cardstock still has more dimension.

2016-02-16 14.32.28

I then just die cut the flowers on the same cardstock and after sponging the outside with Glacier ink and the inside with Canary inks from CTMH I wet the flowers.  The petals were scrunched and then left to dry.  I found I had to be a little careful to make sure that I did not rip the card but it was pretty strong.  I was very happy with how these flowers turned out.  They came out with a more shabby chic look.

2016-02-16 15.05.49

Finally, I had a really difficult day the other day, and so to help me relax I made this card using the bottom flowers and I was very happy how it turned out.  The colours worked so well together.

Here are some other examples that I have made for the class next Sunday.

I will be following up a lead tomorrow to check out some cardstock to carry at Gift Hutt as I will run out of CTMH cardstock eventually.

I look forward to meeting everyone at the class next week.

Have a good week and Happy Crafting.

A Bit of Old and A Bit of New

Welcome back.

Thank you for the lovely comments on my last post.  I am pleased to say that the wedding card sold very quickly in Gift Hutt and it will make a very special card to keep for the wedding couple.

This week I am featuring a couple of cards using up some of stash.  The first card features some apricot/orange lilies that I picked up a while ago at a local Emporium.  The die cutting and embossing make a very elegant background for the flowers tied with a simple bow.  It was amazing the difference the embossing made on the CTMH Sunset card.  It hasn’t been embossed along the grain, but I like the effect on the embossing with a little white showing through.

#Spellbinders

Materials used:

Cardstock – CTMH White Daisy and Sunset

Die – Spellbinders Nestabilities Timeless Rectangle, Nestabilities Labels Eighteen

Embossing folder – CTMH Damask

I have used a piece of vellum ephemera inside the frame to add a different look to the card.  The embossing helps the frame stand out more and I have used ribbon from my stash.  This card has also sold very quickly in Gift Hutt as well.

Dies – Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Eighteen, Fancy Framed Tags Two

Finally I have made some flowers using the Heartfelt Creations Ariana stamp and die set.  I have used a basket die cut that I purchased many years ago and sponged it with a combination of CTMH cashmere and desert sand inks.  I have sued ribbon and lace from my stash to complete this card.

Vining Fuchsias and Ariana Blooms

Welcome back

I am a day late for my post but better late than never.  I haven’t had much chance to do much crafting lately as my house is on the market and I haven’t been too well either.  So I will show a card that I made some time ago.  I am discovering all sorts of products on the market place and it has been enjoyable playing with some new ones that I have purchased.

Gift Hutt-1-187

For this card I have used a combination of Heartfelt Creations dies and stamps for a colourful card.  There is a lot of layering involved with the different dies and stamps.  I have cut two of the Raindrops on Roses die in White Daisy cardstock and then one oval using the inner oval with the pattern from the Elegant Ovals die also in White Daisy.  I then cut a plain oval out of the Pomegranate cardstock to place underneath the patterned oval.  I then stamped the Vining Fuchsia stamp on some White Daisy cardstock.  I coloured the flowers and leaves with copic markers.  I then partially cut the image out using the plain oval die and then fussy cut around the flowers to create a look of cascading flowers over the patterned oval.  I then stamped and die cut the Ariana blooms and coloured them in with copic markers.  These colours work perfectly with the Pomegranate cardstock.  I shaped the flowers and then finished off with the Gold Bling gems from CTMH.  I haven’t put a sentiment on as yet and may not do so.  It can then be used for a number of different occasions.

Materials used:

Heartfelt Creations

Stamps – Vining Fuchsia, Ariana Blooms

Dies – Raindrops on Roses, Elegant Ovals, Ariana Blooms

Copic Markers

CTMH

Cardstock – White Daisy, Pomegranate

Gold Bling Gems

Ink – Memento Black Ink

This card is available for sale at Gift Hutt.

Have a good week and Happy Crafting.

Having Fun with Heartfelt Creations Ariana Blooms

Welcome back

I hope you all had a good Christmas and got lots of new craft supplies.  I have just received the Heartfelt Creations Ariana stamp and die set and I just love these stamps.  It is strange using the rubber stamps again but these stamps had good adhesion to my acrylic blocks and gave a nice crisp image.  It is also great to have a matching die to save my hands for fussy cutting.  I have had some fun with using different inks and finishes and here are my first efforts.

I have used a combination of Le Vie En Rose papers and Black and Pomegranate cardstock from CTMH for my first card.  I love the combination of the gold embossing on the flowers and the gold Peelcraft edging and corners and the black of the Heartfelt Creations eyelet oval die.  I have cut two sets of flowers to create these flowers.  I haven’t put a sentiment on the front as it blocked the beautiful paper.  I am waiting for some beautiful Spellbinders dies and will look at doing something inside the card instead.  However, I do find that some people like to have blank cards for different purposes.

_DSC0535

Here is a close up of the flowers.  The photos really do not show the vibrancy of the colours.

_DSC0536

I have stayed with a very elegant cream and gold combination for my second card. I have used Peelcraft stickers for the corners, edging and the tag and sentiment.

_DSC0539

_DSC0540

Finally here is a little fun 4″ x 4″ card I have made with this single layer flower and the Raindrops on Roses die from Heartfelt Creations.  I have sponged the centre with Buttercup ink and the edges of the petals with Pomegranate ink.

Materials used:

Cardstock – CTMH Black, Pomegranate, White Daisy, Colonial White, Buttercup

Paper – CTMH Le Vie En Rose

Stamp – Heartfelt Creations Ariana

Dies – Heartfelt Creations Ariana, Eyelet Oval, Raindrops on Roses

Inks – CTMH Black, Versamark, Pomegranate, Buttercup

CTMH Gold Bling Gems

Peelcraft stickers from my stash

Pearl string from my stash
