Amazing Paper Grace Fall Label Motifs

We are in the middle of summer in New Zealand but Autumn (or Fall) is not far away with beautiful autumn foliage and the harvest of the summer with acorns, berries and pumpkins. Today I am sharing a card made with the beautiful Amazing Paper Grace Fall Label Motifs Etched Dies by Becca Feeken. Once again Becca shows an impeccable eye for detail in the gorgeous leaves, berries, pumpkins and acorns. This card reminds me of walking through all the fallen leaves in autumn and watching my cat dancing trying the catch the leaves floating in the air. I smell the scent of fires burning and feel the cold chill in the air knowing that colder weather is coming.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project:

I have created a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card base and added a layer of gold cardstock. I have added another layer 1/8″ smaller from white cardstock to the front. I have then added an older Amazing Paper Grace die – Callista Rectangle Shadow Box Die by Becca Feeken to create a pretty texture to the background of the motif. I have die cut the outer label in gold cardstock and two inner decorative motifs in gold and white cardstock. The white decorative motif has been added over the gold decorative motif and slightly offset to allow a glint of gold. I have added the decorative layer to a white background and then added this to the gold motif and added it to the front of the card.

For the leaves and pumpkin motif embellishments I have die cut them out of coloured cardstock and then coloured them with Distress Oxide inks. Because the finish on the leaves looked chalky I added some 3D Crystal Lacquer to them to make them look like they have been caught in autumn rains. I added 3D Crystal Lacquer to the berries to give more dimension.

I stamped the sentiment from the Amazing Paper Grace Seasonal Motif Sentiments Clear Stamp Set from Seasonal Label Motifs Collection by Becca Feeken in black ink on some scrap paper and die cut it out with the sentiment strip die from the Amazing Paper Grace All Occasions Sentiments Etched Dies by Becca Feeken and adhered it to the right of the leaves as shown.

To finish I have added some gold gems.

The orange leaves have been coloured with Mowed Lawn and Spiced Marmalade inks.

The orange pumpkin has been coloured with Mowed Lawn at the base and the rest with Spiced Marmalade. The green at the top of the pumpkin was coloured with Spiced Marmalade and Mowed Lawn at the top of the tendril.

The green leaves have been coloured with Spiced Marmalade and Mowed Lawn.

Frosted Autumn Roses

Kia Ora and Welcome Back

Time for Inspiration Wednesday from Heartfelt Creations.  I have two cards up today and I will put them on separate posts to be easier to read and follow my instructions.

The first card I am featuring is a card that has a very autumnal/wintery feel to it for those in the northern hemisphere.  The warm fire looks very inviting with the frost around the windows and on the flowers.

I have done these roses before here,  but this time I used different colours and when I frosted them with Rajni Chawla’s Frosting Powder they looked like autumn roses touched with a heavy frost.

Instructions

  1. cut a piece of white cardstock at 6” x 12”, score and crease at 6” along the long side to make a base card of 6” x 6”.  Cut a piece of patterned paper 6” x 6” and adhere to the front of the card.
  2. 2. Die cut the lattice out of the Lattice die and sponge with Rhubarb Stalk and Potter’s Clay ink and adhere to the left of the card.
  3. Stamp the image from the HCPC-3796 Winter’s Eve stamp set in Stazon Black on Bristol Smooth cardstock.  Colour the image with the Zig Clean Colour Brush Markers and trim to 3 ½” x 2 ½”.
  4. Stamp the window using image from the HCPC-3794 Window Frame Stamp using Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock and die cut using the coordinating die.  Sponge the window with a combination of Rhubarb Stalk and Potter’s Clay and inks.   Cut a piece of clear cardstock 3 ½” x 2 ½” and adhere behind the window. Adhere the window to the coloured image.  Add the frosted look to the window using Dries Clear glue and Frosting Powder.  Adhere to the card front as shown.
  5. Cut the decorative die from the HCD1-750 Window Box Elements Die in white cardstock and sponge with Rhubarb Stalk and Potter’s Clay and adhere to the top of the window.
  6. Stamp the leaves from the HCPC-3753 Classic Rose Vines stamp using Tuxedo Black on white cardstock.  Sponge with Bamboo Leaves and Rhubarb Stalk and die cut using the coordinating die.  Shape using the Deluxe Flower Shaping kit and adhere up the lattice and around the window as shown.
  7. To make the roses stamp the images from the HCPC-3752 Classic Rose stamp in Pearlescent Poppy on white cardstock.  Sponge the centres with Canteloupe ink and die cut using the coordinating dies.  Sponge the outside of the petals with the Poppy ink and shape using the Deluxe Flower Shaping kit.  Instead of turning the petals over to shape in the centre keep the flowers in a ball.  Roll the smallest petals up and close with Dries Clear Glue.  Add the next size petal set and adhere over the bud.  Continue to add the larger sizes to make the roses in different sizes.  Add Frosting Powder to the flowers using Dries Clear Glue and heat for a frosted look.
  8. Stamp the sentiment from the HCPC-3758 Encourage You stamp in Tuxedo Black on coordinating paper from the Classic Rose Collection and trim.  Sponge the edges with the Pearlescent Poppy ink and adhere to the top of the card as shown.
