Centre Step Flowering Dogwood Easter Card

Welcome Back

Today I am featuring another card using the Flowering Dogwood Collection.  The flowers are just beautiful and so versatile for both cardstock and vellum.  I had done a batch of flowers in green and pink and they have done several cards including the card in my last post.  I love the combination of Memento New Sprout and  Lilac Posies as they do together really well.

There is still time to put your votes in for the Heartfelt Creations Design team here:  https://www.heartfeltcreations.us/blog/538/21-joyful-springtime-paper-crafting-ideas-sneak-peek-2017-design-team-semifinalists-announced2017-02-25-16-28-25

Instructions:

Using the Spellbinders Pop-up die – die cut the centre step card base from the white cardstock.  Die cut the paper with the branches border using the same die and adhere the paper over the base cardstock.  Add a strip of the pink border to the base of the front of the card.

Select a panel featuring the dove from the paper collection and die cut the centre oval out.  Adhere the frame to the centre step with foam tape and then adhere the centre oval in the centre of the oval.  Die cut the border from the Ornate Borders and Pockets die from white cardstock completely and adhere to the top of the centre step.

Stamp the branches with the Espresso Truffle and colour in the flowers using the Dove blender pen and Lilac Posies.  Colour the leaves with the Pistachio and the branches with the dark brown ink using the blender pen.  Die cut out and cut in the centre to adhere around the oval to make a frame.

To make the pink flowers stamp the flowers using Lilac Posies ink.  Sponge the centre of the flowers with the New Sprout ink and then die cut the flowers.  Softly sponge the edge of the flowers with the Lilac Posies ink.  For the green flowers stamp the flowers with Pistachio ink and sponge the centre with New Sprout, die cut and then edge the flowers with Pistachio ink.  Spritz a little water on the back of the flowers and then shape using the Deluxe Shaping Kit.  Die cut the small and large stamens in green cardstock and roll them up using the quilling tool from the Deluxe Shaping Kit.  Adhere them to the centre of the flowers.  Add glitter using the Art Glitter Dries Clear adhesive along the veins of the flowers.  Add the prills to the centre of the flowers.  Finally add the Krystallos Vintage Glass Glitter to the flowers on the outside.

Add glitter to the dove using the Art Glitter Dries clear glue.

Add the flowers to the card as shown and die cut the tag from the paper using the tag die from the Luggage and Labels die set.

Happy Crafting

Patricia

  1. Stunning! The more cards you publish with this set the more I want it, but His Lordship does not take hints well despite repeatedly telling me he’s stuck for my birthday (a big note saying I want this stuck in a magazine didn’t work!)

    1. Lol – this set is stunning and one I will use time and again. Tell His Lordship it is value for money – you can do wedding cards, Easter cards, Birthday cards, Sympathy cards and much more.
