Golden delight

I have been saddened to hear off all the incidents around the world – Spain, Italy, Switzerland and Florida. My thoughts go out to everyone that is affected by these tragedies. I hope this photo helps send a little cheer to everyone out there in blogosphere.
I was a little concerned as my daughter is travelling over in Europe at the moment as had been in Italy last time I heard from her. I was really pleased she rang me today to reassure me she was ok.
I hope you all have a good day and Happy Snapping.

Tears of Spring

Welcome
We have had a torrid time of it lately with severe storms and just recently an earthquake on Sunday night. Fortunately, we have been very lucky but it has been a wake up call to remind us that we are living in the Shaky Isles.
However, yesterday I noticed that the daffodils are starting to come and heralding the onset of spring. We still have another month to go before we are officially in spring but it is heartening to see the signs of the seasons changing and that we are heading towards better weather.
I think this jonquil is called Early Cheer and it certainly does cheer us up with their colour and scent.
I hope you all have a great day.
Happy snapping

More Sad news

Welcome back.

Raindrops on Bower Vine

I was really sad to hear today that Creative Memories in America will be closing down at the end of the month.  My thoughts go out to all the Creative Memories Consultants as I know what they are going through, as we have been through it all down under just a very short time ago.  We are fortunate that we have been given a lifeline by Close to My Heart.  I hope all the Consultants find another door opening for them like it has for us here.

My thoughts also go to the families of the firefighters lost in the wildfires in Arizona, USA, as well.  It is tragic when men, in the prime of their lives, fighting the ferocity of nature lose their lives protecting others.

Calm after the Storm

Last week we had a terrible storm – the worst in 40 years and it was a very scary experience. This week though, the weather has been very calm and peaceful and I took the opportunity to go down to the Hutt River and take some photos of the snow clad mountains as a backdrop on the river. It was looking stunning today and the higher level of water makes for a better composition, I think. Mother Nature certainly gives us some rewards for the down times.
I hope you all have a great day.

Pretty Please Pat Me!

Pretty Please Pat Me! by Patricia Manhire
Pretty Please Pat Me!, a photo by Patricia Manhire on Flickr.

The weather has not been great lately and I have not had a chance to go out with the camera. So my cat Sox has been a good subject for me. Here is another photo of him looking like he wants a pat. I like the light on him and it gives him a much softer face as well. He is a very cute and very demanding cat and at times very photogenic!
I am still making cards and will upload some more shortly.
I hope everyone has a great week and I will catch up with you shortly.

Defiant in the winter sunshine

Another photo of the day. The late afternoon sun had a golden glow to it and I grabbed my camera and rushed outside to take photos of the last few remaining flowers in the garden. I can now understand why they call it the Golden Hour.
We are now in the middle of winter so everything is looking a little bleak at the moment. So we make the most of the sunshine and the flowers that we have.

Reaching for the sun

Just a little photo to cheer people up after the last few days. I was really pleased at how this photo turned out and I did not have to do a lot to improve this photo. The daisy seems to just pop out on the page. Some days I can get great photos and other days I delete a lot, but I am improving.
I hope you all have a great day.
