Feel Better with Zinnias

Welcome back and today I am happy to announce the debut of the new Summer Garden collection from Heartfelt Creations. This is such a bright and summery collection with stunning flowers and beautiful papers.

For my project I have made an easel get well card that is sure to put a smile on the recipient’s face.

Instructions: 

Front of card: Cut a piece of Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper 10” x 7”, score at 2 1/2″ and 5” along the long side and fold to create the easel card. Cut a piece of white Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper 5” x 7”. Cut a piece of purple patterned paper 5” x 7” and sponge the edges with Pretty Petunia ink before adhering to the front of the 5” x 7” white card and then adhere to the bottom half of the front of the easel. Die cut the outer decorative die from the HCD1- 7261 Booklet Frame Dies set out of gold cardstock and adhere to the front of the purple paper with two layers of heavy cardboard. Die cut the page using the largest die from the HCD1-7260 Booklet Basics Die set out of the patterned paper with the butterfly on the right side and sponge the edges with Pretty Petunia ink. Stamp the sentiment from the HCPC-3848 Cheerful Notes Sentiments Cling Stamp Set in Violet ink on the right side using a stamp positioner. Adhere to the front of the decorative booklet frame die. Die cut the bookmark out of gold cardstock and adhere to the centre of the booklet frame as shown.

Stamp the flower images from the HCPC-3923 Large Garden Zinnia and the HCPC-3924 Small Garden Zinnia Cling Stamp Sets in Violet ink on Deluxe flower Shaping Paper. Colour the centres with Vivid Chartreuse ink and die cut with the coordinating dies. Sponge the edges front and back with Pretty Petunia and Lilac Posies inks and then shape using the coordinating molds and assemble with hot glue. Add Ribbit Prills to the centres of the flowers and Crystal Clear to the petals with glossy gel. Adhere to the left side of the booklet dies as shown.

For the buds stamp the small flower images from the HCPC-3923 Large Garden Zinnia in Library Green ink on Deluxe flower Shaping Paper. Colour with Vivid Chartreuse and Bamboo Leaves inks and die cut with the coordinating dies. Colour the backs of the flowers with Vivid Chartreuse ink and shape using the coordinating molds and assemble with two purple flowers and one green flower with the stamped side outside, and add Crystal Clear glitter using glossy gel. Adhere around the flowers as shown.

Stamp the leaf images from the HCPC-3923 Large Garden Zinnia and the HCPC-3924 Small Garden Zinnia Cling Stamp Sets in Library Green ink on Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper. Colour with Vivid Chartreuse and Bamboo Leaves inks and die cut with the coordinating dies. Colour the backs with Vivid Chartreuse and shape using the coordinating molds. Add Crystal Clear glitter using glossy gel and adhere around the flowers as shown.

Stamp the ladybug images from the HCPC-3923 Large Garden Zinnia and the HCPC-3924 Small Garden Zinnia Cling Stamp Sets with Jet Black ink on Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper. Colour the bodies with Vermillion ink and die cut with the coordinating dies. Shape using the coordinating mold and then add Crystal Lacquer to the bodies. When set, add to the flowers and leaves as shown.

Base of card: Cut a piece of purple patterned paper 4 15/16” x 7”, sponge the edges with Pretty Petunia ink and adhere to the base of the card. Die cut the outer decorative die from the HCD1- 7261 Booklet Frame Dies set out of gold cardstock and adhere to the front of the purple paper with a layer of heavy cardboard. Die cut the page using the largest die from the HCD1-7260 Booklet Basics Die set out of the patterned paper with the butterflies and sponge the edges with Pretty Petunia ink and adhere to the front of the gold decorative booklet frame. Die cut the ornamental tag from the HCD1-7203 Ornamental Tags Dies set out of gold cardstock and adhere to the base of the card as shown with foam tape. Stamp the sentiment on light green patterned paper and die cut with the coordinating rectangle die from the ornamental tag. Sponge the edge with Vivid Chartreuse and adhere to the front of the ornamental tag.

To finish the card, fussy cut the butterfly from the patterned paper and then adhere to the left side of the tag as shown. Add Ultrafine Crystal glitter to the flowers and butterflies on the top and base paper.

  1. Zinnias are a favorite flower of mine. My daughter has a “picking” garden with zinnias in it, and my granddaughter loves to bring them inside.

    I love the little ladybugs on your card, and, of course, the gorgeous card itself! It will certainly make a nice display in the home of the recipient!
