Mother’s Day Feathery Floral

Kia ora Koutou

Today for Inspiration Wednesday Heartfelt Creations has release the gorgeous Feathery Florals collection. There are some beautiful images for colouring and look stunning standing on their own without dimensional flowers. For my Mother’s Day card today I have watercoloured the images with Zig Clean Colour Real Brush Markers and added them to a white on white background with a beautiful decorative oval die and a stunning embossed background. The flowers really pop!

Amazing Paper Grace Quilty Friends

I have another card to share with you today featuring the beautiful Amazing Paper Grace Home Sweet Quilt Collection by Becca Feeken. This collection is so versatile and can be used in so many different ways. Today I am using the other quilt pattern from the Amazing Paper Grace Log Cabin and Flower Mini Quilts in the ‘eclipse’ technique where the pattern is raised rather than just an inlay design. The ‘eclipse’ technique is very simple and uses stacked dies to raise the shape above the rest of the card to create a shadow. This technique also reminds me of a video where twine was added to a leather bound manuscript to create a raised pattern on the manuscript front. The stitched edges of the inlaid pieces also reinforce the effect I was trying to achieve.

You can see the other card I have made using the same die here.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project:

My base card is 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ and I have layered a slightly smaller plain card on top. I have die cut the largest postage edge die from the Amazing Paper Grace Square Postage Edge Dies out of white cardstock and layered onto the front of the card with foam. I then die cut the pretty background paper using the coordinating plain stitch edge die from the same set and adhered it to the front of the postage edge die. I die cut the second largest picot edge die from the Amazing Paper Grace Square Picot Petite Edge Dies in white cardstock and adhered it over the pattern paper.

To create the ‘quilt’ I have die cut a plain base out of white cardstock. I die cut three ‘quilt’ dies using the outline and inner dies from white cardstock. I stacked the three outline dies together and adhered it to ‘quilt’ base. I then die cut the ‘quilt’ from the pattern paper using the inner and frame dies. The outline was added to the stacked white dies and then I inlaid the inner pieces to the ‘quilt’ and this was added to the front of the card.

I stamped the sentiment from the Amazing Paper Grace Quilty Hugs Sentiment Stamp set onto white cardstock and die cut it with the sentiment die from the Amazing Paper Grace Filigree Eight Point Star Dies and adhered this to the front of the card as shown with foam strips.

To complete the card I have handcrafted roses from the Amazing Paper Grace Candlewick Rosebud dies and die cut the leaves from green cardstock. The leaves have been lacquered with 3D Crystal Lacquer and I have added Ultrafine Crystal glitter to the roses with clear gloss gel medium.

A Special Christmas Ensemble

Kia ora Koutou

Every year at Christmas time I like doing something special for my children. They usually get vouchers for Christmas but I like to make a special card, a gift card holder and a box of their favourite chocolates. This year I used a combination of Amazing Paper Grace and Spellbinders products to make a coordinating set for my daughter.

My Projects:

My daughter loves cats so for my card I have added a sweet cat with some Christmas foliage to the front of the gorgeous Holiday Labels Motifs Dies in red and gold. The largest stitched edge die from the rectangle Amazing Paper Grace Postage Edge dies is the perfect size to trim the hot foiled background to fit the 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card base. A hot foil sentiment on red cardstock finishes this card perfectly.

The Amazing Paper Grace October 2022 Die of the Month – 3D Poinsettia Surprise Envelope made the perfect basket to add small individually wrapped chocolates. I have continued with the red and gold them and used a gold cord to tie the top together. I have decorated the front with some Christmas foliage.

Finally I have made an envelope for the gift voucher using the December 2021 Die of the Month – Enchanting Pocket Notecard, Tag and Envelope. The Christmas foliage helped to tie all the different elements to create a stunning ensemble and this took very little time to complete and for once I had my projects finished well before Christmas Day!

Kia Ora Koutou

I have a special shaped slimline card to share with you today featuring the beautiful HCD3-7446 Slim Gateway Rectangle Die and the Ornate Peacock collection by Heartfelt Creations. There is so much detail in the gorgeous slimline die that I was reluctant to put too much detail on the front to cover it. The floral sprays seem to float on the card and the colours really pop!
