Hydrangea Lawns Easel Card

Kia Ora Koutou

Welcome back to my second Design Team post for Dress My Craft.

I am still having so much fun with the Hydrangea Lawns paper and motifs and I really love using the Soft Floral Oriental paper for making flowers.  This paper is so easy to shape using the Golf Tools and the foam mat and the flower shaping possibilities are endless.  For today I have made an easel card using the circle nesting dies which are so versatile.

These little birds are just so cute, and I love the little sentiments that can be customized from the Motif Sheets.  They add some punch to your projects yet do not detract from your artwork.

Watch how I have made this easel card here:

Introducing the Wild Aster Collection From Heartfelt Creations

Kia Ora Koutou

Welcome back and today we at Heartfelt Creations are excited to introduce the Wild Aster Collection.

Warm summer breezes have begun to cool, and daylight hours have started to shorten…tall grasses rustle in the wind preparing to make their way to seed, and leaves slowly begin their tumble to the ground to insulate the earth for the cooler upcoming season. As summer begins to fade, and the bright hues of heat loving florals dim, it is then that the graceful aster takes the limelight and becomes the crowning glory of the autumn season, lending it one last burst of color with their blends of pretty purples, pleasing pinks, and blazing blues! Join us as we bid summer farewell and celebrate the arrival of the autumn season with the Wild Aster Collection from Heartfelt Creations! Take a walk among the last perennial wildflowers of the waning summer season as you delve into a paper collection draped in light and airy asters hued in vibrant fuchsias and pretty purples, all accented with glorious greens, precious pinks and tranquil creams. Enjoy alluring backgrounds filled with dainty lace like accents, grand vintage style stripes, and beautiful brocades, all ready to set the stage for captivating aster arrangements! A lovely assembling of cling stamp sets filled with pleasing aster illustrations unite to create pretty wildflower sprays and elegant bouquets, while a stunning collection of beautifully illustrated aster petal images, when paired with the corresponding dies, join together harmoniously to create light, airy, dimensional aster flowers perfect for creating elegant autumn inspired floral clusters! Having Fun with Heartfelt Creations Ariana Blooms

Welcome back

I hope you all had a good Christmas and got lots of new craft supplies.  I have just received the Heartfelt Creations Ariana stamp and die set and I just love these stamps.  It is strange using the rubber stamps again but these stamps had good adhesion to my acrylic blocks and gave a nice crisp image.  It is also great to have a matching die to save my hands for fussy cutting.  I have had some fun with using different inks and finishes and here are my first efforts.

I have used a combination of Le Vie En Rose papers and Black and Pomegranate cardstock from CTMH for my first card.  I love the combination of the gold embossing on the flowers and the gold Peelcraft edging and corners and the black of the Heartfelt Creations eyelet oval die.  I have cut two sets of flowers to create these flowers.  I haven’t put a sentiment on the front as it blocked the beautiful paper.  I am waiting for some beautiful Spellbinders dies and will look at doing something inside the card instead.  However, I do find that some people like to have blank cards for different purposes.

_DSC0535

Here is a close up of the flowers.  The photos really do not show the vibrancy of the colours.

_DSC0536

I have stayed with a very elegant cream and gold combination for my second card. I have used Peelcraft stickers for the corners, edging and the tag and sentiment.

_DSC0539

_DSC0540

Finally here is a little fun 4″ x 4″ card I have made with this single layer flower and the Raindrops on Roses die from Heartfelt Creations.  I have sponged the centre with Buttercup ink and the edges of the petals with Pomegranate ink.

_DSC0543

Materials used:

Cardstock – CTMH Black, Pomegranate, White Daisy, Colonial White, Buttercup

Paper – CTMH Le Vie En Rose

Stamp – Heartfelt Creations Ariana

Dies – Heartfelt Creations Ariana, Eyelet Oval, Raindrops on Roses

Inks – CTMH Black, Versamark, Pomegranate, Buttercup

CTMH Gold Bling Gems

Peelcraft stickers from my stash

Pearl string from my stash

These cards will be for sale at Gift Hutt when it reopens early in the New Year.

Have a good week and Happy Crafting

I have been looking forward to this stamp set for a long time as it is going to be such an asset to my ever growing stamp collection.  This is great for both cardmaking and scrapbooking projects and if I had not already scrapped my old school photos this would have been perfect for my old black and white photos.

First up I have used the new Jackson papers that is available from the new Seasonals Expressions catalogue which has also been released today.  This is a very masculine paper and I have cut out an envelope using the Artfully Sent cartridge and then added some trims using scraps of the same paper and Cocoa cardstock to turn this into a satchel into which I have added a fussy cut out typewriter from the stamp set with a message.  And yes that is a strip of Timberline that was in the last Idea Book that I had kept just in case, as you do, and this was just perfect for the project.  I just needed to trim it to fit.  I have added some Licorice Opaques which unfortunately are no longer available.

Here is the inside of the card.  I don’t normally put anything inside but I had put a little smudge on the edge so I decorated the edges with strips of the Jackson paper and then stamped the birthday image inside.

Next is a card that I have made with the gorgeous new Blossom papers that is also in the new catalogue.  I have also used the new Shower Flowers stamp set to decorate this thank you card to make it more feminine.  This stamp set is designed to go with the papers and here I have used the matching colours – Sunset, Pear, Glacier with a touch of Honey for the flowers and then fussy cut them out.  I love using the new extra thick twine to finish off cards and here I have used liquid glass to adhere the twine along the sides of the beautiful zip strip.  To finish I have used the new Coral Reef sequins on the small flowers.

The typewriter image goes so well with the Chalk it Up papers and here I have embossed the Flaxen cardstock with the arrows embossing folder and then sanded it to get the white core to add some dimension.  I then matted various layers with the Chalk it Up B&T papers and some more Flaxen cardstock.  I used some retired black twine to add some interest to the background.  I stamped the typewriter image on some scrap Colonial White cardstock and fussy cut it out.  Finally, I stamped the birthday sentiment with Flaxen ink on the paper.

Finally, I have used the now retired Hopscotch papers using a favourite pattern from the Make It From Your Heart Volume 2 pattern 28 and using the same techniques as before but this time as I had very hot and sticky hands the typewriter image smudged a little so I used a scrap piece of Hopscotch papers to paper piece the paper onto the typewriter.  The little pointed finger was a fun element to add to the card.  For the sentiment I have used Sunset ink as it seemed the only colour that would stand out.
