Pink Fresh Studio July 2024 Challenge

Kia ora Koutou

I am enjoying playing with the Pink Fresh Studio Challenge July 2024 this month. This month the challenge is using Geometric designs on your projects and the coordinating inks are: Cherry Blossom, Mimosa, Marigold, Summer Shower & Eucalyptus.

I have gone totally outside my comfort zone with my first (hopefully) card for this challenge and gone with a black and white theme using the Pink Fresh Studio Stained Glass Die as my geometric element. I have die cut two dies – one from silver glitter paper and one from white cardstock and mixed up this die by putting the white die on top of the silver die upside down to create even more patterns with the die. I have also used the Pink Fresh Studio Essentials Stitched Scallop Square Dies as a diamond in the centre of the card to tie in the diamond geometric theme and also provide a focal point for the sentiment which has been heat embossed with white on black cardstock.

I have coloured the floral images from the Pink Fresh Studio Delighted For You Stamp set using a no line colouring technique and after die cutting the images I have gone around the edges with black Copic marker to help the images blend into the black background. I am not a fan of using grey colours to colour flowers white and for the flowers I used the colours that Dawn from Wplus9 Design demonstrated here and I was very pleased with my first effort. I also used Dawn’s method of adding glitter to the images but next time I will use a much finer glitter but it still looks stunning in real life.

Some silver pearls finish the card and focus on the sentiment.

Pink Fresh Studio Challenge Card March 2024

Kia ora Koutou

Welcome back and today I have another card to share with you today that I made for the Pink Fresh Studio March 2024 Challenge. The challenge for this month was to use frames and the Pink Fresh Studio inks – Mango Sorbet/Fruit Punch, Sunkissed, Sweet Mustard, Eucalyptus, and Ocean Breeze.

For my card I have used the Fancy Circles frames for the frame component and I have used all the inks to colour in the Pink Fresh Studio Nothing But the Best image using the coordinating stencils. I am enjoying these challenges because it makes me use different colour combinations to what I normally use like the pink inks.

To make my card I have made a top folding 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card out of white cardstock. I cut a piece of lighter weight white cardstock and die cut it using the Pink Fresh Studio Sparkling Diamonds Cover Plate and this was added to the front of the card. I die cut two large frames using the Pink Fresh Studio Fancy Circles Frames dies out of white cardstock and stacked them together. I adhered the frame to the front of the card slightly lower than centre using foam tape. I then added one of the extra circles to the inside of the frame.

I stamped the image from the Pink Fresh Studio Nothing But the Best Stamp set on Neenah Solar Crest 80 Ib in Tuxedo ink. I coloured the images with the Challenge inks using the coordinating stencils and then die cut the image. I die cut another plain die and added the coloured image to the top and adhered it to the top half of the circle using foam tape for added dimension and strength.

To complete my card I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in Tuxedo ink on white cardstock and die cut it with the coordinating die. I die cut two extra plain sentiments and stacked the three dies together with the stamped sentiment on top. This was glued to the inside the frame at the base of the circle. Then I added some blue jewels around the sentiment and flowers.

A Paddington Bear Christmas Card

Kia ora Koutou

Christmas is just around the corner and I have a special card I made for a colleague of my husband. the brief was to have Paddington Bear and lots of snow. I purchased a cute Paddington Bear image from Bubblegum Designs from Etsy and printing it on watercolour paper and then made my card around this image. I used the Heartfelt Creations Ornate Window stamp and die set to create a window that can be opened out to look at Paddington Bear in the snow with his presents and Christmas tree beside a cute street lamp. I even added a little robin to the top left of the window frame to further add to the English Christmas theme. I was very happy with how this card turned out.

For the rest of the card I have used other products from Heartfelt Creations and Honey Bee Stamps to add all the embellishments to the card. Scroll past all the photos for the full list of products I have used.

An Amazing Paper Grace Romantic Wedding Card

Kia ora Koutou

Today I am channeling my inner Becca Feeken with a beautiful wedding card made by layering gorgeous Amazing Paper Grace dies. I have always been a big fan of Becca’s designs and how she has used different dies together and added gold accents and this card has been inspired by one of her designs using the Amazing Paper Grace Hannah Elise Layering Frame dies from the Chantilly Lace collection. I have added a decorative tone on tone background to the card with the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month September 2020 Lattice Quadrangle and then added a pretty romantic rose, a pearl encrusted bow, some foliage, a sentiment from the Amazing Paper Grace All Occasions Sentiments and lots of pearls to finish with a stunning wedding card that is a gift in itself. I also wanted the floral embellishments to look like a rose with seed pearl decorations adorning the bride’s hair and to me I feel I have achieved this.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project

I have made a top folding 6″ x 6″ card base out of white cardstock. I layered gold and cream cardstock to the front to make the base for the embellishments. I die cut two decorative background dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month September 2020 out of cream cardstock, adhered them together and then added it to the front of the card.

I die cut a base from cream cardstock and two decorative dies using the Amazing Paper Grace Hannah Elise Layering Frame dies – one from gold cardstock and one from cream cardstock. I stacked these together and added the decorative frame to the cream base using foam strips. I added the gold centre decorative die to the inside of the frame.

I die cut two frames from the Amazing Paper Grace All Occasions Sentiments – one from gold and one from cream cardstocks. I trimmed the gold die down the centre lengthways and adhered both sides behind the cream die ensuring the gold is slightly offset behind the cream die. I then adhered this to the centre of the gold decorative frame. I stamped the sentiment from the Amazing Paper Grace All Occasions Sentiments in Wow embossing ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I then die cut the sentiment out using the small rectangle die from the Amazing Paper Grace All Occasions Sentiments. This was matted with gold cardstock and adhered to the front of the sentiment frame.

I die cut the dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Petite Double Bow and Flowers dies from cream cardstock and assembled the dies to create a bow. I added pearls to the centre of the bow and then added the bow to the top of the sentiment die.

I die cut, coloured, shaped and assembled a single rose from the Amazing Paper Grace Candlewick Rosebud dies. I used Peachy Keen, Rosey Posey and Magenta Hues to colour the rose. I die cut two leaves from the same die set and adhered them to the bottom of the sentiment die as shown. I then adhered the rose over the leaves in the centre.

I die cut several small sprays from the Amazing Paper Grace Fall Label Motifs Dies out of gold cardstock. I added small pearls to some of the sprays and added them around the green leaves along with some plain gold sprays.

To finish I added some pearls to the corners and on the dies as shown.

Amazing Paper Grace Perfect Marriage

Kia ora Koutou

I have a wedding to go to coming up in about three weeks and I thought I would get in early and make a card for the bride and groom. (I am normally leaving everything to the last minute lol). I decided to go with a white and gold theme using the Amazing Paper Grace Clipped Nested Squares as a base for more handcrafted flowers. The sentiment from the Amazing Paper Grace Beautiful Inside and Out Sentiments Stamp set is just perfect for a wedding card (pun intended) and I have used Amazing Paper Grace Candlewick Rosebud and Petite Floral Potpourri dies to created my flowers. I will make a box to coordinate with this card to make it extra special.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project

To make my card I have created a top folding 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ base card out of white cardstock. I then added a 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ gold card to the front of the card. I cut a piece of white cardstock 5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ and scored along all sides at 1/4″ and 3/8″ to create a frame. This was then added to the front of the gold cardstock. I then die cut two large clipped nested squares out of white cardstock and embossed them with the Amazing Paper Grace Orange Peel Embossing Folder. I die cut two large gold frames using the two largest dies from the clipped nested Squares dies and then adhered them over the front of the card overlapping in the middle. I then used the inside nested square from one of the larger gold frames and added it to the centre of the overlapped clipped nested square panels. I die cut a smaller clipped square out of white cardstock and after stamping the sentiment from the Amazing Paper Grace Beautiful Inside and Out Sentiments Stamp set with Jet Black ink in the centre, I adhered it to the front of the gold nested square. I die cut four frames using the next two size down clipped nested squares – three out of white cardstock and one from gold cardstock. These were stacked together and witht the gold die on top. This was then added to the front clipped square panel framing the sentiment.

I then die cut the corner dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Callista Rectangle Shadow Box Frame Dies out of gold cardstock and added them to the corners to finish the frame.

I made the roses from the Amazing Paper Grace Candlewick Rosebud dies which were coloured with Lemon Whip and Ballet Slippers for a soft romantic look. I then added some Cosmic Shimmer Luna Paste – Moonlight Gold to the edges to give the roses an antique shabby chic feel. The large leaves were from the Amazing Paper Grace Cinch and Go IV dies and were die cut from green cardstock. The leaves were also given some shine and glitter using the Luna Paste and were added around the roses. The small yellow and pink flowers were made using the dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Petite Floral Potpourri Dies. I coloured the yellow flowers with Lemon Whip ink and the pink flowers with Raspberry Bliss ink. The lighter green leaves were also from the Amazing Paper Grace Petite Floral Potpourri Dies set. These were added around the flowers and the nested square dies to create a pretty floral bouquet.

To finish my card I have made a butterfly from the Amazing Paper Grace Butterfly Bliss Garden Shutters dies out of vellum and gold cardstock. The vellum was coloured with Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide ink and worked in perfectly with the antique-look roses.

A Sparkly Rainbow Birthday Card

Kia ora Koutou

I recently won a challenge in a Facebook group for one of my cards and I was thrilled with my prize that I received. In it was this gorgeous stencil with no branding on it but I loved it. I am relatively new to stenciling and ink blending so I had another go at a rainbow design but this time I added some sparkle to the ink blending with some Nuvo glitter paste – Moonstone. I was thrilled with the result and I will definitely do this again. I have kept my card very simple so as not to distract from the pretty sparkly pattern and just added a simple white border from the Amazing Paper Grace Hemstitch Rectangles and a white flower die that I embossed from Spellbinders that I have had for quite a while. A simple hot foiled ‘Hello’ from Pink Fresh Studio and a stamped ‘Happy Birthday’ from Honey Bee Stamps finished off this card. I was inspired for my card from a card on Instagram – however that card featured a plain dramatic ink blended background and white accents. I am in my happy space with pastels and sparkles.

Magnolias Just For You

Kia ora koutou

This year I decided it was time to get started learning how to use alcohol markers and started doing classes with Alyce Keegan at Kit and Clowder. I have rediscovered my love for colouring and love love colouring with Copic marker as they are easier to hold in my arthritic hands. I am still building up my stock of markers and also learning new colour blends so I have used one of the colour blends from the Birds in Bloom Marker class. I do love this sweet stamp set from Beccy’s Place that I recently purchased through Krafters Cart and I couldn’t wait to have a go with colouring this. And I was very happy with the result.

I struggle with cutting up images that I have spent time colouring in but in this case I did not lose much and I love how the branch of magnolias look like it is coming from the side of the card and looking out over the window to the sky behind. The card front has been inspired by Dawn at WPlus9Design on YouTube.

My project:

I have created a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ top folding card base. I cut a piece of white cardstock 5 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and scored at 1/4″, 1/5″, 4 3/4″ and 5″ along the 5 1/4″ side. I cut a piece of white cardstock 4″ x 5 1/4: and using the cloud stencil from Waffle Flower I stenciled some clouds using Tumbled Glass ink. This was then added to the front of the card.

I die cut the circle out of the centre of the card using a circle die from the Amazing Paper Grace Fluted Classics circle die. I then embossed using the Honey Bee Stamps Dogwood 3D embossing folder and then I then folded the edges using my bone folder. I die cut a circular fluted frame using the Amazing Paper Grace Circle Fluted Classics die and added it around the circle. I added a piece of acetate behind the circle window with some double sided tape. To complete the front of the card I adhere the edges to the edges of the card front.

I stamped the images from Beccy’s Place Magnolia stamp set on Neenah cardstock in Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured the images with Copic Markers and then die cut the images out using the coordinating dies. I die cut another set of blank dies and adhere the coloured images to these. I adhere the branches around the circle and trimmed the single branch to fit the card front. I added some Wink of Stella to the flowers for some subtle shine.

Finally I stamped the sentiment from Beccy’s Place Magnolia set on black cardstock with Wow embossing ink and heat embossed with white cardstock. I trimmed the sentiment and adhered it to the bottom right of the card with some foam tape. (I would stamp the sentiment before embossing the front next time). And then I added some clear iridescent gems around the flowers and sentiment.

Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – Peony Birthday Wishes

Kia ora Koutou

Welcome back and today I am featuring the stunning Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – Peony die. I have been watching a video on YouTube by Dawn Woleslagle at Wplus9 Design on how to colour the layered flowers from Honey Bee Stamps using ink blending to create depth and dimension. So I purchased the Peony die and had a go and I was thrilled with the result. There is so much texture to the flowers and leaves even though they are actually flat. I will definitely be doing more of this colouring.

My Project

I have created a top folding 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ base card out of white cardstock. I then cut a piece of white glitter paper that has been in my stash for too many years 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and coloured the whole piece with Fresh Pear and Grassy Knoll inks and added it to the front of the card. I then die cut two dies from the Honey Bee Stamps Delicate Daisy A2 Cover Plate Top out of white cardstock. I adhered the two dies together and placed them over the sparkly green card front.

I die cut all the pieces of the Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – Peony die out of white cardstock and coloured them with Light and Medium Carnation inks for the flower and buds and Light and Medium Spruce for the leaves. I assembled the flowers and buds together using some foam tape for dimension. I added the leaves to the bottom right of the card and then adhered the buds around the leaves. The large peony was added using some foam squares.

I stamped the sentiment from the Beccy’s Place Stamp Set – Blue Wren in Obsidian ink on white cardstock and die cut the banner out using the Heartfelt Creations Arrows and Banners Die set. I then adhered the sentiment to the card front with foam squares.

To finish I added some sweet ladybirds from Susan’s Garden Forget-Me-Knots and Ladybugs that I had in my stash and added them around the flowers and leaves. I then added some clear iridescent gems to the centres of the daisies on the decorative daisy die

A Time to Coast Happy Birthday

Kia ora Koutou

I have another nautical birthday card to share with you today featuring the Gina K Time to Coast Stamp set. I had so much fun with this set and I love how I got so many different looks with the one stamp set. Once again this card was really quick and easy to put together and the lovely dies from Amazing Paper Grace really helped to lift it to the next level. I had already done the hot foiling and stenciling and I was thrilled that it fitted so well in this card to make a pretty accent.

My Project

For my card I have created a shaped base card using the Amazing Paper Grace Postage Edges Etched Dies and then die cut the foiled and stenciled image from Pink Fresh Studio – Stained Glass using the inner edge die from the same die set. I have ink blended the background on a spare piece of paper and then stamped the images from the Gina K Time to Coast stamp set. I have die cut the frame using the Amazing Paper Grace Rectangle Fluted Classic Etched Dies and adhered it over the inked and stamped image with some foam tape.
