Cream and Gold Elegant Cards

Happy New Year

Today I am featuring some cards that I have just made.  I know that foil card has been around for a while, but I have only just discovered it and I LOVE the effects and contrasts you can get with it.  I love the elegance combining gold and cream and they work well with a 50th anniversary card.   And of course I had to use the Heartfelt Creations Classic Rose stamp and die sets to add the flowers and embellishments.

This  first card has been inspired by Jeannie Donnolly I had seen on Pinterest.

20170102_073834

I find it difficult making two cards the same and this one is no exception.  I had actually cut one of the Maggie dies incorrectly but ended up layering the dies under the main die image and used the Classic Border Basics cutting die from Heartfelt Creations to cut a strip to cover the gap and I was happy how it turned out.20170101_184549

The Gold Majestic Circle die from Spellbinders is a very interesting die with lots of lovely embossed textures on it and once again it is lovely for numbers for a milestone card.

Finally, here is a card that I made that has no sentiment for any occasion but I think it looks very elegant for a special occasion.  I often get requests for plain unadorned cards.

Pretty in Pink Sparkle

Welcome back

This week I have got two cards for you.  I have been playing with the Heartfelt Creations Arianna Blooms stamp and die and glitter.

20161203_100105-2

20161203_100053-2

I was really pleased with how these flowers turned out and used these cards as practice.  I am looking forward to my order coming on Monday with the new edge dies and fold out cards where I have an idea for using them so watch this space…

Flower Making Tutorial:

  1. I have stamped the flowers with Memento Lilac Posies and sponged the centres with Memento New Sprout before cutting out.
  2. I then die cut the flowers out and sponged the edges with the Memento Lilac Posies.
  3. I spritzed the back with some water and shaped the flowers using my Heartfelt Creations Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit.
  4. After leaving the layers to dry I then glued the flowers together with Art Glitter Dries Clear Glue.
  5. I then used the glue on the edges of the petal and applied prisma glitter on the glue when I then left to dry.
  6. To finish the flowers I have put some more glue in the centres of the flowers and sprinkled some Lettuce Entertain You Prills.
  7. For the leaves I have stamped with Memento Northern Pine.  I then used a sponge dauber to colour the leaves with Memento New Sprout.  I then used a sponge to sponge Memento Bamboo Leaves on the edges to create some dimension.

Materials used:

  • Cardstock – CTMH White Daisy, American Crafts Patterned cardstock – lilac (I think)
  • Stamps – Heartfelt Creations Arianna Blooms, CTMH Someone Special, Heartfelt Creations Classic Message
  • Dies – Heartfelt Creations Arianna Blooms, Raindrops on Roses, Spellbinders Floral Ovals, Majestic Labels 25

Summer Roses

Welcome Back

Roses are my favourite flowers and I can’t get enough of the Heartfelt Classic Rose stamp and die set.  The flowers are the most realistic roses I have been able to make so far.  I have played around with lots of different colours and shapes and love them all.  Today’s card features blue roses on beautiful green papers from the Sweet Lullaby Paper Collection to make a stunning card.  I have used the lovely Spellbinders die Amazing Grace to

20161024_185044-2

To make the roses I have stamped the images on white cardstock with Versamark ink and then embossed with Stampendous Aged Ivory Embossing Powder.  Before I have die cut them I have coloured in the centres with Memento summer Sky ink.  20161021_173253

After die cutting I first misted the die cuts lightly with water and then I shaped them using my Heartfelt Creations Deluxe Shaping Kit to make these roses.

For the leaves I have coloured with Memento Bamboo Ink and then went over the top with Viva Decor Stamp Paint Green – which gave them a lovely shimmer.

I have added some glitter on behind the Decorative Oval die cut by using Jac paper on the die cut and then putting the Decorative oval on top and then putting glitter over it.

Welcome back

I am sorry I have not been posting lately, but I have not been very well and not been able to do much crafting which is frustrating.  However, I did manage to make a couple of cards yesterday which I was pleased about.

I have just received a shipment from Spellbinders of a range of dies and embossing folders.  Spellbinders have a lovely range of embossing folders that coordinate with their nestabilities dies including this Framed Labels Eighteen.  I love this folder because of the different textures in it.  I have paired this embossed cardstock with some lovely flowers from Heartfelt Creations Vintage Floret and Delightful Daisies ranges.  Note to self – it is not really a good idea to use a hot glue gun when your hands are shaking a little.  However, the flowers turned out well.  I have rubbed some Cosmic Shimmer Blush over the roses but it is hard to see in the photo.

I do apologise for the quality of the photos – they were taken very quickly with my phone last night.

Embossing Fun

Welcome back.

Just a short post as I should really be working on an assignment and doing some business planning.  Plus my craft room is getting packed up ready to move to my new place.

Today I am featuring a couple of cards using some gorgeous embossing folders and a mix of different dies.

First up I have used the All Occasions embossing folder which is highly sought after in a Facebook group that I belong to.  I managed to get this one through a de-stash page on facebook and I was very happy to get it.  I have teamed it up with a Memory Box die Cherry Blossom that I have coloured with copic markers.  The tag is from Spellbinders Nestabilities Scallop Circle set and I have used the lovely stamp from the Framed stamp set which is no longer available from CTMH.  That has to be one of my most used stamp sets as the sentiments are so versatile.  The ribbon is from my stash and the bling is from CTMH.  Cardstock used is CTMH White Daisy and Pixie.

Best Wishes Obsession Impression

Here I have gone back to the white on white theme again with this card.  I love the flowers and dragonflies of this embossing folder from Couture Creations – Hearts Ease.  I have trimmed a piece of cardstock to fit inside the embossed frame and used my CTMH ruler to make the stitch dots.  The butterfly is the Pippi butterfly from Memory Box and the flowers are from Marianne Creatables LR0107.  The sparkles are from CTMH along with the sentiment again from the Framed set.  Once again I have used White Daisy cardstock from CTMH.

I hope you like my new cards which are for sale at Gift Hutt.  My cards are proving very popular there which is great.

Have a good week and Happy Crafting.

A Bit of Old and A Bit of New

Welcome back.

Thank you for the lovely comments on my last post.  I am pleased to say that the wedding card sold very quickly in Gift Hutt and it will make a very special card to keep for the wedding couple.

This week I am featuring a couple of cards using up some of stash.  The first card features some apricot/orange lilies that I picked up a while ago at a local Emporium.  The die cutting and embossing make a very elegant background for the flowers tied with a simple bow.  It was amazing the difference the embossing made on the CTMH Sunset card.  It hasn’t been embossed along the grain, but I like the effect on the embossing with a little white showing through.

Materials used:

Cardstock – CTMH White Daisy and Sunset

Die – Spellbinders Nestabilities Timeless Rectangle, Nestabilities Labels Eighteen

Embossing folder – CTMH Damask

I have used a piece of vellum ephemera inside the frame to add a different look to the card.  The embossing helps the frame stand out more and I have used ribbon from my stash.  This card has also sold very quickly in Gift Hutt as well.

Finally I have made some flowers using the Heartfelt Creations Ariana stamp and die set.  I have used a basket die cut that I purchased many years ago and sponged it with a combination of CTMH cashmere and desert sand inks.  I have sued ribbon and lace from my stash to complete this card.

White Elegance

Welcome back.

I am now feeling a lot better now after some heavy duty hospital treatment (thank you for your kind words) and I have now got my new toy – a Fiskars Creativity Fuse System that embossess and die cuts together.  I am very happy with it as it is die cutting so much better than my little old cuttlebug.  Plus it also embosses in the one roll which saves me turning the dies over and re doing them.  I won’t retire the cuttelbug yet as it is still useful to have it for simple jobs.  I noticed that when I emboss now with the new machine that there is minimal distortion compared to what I was getting.

Today I have a couple of cards that I have made using my new dies and machine.   I love the effect of white on white cards using different textures and finishes.

First up is a wedding card made from CTMH White Daisy cardstock.  I have used a variety of products here from Heartfelt Creations Ariana Blooms to Spellbinders Dies and CTMH embossing folders and stamps.  It was amazing the difference it made when I put the embossing panel on the back of the card.  I embossed the die for the frame and then cut the frame out to add more dimension to the card.

Here is another card that I have made with the Timeless Rectangle die.  This time I have kept the card simple and used another beautiful die I have had for a while on the front.  I couldn’t decide where to put the sentiment on the front and so I put it in the middle of the card instead.   The photo does not really do the card justice unfortunately.

Spellbinders frames

Welcome back.

I apologise for being missing in action but I have had a very busy few weeks and just haven’t had much chance to do much crafting.  My house is on the market and I am not allowed to make a mess!!!  Never mind I am hopeful that I can get back into crafting soon and I have a new die cutting machine coming so I can’t wait to use that.  Watch this space….

I have managed to make some cards though before I had to pack my supplies away and here is one card that I have made using some flowers and leaves from my stash that I bought many years ago.  I have been playing around with some Spellbinders dies and embossing folders and tried to do double embossing as demonstrated here, but my poor overworked Cuttlebug did not like it.  So I ended up doing another frame to go under the frame.  My embossing ended up a little flat so I added these beautiful flowers to cover them.  The sentiment is from CTMH Framed.  I found the inner frame looked a little naked so I added some pearls from my stash.

Die Happy with Heartfelt Creations

Welcome back

I should really be finishing off my last minute Christmas cards but I have just received some new goodies from Heartfelt Creations so I just had to have a play.  I am still waiting for some more products to arrive so hopefully I will be able to play over the Christmas and New Year break.

These cards feature the Le Vie En Rose papers and cardstock from CTMH.  I love the new Eyelet Oval dies from Heartfelt Creations and here are the first two cards I have made using it.  There are three dies in this set which makes up to six different cuts which makes it very versatile.

#CTMH Le Vie En Rose, #Heartfelt Creations Eyelet Oval

First up I have cut the oval with the lacy edge out of Pomegranate cardstock.  I then cut the beautiful floral paper out of the inner oval and adhered it to the Pomegranate die cut.  I used the damask embossing folder on the Black cardstock, but unfortunately, I did not go with the grain and the finish was not so good so I just sanded the rest of the cardstock and it gives a distressed look which highlights the Pomegranate die cut very well.  I have then matted the Black cardstock with more Pomegranate cardstock.  I finished with a flower that I made using this technique here with some lace and an organza ribbon from my stash.

#CTMH Le Vie En Rose, #Heartfelt Creations Eyelet Oval

This second card features Black cardstock cut out using the lacy eyelet die and this time I have cut out the centre of this and placed the cut over the oval floral paper to create the look of a frame.  I think that the white core of the cardstock was not so successful and I may look at using another brand next time.  I have used the black and white quatrefoil design paper for the background and matted it on Black cardstock.  I then used some complements from the Le Vie En Rose collection to add some dimension and finished off with an organza bow from my stash.

#CTMH Le Vie En Rose, #Heartfelt Creations Raindrops on Roses

My final card features the Raindrops and Roses die.  I have used Pomegranate and Black cardstock for the back ground and then cut the circular die in half and place on either side of the black and white striped paper matted on the Black cardstock.  I found some black and white ribbon from my stash which went perfectly with the colour scheme.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is from CTMH Cursive Birthday and the die cut is a Spellbinders Die D-Lites – Frame One.  It looks quite dramatic with the colours and shapes.

Materials used:

Cardstock – CTMH Black, White Daisy, Pomegranate

Paper – CTMH Le Vie En Rose

CTMH Le Vie En Rose Complements

Stamp – CTMH Cursive Birthday

Ink – CTMH Black, Pixie, Canary

Dies – Heartfelt Creations Eyelet Oval, Heartfelt Creations Raindrops on Roses, Spellbinders D-Lites – Frame One

Gold Bling Gem

Lace, ribbon, pearl string from my stash.

These will be available for sale at Gift Hutt.

I would like to take the time to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and I hope that Santa brings you lots of lovely craft supplies to play with in the New Year.

Elegant Cards

Welcome back

This week I will be featuring some cards that I have made from some beautiful paper that my daughter had given me for Christmas.  I only had an A4 sheet of paper and I have managed to get these three cards with enough paper for at least one or two more cards.  This paper was a lovely subtle blue/grey and had a white embossed damask pattern on it.

First up is a screen card.  I sat looking at it for a couple of weeks as I was not sure what else to put on it.

#Screen card elegance

Here is a close up of the lovely cameo from the Sweet Moments stamp set (CTMH).  I have cut the scallop oval from the Spellbinders Beaded Oval die and the gorgeous cameo came from a CTMH stamp set and I have embossed it with Ranger silver embossing powder.

#Screen card elegance

I decided to just put a small necklace of CTMH bitty sparkles to just add a little bling.  What do you think?

I have used some lovely white glitter paper on the background and then used the Spellbinders Lacey Squares dies to layer with the beautiful paper.  It is really hard to show the lovely colours in a photograph.  The butterfly and the sparkle flourish fitted in really well with the size of the square.
