Have a Wonderful Day with Roses

Kia ora Koutou

I love love love roses and when I saw the new Crafters Companion Vintage Rose 3D Embossing Folder – Timeless Rose I had to get it and it is just gorgeous. I have coloured the image with Copic Markers and then added a stunning frame to showcase the beautiful roses. Of course I had to add some cute butterflies made from Memory Box dies that I have had for many years. I really love this sentiment as it is so versatile and can be used for so many different occasions.

My Project

I have created a side folding 5″ x 7″ card base out of white cardstock. I then cut a piece of X-Press It paper 4 3/4″ x 6 3/4″ and embossed it using the Timeless Rose embossing folder. I coloured the roses and background with Copic markers and adhered it to the card front.

I cut a piece of white cardstock 5″ x 7″ and die cut the frame using the Nos. 3 and 4 dies from the Heartfelt Creations Fancy Classic Oval Dies. I wanted to keep the decorative frame see through so I cut a piece of acetate 4 3/4″ x 6 3/4″ and adhered it behind the whole frame. I then added the decorative frame to the acetate inside the outer frame and cut the inner oval out using scissors (I found it much easier doing it that way). To complete the decorative frame I have die cut the outer decorative frame from gold cardstock and added it to the frame as shown. The frame was then added to the front of the card with foam strips.

I heat embossed the sentiment from the Heartfelt Creations Heartfelt Sentiments on black cardstock using gold embossing powder. I then die cut the sentiment out using a die from the Altenew Featured Sentiments Die Set and added it to the front of the roses with foam strips.

I die cut the butterflies out using Lawn Fawn Pearlescent Paper and Heartfelt Creations Luxe Gold Cardstock. These were assembled and added to the card front.

To finish I have added gold pearls around the frame.

Embossing Fun

Welcome back.

Just a short post as I should really be working on an assignment and doing some business planning.  Plus my craft room is getting packed up ready to move to my new place.

Today I am featuring a couple of cards using some gorgeous embossing folders and a mix of different dies.

First up I have used the All Occasions embossing folder which is highly sought after in a Facebook group that I belong to.  I managed to get this one through a de-stash page on facebook and I was very happy to get it.  I have teamed it up with a Memory Box die Cherry Blossom that I have coloured with copic markers.  The tag is from Spellbinders Nestabilities Scallop Circle set and I have used the lovely stamp from the Framed stamp set which is no longer available from CTMH.  That has to be one of my most used stamp sets as the sentiments are so versatile.  The ribbon is from my stash and the bling is from CTMH.  Cardstock used is CTMH White Daisy and Pixie.

Best Wishes Obsession Impression

Here I have gone back to the white on white theme again with this card.  I love the flowers and dragonflies of this embossing folder from Couture Creations – Hearts Ease.  I have trimmed a piece of cardstock to fit inside the embossed frame and used my CTMH ruler to make the stitch dots.  The butterfly is the Pippi butterfly from Memory Box and the flowers are from Marianne Creatables LR0107.  The sparkles are from CTMH along with the sentiment again from the Framed set.  Once again I have used White Daisy cardstock from CTMH.

I hope you like my new cards which are for sale at Gift Hutt.  My cards are proving very popular there which is great.

Have a good week and Happy Crafting.

The Final Countdown to Close to My Heart New Zealand

Hello

I would like to welcome all my new followers to my blog and I hope that you enjoy coming on my creative journey with me.  I would also like to thank those who take the time to read my posts and also leave comments as well.  I really appreciate the feed back that I am getting.

I was very excited to receive an email this morning from Close to My Heart informing me that we are very close to the launch in New Zealand – the first week in September to be precise.  I can’t wait to start and am starting to de-stash in order to have space and money for my new CTMH products.  The Cricut cartridges look so awesome and I am very impressed with the cards and scrapbook layouts that are coming through from the Australian consultants.

In the meantime I have been doing some scrapbooking and cards.  I am getting through my son’s album and I am now up to his 3rd birthday.  I have used the It’s a Boy stack pack to complete his second year and I am waiting for the cricut cartridges to make some titles to complete them and then I will post a few pictures on here.  I love the colours of this stack pack and they went very well with the photos of James.  I am looking at doing his next album using the Pro-player WOTG kit.  The colours are great and I love the coordinating stamps and shapes that go with it.  It is more appropriate for an older boy as well.

I have also made some more cards for Make Shift.  I haven’t done many get well cards so I have made these using up some of my stash and am pleased how they have turned out.  I am a little disappointed in my Chloe die from Memory Box though.  The cut shape doesn’t seem to pop out quite as easily as my other dies.  I will keep persevering with it and see how it goes.  Anyway, here are the cards:

Have a good weekend everyone and Happy Crafting.

Special cards for the Special person

Welcome back to my blog and thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and leave comments.  I really enjoy getting your feedback.

Here is some more cards for Make Shift and this time I tried to keep to a very simple colour theme.  I love the look of cream on cream, gold and cream and white on white with lots of different textures and shapes. Plus I have added a little bling with some gold glitter cardstock to add some sparkle to a few cards.  My Cuttlebug has had a good workout with the embossing folders and die cuts to create the different textures and patterns.  I have also purchased some dies to make my own flowers and find that they add a different dimension to my cards.
