Pearls and Roses

Kia Ora Koutou

Welcome back and today I want to share a card that I have made recently.  I have been wanting to make this card for several years and finally got round to doing one.  It is not perfect but I now have the measurements to do it again.  For instructions on how to make the basic card please visit YouTube here.

I have cut the base card 5 1/2″ x 8″ as the original measurements were for a different Heartfelt Creations die which is no longer available.  I have used the corner die from the Heartfelt Creations Create A Frame Leafy Border set.  The stitch border is from the Heartfelt Creations Ornate Pocket Accents Die and I have used a Crafter’s Companion embossing folder – Rambling Rose.

The flowers are:

Heartfelt Creations – Classic Rose and Flowering Dogwood.

The Flowering Dogwoods have been made from vellum and I have coloured with Nuvo Embellishment Mousse – Platinum and I have shaped them using the Oakberry Lane shaping mold.

Die cut two decorative dies from the HCD1-7212 Petite Pocket Accents Die set out of white cardstock. Add Ultrafine Crystal glitter and rub over the sticky surface to allow the glitter to stick to the sticky surface. Adhere the second die cut for more depth. Die cut two of the smaller label dies from the HCD1-7203 Ornamental Tags Die set out of white cardstock and trim the ends and adhere to the sides of the label. Add the long edges to each long ends of the label. Adhere the label to the middle of the card with foam tape.

Winning with Papercraft Essentials!!

Kia Ora and Welcome Back

Today I am so excited to finally announce that I have won a cardmaking competition in England!!!

I saw a call on Facebook for people to make a card featuring the Apple Blossom collection of embossing folders (All Occasions Folders) and thought about it and then when the deadline for postage came up I decided to actually enter it.  I made one card but it didn’t look right so I made another card right at the last minute which I was much happier with.  I was up early in the morning to complete it and then posted it that afternoon to England.

I couldn’t believe it when I got an email from the publisher of Papercraft Essentials to say that I had won.  In fact I had to read the email several times before it sunk in!!!  And here is the winning card:

You never know what you can achieve unless you try!

PS the Papercraft Essentials magazine with my card and a feature about me will be available for sale from the 16th November in England.
