Amazing Paper Grace Pink Floral Elegance

My very pink card today has been inspired by Barbiemania that has swept around the world in the last few weeks. My favourite colour is pink and this was an easy card for me to create with lots of pink and white layers. To soften all the pink I have used the beautiful Amazing Paper Grace Radiant Navette dies to create a pretty lace background for some gorgeous yellow and blue flowers. Also, I know a lot of people struggle with flower making and do not always have flower shaping paper to make flowers. So today I have created my flowers using a light weight white cardstock and with minimal tools and my fingers and I was very pleased with the result. And of course Barbie is full of bling and sparkle and I had to add some pink iridescent jewels and some sparkle with some glitter.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project

For my card I have created a 5″ x 5 1/2″ top folding base card out of white cardstock. I have then layered pink and white cardstock with the top pink layer embossed using the Amazing Paper Grace Orange Peel 3D Embossing Folder from the Home Sweet Quilt collection by Becca Feeken. I have then die cut the lace background out of white cardstock using the Amazing Paper Grace Radiant Navette dies. I then ink blended the plain oval die using Spun Sugar, Saltwater Taffy and Kitsch Flamingo inks before adhering the decorative oval on top. These were all assembled and then added to the front of the card

I have reversed foiled the sentiment from the Amazing Paper Grace Elegant Occasion Sentiments Hot Foil Plate and Coordinating Die using gold foil and die cut the die using the coordinating die. I then die cut three additional plain dies and stacked all together with the foiled sentiment on top. The sentiment was then added to the centre of the decorative oval.

I die cut the yellow flowers using the flower dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month March 2021 – 3D Vignette Mason Jar out of Hammermill cardstock. I have coloured the centres with Lemon Whip and Sunshine inks and then shaped them using a large ball stylus. I finished shaping the flowers by pleating the petals with my fingers. I then assembled the flowers together with two of each size. I added pink iridescent jewels to the centres of the flowers and added the flowers to the bottom right and top left of the decorative oval as shown.

I die cut the leaves from the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month March 2021 – 3D Vignette Mason Jar and the Amazing Paper Grace Petite Floral Potpourri Dies using two different green cardstocks. The long leaves were trimmed and added around the flowers and the smaller leaves were added around the yellow flowers.

I die cut the small blue filler dies using the die from the Amazing Paper Grace Petite Floral Potpourri Dies. I have coloured these flowers using Summer Shower ink and shaped them using a small ball stylus. I added some yellow iridescent jewels to the centres and then added them around the leaves and yellow flowers.

To finish I have added some pink iridescent jewels around the flowers and on the decorative dies.

Amazing Paper Grace Vellum Layered Cherry Blossoms

I am always looking for different ways to make flowers for my cards. I had made this pretty card using the Amazing Paper Grace Candlewick Classics Collection by Becca Feeken as a demonstration on how you can emboss these dies for an elegant finish for the Amazing Paper Grace – Encouragement Community on Facebook. I needed some delicate flowers to match the pretty background so I looked at the Amazing Paper Grace Layered Cherry Blossoms Dies and they were the perfect size for this card. This time I made the flowers from vellum and there is a tutorial in the Amazing Paper Grace – Encouragement Community. Click on this link and answer the questions to join this group for this tutorial and many others.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project

I have made a base card of 5″ x 5″ out of white cardstock. I have layered the Square Candlewick Classic die with the Round Doily and Circle Candlewick Classic dies to create the base for the flowers, sentiment and butterfly. I also put some pearlescent vellum behind the Round Doily to help this die stand out from the background.

I added the sentiment from the Amazing Paper Grace Elegant Occasions Sentiments Hot Foil Plate which had been reverse foiled with gold foil with some foam squares. I then added the flowers, leaves and branches to the right of the centre and sentiment. To finish I added a pretty butterfly from the Amazing Paper Grace Summer Label Motif Dies that has been made from vellum and given some sparkle with glitter. Finally I added some pink iridescent jewels to the centre of the flowers and around the sentiment.

Classic Rose Tutorial

Kia Ora Koutou

Welcome back to a special tutorial for Heartfelt Creations featuring the fabulous Classic Rose stamp, die and mold die set.

Making roses is so easy with the coordinating 3D flower shaping molds.  The molds allow for consistent shaping and this tutorial will show you the step by step instructions to create different size roses to decorate your cards.

Directions:

Step 1:

Stamp the flowers with Magenta Hue ink on Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper.  Colour the flowers in the centres with Tiger Lily ink and the petals with Magenta Hue ink and die cut with the coordinating die.

Colour the edges of the petals with Cactus Flower ink and the backs of the smaller petals with Magenta Hue ink.

Stamp the leaves with Library Green ink on Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper.  Colour with Vivid Chartreuse and Magenta Hue inks and die cut with the coordinating die.

Step 2:

Place the petals and the leaves in the coordinating mold.  Spritz lightly on the back with some water and then run through your die cutting machine.

Step 3

To create the bud take the smallest petal and add Dries Clear glue to two opposing petals and join together.  When dry add the other three petals.  This can be used as a small bud as well as for the centre of the larger flowers.

Step 4

Shape the next size up petal with the stamped image on the outside and then add the small bud to the centre with Dries Clear glue.  This also makes a good bud to go with the bigger flowers and also rose centres.

Step 5

For the largest flower use three largest petals, one of each of the next sizes.  Assemble the three largest petals offsetting the petals each time.  Use two foam mats to get a deeper impression when assembling the flower.   Take the largest size of the smallest stamp set and shape into a bowl with the stamped side on the outside.  Add your previously made bud and add to the centre of this petal with Dries Clear glue.  Add this to the centre of the larger petals.

Step 6

For the second largest size flower use three of the smaller petals from the larger stamp set and one each of the other sizes.  Assemble the two layer bud as before.  Assemble the three larger petals offsetting each time as with the larger flower.  Add the largest petal from the smaller stamp set and adhere to the centre of the flower with the stamped side up.  Add the bud to the centre of the flower as shown.

Step 7

For the third sized flower take two of the largest size petals from the smaller stamp set and one each of the other sizes from the same stamp set.  Make a double petal bud as per previous instructions.  Assemble the two larger petals offsetting the petals and making a deep bowl.  Add the bud to the centre of the flower.

Step 8

For the smallest flower make a single petal bud.  Take two of the middle sized petals from the smaller stamp set and assemble together offsetting the petals and creating a bowl shape.  Add the bud with Dries Clear glue and leave to dry.

Step 9

To finish the flowers add Crystal Clear glitter using Dries Clear glue on a damp Hydra sponge.
