Introducing the Amazing Paper Grace Delicate Impressions Collection

Delicate Impressions Details

We’re excited to introduce another Glimmer Hot Foil collection! The Delicate Impressions Collection has five sets of Glimmer Hot Foil Plates. The fifth set, Heart Melt Sentiments, has four unique phrases with matching dies. The other four sets are designed to create borders and accents that can be used on cards from A2 to 5 x 7-inches. Each elegant motif can be layered with itself or mix with others in the same collection or beyond.

Glimmer Hot Foil Plates are metal plates used in the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System to transfer foil to paper through a combination of heat and pressure.  Roll the Glimmer machine base through your die cut machine to deliver its beautiful design. Refer to Compatibility Charts on Spellbinders’ website, to see if your machine is a match.

Our Creative Team members will showcase their creations made with the Delicate Impressions Collection today. For those of you who enjoy watercolors, we are using Jane Davenport Watercolors to highlight our projects. See if you can identify what techniques are being used!

Becca Feeken sent over these stunning plates and dies for me to try.

Each of our Creative Team members will show you their take on cards made with the Collection.

My Projects For Today

First up I have made a card with a coordinating gift box to gift to a very special friend using the beautiful  Fanfare Border Glimmer Hot Foil Plate from Delicate Impressions Collection by Becca Feeken and the Heart Melt Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set from Delicate Impressions Collection by Becca Feeken.

Here is what the dies look like:

For my card I have used the fanfare borders to create a beautiful background for my favourite embellishments – handcrafted roses coloured with the Jane Davenport watercolours and accented with the gorgeous flourish from the Shapeabilities Candlewick Rosebud Etched Dies Candlewick Sampler Collection by Becca Feeken.

My second project is a gift box that I have made using a variety of background layering dies that accentuate the stunning fanfare accents. This card and box is perfect filled with chocolates or special gifts and given with the card to a very special friend.

Designer Tip:

I have found trimming the foil to be a similar size to your hot glimmer plate helps to allow for the use of tape to adhere the plate to your card and stops slipping and mistakes.

Oh Honey!

What’s a Cardlet, pray tell?  A Cardlet is a small motif, complete with background, sentiment and character that combine to make small card or layers onto a larger card.  We’re delighted to introduce you to the Sweet Cardlets Collection.

Becca Feeken sent over these lovely dies and watercolors for me to try.

Sweet Cardlets show up in a Glimmer format with a matching die.   They are metal plates that are used in the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System to transfer foil to paper through a combination of heat and pressure.  The Glimmer machine base is rolled through your die cut machine to deliver that pressure.  As long as you have a machine that can accommodate thick dies – like steel rule dies, you’re all set. A word to the wise, it is very addicting.  (Compatibility charts on the Spellbinders website)

The Inspiration behind Sweet Cardlets

We gotta fess up here.  There’s no such word as cardlets, yep, Becca straight up made it up.  You have to agree though, it sounds really cute, right?  Well that was the inspiration behind sweet cardlets.  As you can imagine it has something to do with cards and moreover, little cards.

Always mindful of the budget, Becca wanted to create a collection where each set is all you need to make a little card.  Sweet Cardlets are small motifs with a 3″ x 3″ footprint.  Each has a background, a main character and several sentiments.

We found it the right size to fit on an A2 card and even to layer onto an A7 card.  In fact, the 3″ background can be repeated for a long background or a larger background.  Dies cut out each main character and three sentiments with each set give you lots of options.

I am using Jane Davenport Watercolors  to show off Sweet Cardlets hot glimmer plate.

My Projects For Today

For my projects today I have used the very beautiful Just Bee-cause Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set Sweet Cardlets by Becca Feeken.

Here is what the die look like:

I have created the background by foiling with Opal Glimmer Foil on watercolour card. I have then used the watercolours to highlight the resist effect of the foiling. I have added extra dimension with gold hexagons and then added some Nuvo Jewel Drops – Lemoncello to create the look of honey drizzling in a honeycomb.

The flowers are handcrafted using the Shapeabilities Cinch and Go V Etched Dies Vintage Treasures by Becca Feeken

The Picot Petite Squares Etched Dies Picot Petite Collection from Amazing Paper Grace by Becca Feeken really compliment this card so well with a honeycomb effect with the picot edge. The Christmas Cascade Card Base Etched Dies Christmas Cascade Collection by Becca Feeken die also works really well with the decorative dies.

I am really enjoying using the watercolours – they are strong and vibrant with a lovely translucent finish.

Here is the Spellbinders video showing amazing new samples as well as a walkthrough of the entire collection:

If you haven’t already jumped into Christmas preparations, are you ready to sleigh it?  Today we are sharing the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month for November 2020 – Pop Up 3D Vignette Poinsettia Sleigh.  This one is a little bit different because it folds down flat for mailing as do all the dies in the 3D Vignette lines.

Becca Feeken of Amazing Paper Grace sent me these lovely dies to create with.

Poinsettia Sleigh Details

This die can be used as flat detail on a 2D surface but transforms into a 3D show piece so easily that we’re happy you will have both options.Becca traditionally creates a high end die that doubles as a decoration piece in November of each year.  Let’s just call it icing on the cake for the holidays.  It’s really a satisfying venture to grab a cup of coffee and sit down to put it together as it is to set it out on the table.

Today we want to inspire you to think of different combinations using the Poinsettia Sleigh.  Here’s what we had in mind:

  1. Table Center Piece
  2. Table Setting Favor
  3. Filled with Candy and Goodies
  4. Part of a Wonderland Menagerie
  5. Flat 2D on the front of a card

In the comments let us know how you think it should be used.

There are 21dies included in the Pop Up 3D Vignette Poinsettia Sleigh

My Projects Today using the Pop Up 3D Vignette Poinsettia Sleigh

I have made two projects today. The first project is a 3D Vignette Sleigh made with three different coloured poinsettias. This is perfect for a table setting or can be folded up and placed in a box envelope that I have made to post or gift by hand. The second project is an elegant gold and white card with the sleigh on a fabulous background die also from Amazing Paper Grace.

Designer Tip:
Add Nuvo Indian Gold Mousse to the poinsettias to highlight the texture of the poinsettias.

P.S.  In the Amazing Paper Grace Creative Encouragement Facebook Group there are two Step-by-Step Tutorials that take a novice through creating some spectacular poinsettias.  I hope you’ll join the group so that you have both of those methods in your toolbox.  They’ll come in handy this Christmas Season.

We Wish You a Merry Christmas

Kia Ora Koutou

We all love interactive and kinetic cards! Introducing the Christmas Cascade Collection!

This holiday collection allows you to make a Cascading Card inside of a Shadowbox Frame, mounted on a card base or unmounted. Don’t worry, these motifs make great conventional cards as well.

We listened to you, and we heard loud and clear that our community loves dynamic and purposeful cards. In previous collections we gave you 3D Vignettes in a Christmas way.  Now we’ve found a way to merge a Collection favorite, Shadowbox Vignettes, in a new format.

Becca Feeken with Amazing Paper Grace sent me these lovely dies to start my Christmas Card making!

What’s a Christmas Cascade?
Amazing Paper Grace takes a spin on Christmas by building a new collection around something you already have in your stash – the Shadowbox Dies.  Becca loves building upon what you already have and making it new again.

Christmas Cascade is made up of sets of 3″ motif dies where each set has 3 motifs.  That’s enough for each leaf of your waterfall but again, you could make them the center of your A2 or your A7 card. These, paired with the Waterfall base will allow you to use any dies to make your next Waterfall Card.

The Inspiration behind Christmas Cascade

The inspiration for Christmas Cascade was to produce a motif to use from an enclosure card all the way up to full A7 card with background layers.  This “cardlet” size has been a favorite in our stash because the elements can easily transition into all of the Amazing Paper Grace Collections and to all size cards.  Hint:  This is not the last time you will see “Cardlets”

Today I am really excited to share with you a very elegant card made with the gorgeous new Elegant Holiday Glimmer Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate Christmas Cascade Collection by Becca Feeken. I have embellished this card with the beautiful poinsettias from the Shapeabilities Cinch and Go Poinsettia Etched Dies Etched Dies A Charming Christmas Collection by Becca Feeken as well as adding some accents from the Christmas Cascade Collection – Snowflake Splendor Etched Dies Christmas Cascade Collection by Becca Feeken and the Holly Frame Gala Etched Dies Christmas Cascade Collection by Becca Feeken. The background die is the beautiful Shapeabilities Ornamental Valance Etched Dies Flourished Fretwork by Becca Feeken.

If you want to learn how to make these blue poinsettias I have a free video here on the Amazing Paper Grace Creative Encouragement Facebook Group on Facebook.

I am so happy to have most of my Christmas cards done early for a change and it has been so easy with the Christmas Cascade collection.
