Pink Fresh Studio Challenge August 2024 – Hope Your Day Is Wonderful

Kia ora Koutou

I have finally got round to finishing off my cards for the Pink Fresh Studio August 2024 Challenge. This month the challenge is to use washi tape and or use the following inks: Sparkling Rose/Peony, Lavender, Mulberry Blush, Storm, and Sage.

For my first card I have chosen to use the challenge inks to colour the images of the Vines and Roses – Peony, Lavender, Mulberry Blush, Storm and Sage. These are interesting colours to use together and ones that I would not normally put together. So I was pleasantly surprised how the coloured images came together to create a cool colour combination. I normally use a lot of gold and warm colours on my cards so it was nice to use silver for a change.

For my background for my card I have hot foiled the Diagonal Plaid Press Plate with Matte Silver and Silver Speckled Prism foils. The press plates foiled perfectly and the background really sparkles with the Speckled Prism foils.

One of my favourite frame layering dies is the Pink Fresh Studio Notched Corner dies and I use them a lot. Here I have die cut an outside frame as well as in inner frame for the florals and sentiments to be the focus of the card.

The sentiment is also one I use a lot as it can be used for so many different occasions – Pink Fresh Studio Wonderful Sentiments Hot Foil Plate and Die. I have foiled the sentiment in Matte Silver foil and then stacked it with another two plain dies to add to the centre of the card.

To finish I added some silver pearls from Pink Fresh Studio for a clean and fresh look.

Wishing You the Best Pink Fresh Studio

Kia ora Koutou

I had so much fun using the Pink Fresh Studio Diagonal Plaid Press Plate making different backgrounds that coordinate with the flowers that I have made. My card today uses the Summer Shower and Eucalyptus inks that I used to colour the leaves in the Pink Fresh Studio Delighted For You Stamp for the diagonal plaid and it makes the whole card look cohesive and balanced. I also ink blended the lighter yellow and blue tones of these colours for the background inside the frame which helps to make the flowers pop more from the background. I also added an extra layer behind the flowers to give the flowers more stability and dimension and did the same for the sentiment. To finish my card I added some Pink Fresh Studio Glacier gems for some sparkle around the sentiment.

Happy Birthday with Pink Fresh Studio

Kia ora Koutou

I enjoy colouring with alcohol markers but sometimes it is good to use stencils to colour my images as it makes it quick and easy to make a card. When I first got this Pink Fresh Studio Nothing But The Best Stamp & Die Set I wondered how it would look with a die cut edge when I saw a video that Bibi Cameron did on YouTube here using acetate to make a die cut edge be more stable. So I used the same concept but just did it a little differently and I was very happy with how it turned out. I added an extra layer of the die cut edge on top as well as another layer of the flowers to add some dimension to the card.

I also had some fun with embossing the Plaid Press Plate. using my Platinum machine and the lovely soft finish to the embossed edge came from a happy accident. I had tried inking the plate before embossing but it did not work out well and thought I had cleaned the plate but it wasn’t and it came out with this lovely soft aqua colour and it just worked so well with the colours I had used in the flowers. Especially as I had used an aqua colour (Turquoise) to ink the images first and also with the sentiment. I added a 1 1/2″ x 5 3/8″ strip to the bottom of the inside back to be able to show up the flowers better.

I struggle with leaving a lot of white space and as I had some of the plaid embossed card left I added a small strip and another coordinating plain aqua strip to the top of the card to cover the lacy edge from the Pink Fresh Studio Lacey Edgers 1 Dies.

Stamp the flower images from the HCPC-3533 Sun Kissed Fleur Cling Stamp Set in Frost White ink on the vellum and heat emboss with the white Opaque embossing powder.  Colour the flowers with Spun Sugar ink and the leaves with Olive Pastel inks on the front of the embossed vellum.  Die cut with the coordinating die, spritz with water on the back and shape using groove golf tools.  Assemble with a hot glue gun when dry and pierce a hole in the centres of the flowers.  Insert one white bead stamen and white rock candy stamens and set with a hot glue gun.  Add Ultrafine Crystal Glitter to the flowers with Dries Clear glitter on a dry sponge.  Adhere around the circle as shown with a hot glue gun.

To finish, add translucent sparkling sequins to the centre of the circle as shown.
