An English Country Garden

Kia ora koutou

Today I have a very special card to share with you. I was asked to make a very special birthday card for a very special Grandma who is about to turn an incredible 94 years old and she lived in England. The brief was for roses and alstroemeria flowers as these were her favourite flowers and I thought that I would do a English country cottage scene with different flowers, a lovely seat to sit on and admire the garden and some sweet birdies to fill the air with song. The Heartfelt Creations Gateway Fold cards were perfect for this occasion. I have used many different products from Heartfelt Creations and as I did not have a lot of time I die cut the images from the paper collection rather than colouring them. I am so happy how this turned out and Olya if you are reading this I really really enjoyed making this. Thank you so much for asking me to make this card and I hope your Grandma really loves and cherishes this very special card/gift that has come from the heart from New Zealand.

Scroll past the photos for a full list of the products that I have used in this card. I will also have a video tutorial on my YouTube channel showing you how I have made these roses coming soon.

A Scenic Shadow Box Card

Kia Ora Koutou

Welcome back to a special blog post for Heartfelt Creations featuring the beautiful Camelia Carnation collection on a shadow box card.

Let’s get crafting!

Directions:

Cut a piece of white cardstock 12” x 6”, score at 6” along the long side and fold to create a base card of 6” x 6”.  Cut a 6” x 6” panel from the paper collection and adhere to the front of the card.

To create the shadow box cut a piece of patterned paper with the outdoor scene from the paper collection 4 15/16” x 4 15/16” and adhere to the back of the box.

Cut a 6” x 6” panel from the paper collection and using the shadow box as template draw around the inner edge with a pencil and die cut with the square die from the Cut Mat Create 2A die set.

Die cut the decorative die from the HCD1-7212 Petite Pocket Accents Die set out of white cardstock and trim before adhering to the back of the shadow box front.

Assemble the box and adhere the cut frame to the front of the shadow box and the strips to the sides of the box.  Adhere the shadow box to the card front.

Cut four dies from the HCD-7190 Frame a Card Leafy Borders set out of white cardstock.  Sponge with Viridian ink and add Frosting Powder to the dies.  Adhere to the bottom right and top left of the shadow box.

Stamp the flourish image from the HCPC-3808 Fanciful Carnation Stamp set in Bright Tangelo ink.  Colour with Tea Rose and Leaf Green inks and die cut with the coordinating die.  Shape using the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit and add Crystal Clear glitter with Dries Clear glue on a damp sponge.

Stamp the carnation images from the HCPC-3806 Small Camelia Carnation Stamp set in Bright Tangelo ink on Deluxe Flower Shaping paper.  Colour with Rose Madder ink and die cut with the coordinating die.  Sponge the Edges with Bright Tangelo ink and then shape using the 3D Basic Flower Shaping Mold and fold the edges with your fingers.

Assemble the flowers 3 of the same size and 1 smaller.  Add three peach coloured bead stamens to the centre of the flowers with a hot glue gun.  Trim the ends and add Crystal Clear Glitter to the flowers with Dries Clear glue on a damp sponge.

Stamp the leaf images from the HCPC-3806 Small Camelia Carnation Stamp set in Library Green ink on Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper.  Colour with Leaf Green ink and die cut with the coordinating die.  Shape using the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit.  Add Crystal Clear glitter to the leaves using Dries Clear glue on a damp sponge.

Adhere the flourish to the bottom right corner and then add the flowers and leaves with the hot glue gun.

Stamp the leaf images from the HCPC-3806 Small Camelia Carnation Stamp set in Library Green ink on Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper.  Colour with Leaf Green and Magenta Hue inks and die cut with the coordinating die.  Shape using the 3D Leafy Images mold and when dry add Crystal Clear glitter with Dries Clear glue on a damp sponge.

Trim and adhere the leaves over the top right of the shadow box.

Stamp the rose images from the HCPC-3752 Classic Rose Stamp set in Magenta Hue ink.  Colour the centres with Buttercup ink and die cut with the coordinating dies.  Sponge the edges with Magenta Hue ink and colour the backs of the two smallest images with Magenta Hue.  Shape using the coordinating mold.  When dry assemble the roses and add Frosting Powder glitter to the flowers using Dries Clear glue on a damp sponge.  Adhere the roses over the leaves.

A Little Bit Pink, Blingy and Glittery!

Kia Ora Koutou

Welcome back and today I am sharing a card that I made for my daughter’s friend’s birthday.  The brief was that it had to be pink and lots of glitter and bling.  Of course Heartfelt Creations helped me meet the brief easily.

I love how you can mix and match collections and I have used papers from the Purr-fect Posies and Burst of Spring collections to make this card.  I was inspired by how Rajni Chawla makes cards using lots of layers and foam tape and I hope that I have given it justice.
