Amazing Paper Grace Lattice Quadrante Box

Kia ora Koutou

Today I have a box to share with you that I made to coordinate with my last card. I enjoy making boxes and they are so easy to create. I have used the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month September 2020 Lattice Quadrante dies as a frame work for my box and the same colours and embellishments from my card on the box to create this ensemble. This ensemble would be fabulous to give as a gift and the box is perfect to keep treasured keepsakes in it.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

The Amazing Paper Grace Lattice Quadrante Die set has four identical motifs that function as inlays or can be used altogether with a rim to make a rounded central element.

My Project

For my project I made a base box measuring H 2 1/2″, Length 4 1/4″ and Width 4 1/4″. I added a 1/8″ to the top to allow for the lid to fit snugly. I cut a piece of white cardstock (300 gsm is a good weight to make boxes with) 9 1/2″ x 9 1/2″ and scored each side at 2 1/2″ in. I trimmed the ends to make the flaps and then glued the flaps inside the box to create the box. For the top I have cut a piece of white cardstock 9 7/8″ x 8 7/8″ and scored each side 1″ in. I trimmed the ends to make the flaps and then glued them inside to create the top of the box. I have photos showing how I have created the flaps to make the box here.

I die cut two shadow dies out of pale blue cardstock and two decorative die out of white cardstock using the shadow die and the four decorative corner dies. I die cut eight decorative corners out of gold cardstock using the decorative corners and the edge dies. I adhered the gold decorative corners under the white decorative corners slightly offsetting them and then added the decorative dies to the blue shadow base. I glued the box base to the top of one of the decorative squares and the box top to the back of the decorative square to create the decorative finish to the box.

I die cut a plain circle out of blue cardstock and a circle frame out of white cardstock using the dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Candlewick Circle dies. I die cut a plain gold frame to glue under the decorative frame and then added the frame to the blue base using foam tape. This was then added to the top of the box.

I die cut the leaves from the Amazing Paper Grace Cinch and Go III dies out of green cardstock and adhered them over the bottom left of the frame,. I die cut, coloured and shaped the flowers from the same die set, assembled them and added them over the leaves. I die cut small filler flowers from the Amazing Paper Grace Petite Floral Potpourri dies and coloured them in yellow and blue inks, I shaped them and added wire stamens through the centres of the flowers, trimmed the wires and added them to around the larger pink flowers. To finish the bouquet I added some gold leaves from the Amazing Paper Grace Pinkaboo Trellis Dies.

I die cut three ‘With Love’ sentiments from the Amazing Paper Grace With With Love Regalia Card Builder Dies – two from pale blue cardstock and one from gold cardstock. These dies were stacked together with the gold die on top and then added to the centre of the frame.

I made a butterfly from the Amazing Paper Grace Summer Label Motif Dies out of vellum and accented it with a gold body. This was added to the frame as shown.

I die cut eight corner dies using the decorative die and edge dies – four from white cardstock and four from gold cardstock. I adhered the gold dies under the white dies slightly offsetting the gold dies. I then die cut four shadow dies just using the edge dies and adhered the decorative corners to the shadow dies. I trimmed these corners and added them to base of the four sides.

To add the trim to the box top around the sides I cut four pieces of gold cardstock 1/2″ x 4 3/8″, scored along each side of the strip and adhered them to the four sides of the box top. I then cut four pieces of blue cardstock 12″ x 4 3/8″ and adhered them to the centre of the gold strips.

Amazing Paper Grace Gifts For Valentine’s Day

Kia Ora Koutou

Today I have completed an ensemble created with the Amazing Paper Grace Sweetheart Envelope and Notecard dies to go with the Valentine’s Day Card I made here. I have made a small gift box that holds chocolates and a small envelope that would be perfect for a necklace or even a ring! What a perfect way to say I love you on Valentine’s Day. And you could also change the sentiment and create a beautiful ensemble for a wedding as well. I love how versatile Amazing Paper Grace dies are and how easy it is to go outside the box to create so many wonderful gift ideas.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project

To make my gift box I made a box measuring:

Length – 4″

Width – 1 1/2″

Height – 2 “

I started with a piece of cream cardstock 8″ x 5 1/2″ and scored each side 2″ in. (oops omitted to add the long side is 4″).

I then trimmed the ends to create the flaps and then assembled the box by gluing the flaps along the long side of the box.

(Use scrap paper to get the measurements correct before using good cardstock).

I die cut two envelope dies out of gold cardstock – just cutting 2/3rds of the die. I die cut the envelope liner out of the ivory paper and adhered it to the front of the gold panels – I had to trim about 1/16″ at the bottom. I die cut two decorative rectangle panels out of ivory cardstock and the shadows out of gold cardstock and these were glued together. The decorative panel was added to the bottom of the decorative envelope liner of both panels. These were then added to both the long sides with the gold and decorative side facing out. I cut a piece of gold card 5/16″ wide and added it to the base of the box.

I die cut six sets of flowers out of ivory pearl cardstock and assembled them. These were glued to the centre of the decorative dies on each side of the box and I also added the leaves that have been die cut out of green cardstock.

I die cut 6 decorative hearts out of ivory cardstock and 6 shadow hearts out of gold stock using the dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Primrose Facade Dies. I adhered the gold shadow dies behind the decorative shadow dies and then added a heart on the shorter sides of the box. I got some gold thread and added it through the top eyelets of the side panels. I adhered two hearts to each end of the threads by sandwiching the threads between two hearts.

To finish the box I added gold pearls to the decorative dies and to the centres of the flowers.

To make the envelope I die cut the complete envelope using the envelope die from the Amazing Paper Grace Sweetheart Envelope and Notecard Dies out of ivory cardstock. I folded the die cut to create the envelope and adhered it in place. I die cut the decorative heart from the same die set out of ivory cardstock and the shadow out of gold cardstock. The decorative die was added to the top of the gold heart and then added to the top of the envelope. I added a flower and leaves to the top of the heart as shown.

I die cut two extra decorative hearts out of ivory cardstock and added them to each bottom corner and trimmed them to fit.

I added small hook and loop dots to hold the envelope top down to the base.

To finish the envelope I added gold pearls to the flower centres and to the hearts on the bottom of the envelope.

This week I have two projects to show you for Inspiration Wednesday at Heartfelt Creations.  First up is this lovely trinket box that was actually very easy to make.  I had seen a similar box on Pinterest here, but there were no instructions on how to make it so I had to make my own.

HCDP1-285 Camellia Carnation Paper Collection

HCPC-3806 Small Carnation Stamp

HCD1-7164 Small Carnation Die

HCD1-7161 Sweetheart Borders Die

85-glitter Crystal Ultrafine Transparent Glitter

159723 Dries Clear Glue

TSSZ22 Stazon Black Cherry ink

HCST1-401 Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit

Hot glue gun, Die cutting machine, Crafter’s Companion Centura Pearl White Cardstock, Spellbinders Decorative Scallops Die, Stazon Pink Cherry ink, Stazon Forest Green ink

Instructions:

To make the bottom of the box cut a piece of Centura Pearl White cardstock 7 ½” x 9 ½”.  Score each side at 2” and then score on the diagonal at the corners of the card.

Fold along the score lines using a bone folder.  Fold the corner flaps in to create the box and adhere the flaps to the sides of the box with Dries Clear Glue.

Cut two strips of the striped patterned paper at 1 1/16th” x 5 6/8th” for the long side and two strips 1 1/16th” x 3 6/8th” for the short sides of the box.  Adhere them to the sides with Dries Clear glue.  Die cut the largest decorative die from the Decorative Scallops die from the Centura Pearl White cardstock and adhere the base of the box to the top of this die.  Adhere pearls around the base of the box to cover the join.

To make the top of the box cut a piece of Centura Pearl White cardstock 7 5/8th” x 5 5/8th”.  Score each side at 1” and then score on the diagonal at the corners of the card.  Fold along the score lines using a bone folder.

Fold the corner flaps in to create the box and adhere the flaps to the sides of the box with Dries Clear glue.

Cut two strips of pink patterned paper 7/8th” x 5 ½” for the long sides of the box top and two strips of patterned paper at 7/8th” x 3 ½” for the short sides.  Adhere to the sides with Dries Clear glue.  Cut four lace edges from the HCD1-7161 Sweetheart Borders Die set in the Centura Pearl White cardstock.  Trim and adhere to the four sides.  Cut two strips of the  carnations and flowers strip from the patterned paper ½” x 5 ½” for the long sides and ½” x 3 ½” for the short sides and adhere over the edge of the lace trim.  Adhere pearls to the sides on the join as shown.  Die cut the largest decorative die from the Decorative Scallop die from the Centura Pearl White cardstock and adhere to the top of the box lid with the good side facing up.

Cut the patterned piece from the paper collection that measures 5 8/16th ” x 3 8/16th” and adhere to the top of the box.  Die cut the next size down decorative die from the Decorative Scallop edge die set in the Centura Pearl White cardstock and adhere on the top of the box with foam tape.  Cut the small coordinating panel from the patterned paper 2 ¼” x 4 ¼” and adhere to the top with Dries Clear glue.  Add pearls around the edge of both scallop borders.

To create the flowers, stamp the images from the Small Carnation stamp set using Stazon Cherry Pink and Black Cherry inks on Art Foam Paper and die cut using the coordinating dies.  I have used the three largest sizes here.  Sponge the edges of the petals with 3D Stamp Paint – I have used Pink with the Cherry Pink and Carmine Red with the Black Cherry stamped petals.  Add Frosting Powder to the petals with Dries Clear Glue using a damp sponge.  Heat and shape using your fingers and the tools from the Deluxe Flower Shaping kit.  Assemble the flowers using two larger and one smaller petal and adhere together with a hot glue gun.  Take some fluffy white stamens from the Bridal Bouquet – Small set and dark pink Rock Candy stamens and fold in half, poke a hole through the centres of the flowers and pull through the stamens using a small piece of scrap wire.  Add glue to the backs and trim the threads.  Adhere the flowers to the top of the box with a hot glue gun.  Add the red rock candy stamens to a single small flower, poke a hole through the centre of the flower and pull through the stamens using a small piece of scrap wire.  Add glue to the back of the flower and trim the ends before adhering to the box as shown.

To make the leaves stamp the leaf images from the Small Carnation stamp set on Art Foam Paper in Forest Green ink.  Sponge the leaves with Lime Pastel ink and die cut using the coordinating dies.  Sponge the edges with Grass Green stamp paint, heat and shape lightly.  Adhere around the flowers as shown with a hot glue gun.

Add Ultrafine Crystal glitter to the flowers and leaves on the patterned paper with Dries Clear glue.

I hope these instructions are easy to follow but if they are not please feel free to contact me for assistance.

I have another card featuring the Camelia Carnation on a separate post here.  As usual don’t forget to visit the Heartfelt Creations blog for more amazing inspiration from the rest of the Design Team.
