Amazing Paper Grace Sympathy Card

Kia ora Koutou

My card today has been inspired by a card that I saw on Pinterest and I immediately thought the beautiful Amazing Paper Grace Emmeline Treillage die would make a beautiful background to some gorgeous handmade flowers using the Amazing Paper Grace Cinch and Go Blossoms Dies and leaves and a butterfly from the Amazing Paper Grace Summer Label Motif Dies. I have kept the colours very muted and limited to blue, green and white with a touch of lemon to keep with the sympathy theme of the card.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project

I have created a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ base card out of white cardstock. I cut a piece of pale blue cardstock 4 1/8″ x 4 3/8″ and adhered it to the inside back of the card. I then die cut the lacey front out using the beautiful ‘daisy chain’ die from the Amazing Paper Grace Emmeline Treillage die. I die cut another decorative die from a piece of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ white cardtock and adhered it to the front of the card for more strength.

I die cut three decorative ovals from the Amazing Paper Grace Double Halo Oval dies and stacked the decorative frame together and adhered it to the front of the card. I then stamped the sentiment in black ink on one of the inner ovals and adhered it to the inside of the frame.

I die cut the leaves out of two different colour green cardstocks using the dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Summer Label Motif Dies and adhered them to the left of the oval. I then made the dimensional flowers from flower shaping paper using the flower dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Cinch and Go Blossoms Dies. The blue flowers where coloured with French Ultramarine ink and the smaller flowers were coloured with Citrus Burst inks. Once these were assembled I adhered them over the leaves.

I made the butterfly out of white, blue and black cardstocks using the butterfly dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Summer Label Motif Dies and adhered it to the right of the oval as shown.

To finish the card I have added some white pearls to the centres of the flowers and the daisies on the decorative background die.

Today’s project was created with products provided by Heartfelt Creations.

Scroll down past the photos for instructions on how to make this card.

Instructions:

Cut a piece of Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper 10” x 7”, score at 5” along the long side and fold.  Die cut the decorative edge from the front using the edge die from the HCD2-7403 Fancy Flourish Border Die.  Cut a piece of pale yellow pattern paper 4 7/8” x 6 7/8” and adhere to the card inside back.  Die cut the decorative die using the edge die and decorative die out of Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper.  Add Frosting Powder to the die and then adhere to the card inside back as shown.

Die cut the other half of the decorative die from the HCD2-7403 Fancy Flourish Border Die using the decorative die and the edge die out of Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper.  Add Frosting Powder using Dries Clear glue on a dry sponge.  Cut a piece of purple pattern paper 6 3/4” and 3 3/4”.  Using the decorative die as a guide die cut the edge using the edge die from the HCD2-7403 Fancy Flourish Border Die.  Adhere the decorative die over the purple paper and then adhere to the left front of the card.

Stamp the leave images from the HCPC-31020 Iris Garden Petals Cling Stamp Set in Olive ink on Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper.  Colour the images with Leaf Green and Olive inks and die cut with the coordinating dies.  Colour the backs of the leaves with Leaf Green ink and shape using the coordinating mold.  Add 3D Crystal Lacquer to the leaves and allow to dry. Adhere the leaves to the front as shown with foam squares.

Stamp the flower images from the HCPC-31020 Iris Garden Petals Cling Stamp Set in Citrus Burst inks on Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper.  Colour the centres of the flowers with Fresh Lemon ink.  Colour the petals with Buttercream ink and die cut with the coordinating dies.   Colour the flowers on the backs with Buttercream ink and the edges with Sunflower ink.  Shape the petals using the coordinating mold.  Pierce the centres of the petals and assemble the flowers.  I have used 3 petals per flower – trim one set of petals in the centre. Insert gold glitter stamens in a petal that has be cupped inwards and add one trimmed petal using a glue gun.  Add the second complete set of petals cupped downwards and secure with hot glue.  Add the last trimmed petal to the centre of the petals facing downwards using the glue gun.  For the yellow and purple flowers I have used gold glitter stamens to the centres. Add Crystal Clear glitter using clear gloss gel medium on a paintbrush. Add Go Man Go Prills  to the flowers as shown.  Trim the wires and adhere  over the leaves as shown.  Roll a single petal to create a bud and add Crystal Clear glitter using clear gloss gel medium with a paintbrush.  Adhere under leaves as shown.

Stamp the small leaf images from the HCPC-31022 Iris Garden Accents Cling Stamp Set  in Olive ink on Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper.  Colour with Leaf Green ink and die cut with the coordinating dies.  Adhere around the flowers as shown.

Stamp the small floral accent images from the HCPC-31022 Iris Garden Accents Cling Stamp Set in Jet Black ink on Iris cardstock.  Colour the images with Zig Clean Colour Clear Brush Markers and die cut with the coordinating die.  Add Purple Flower Pearls and I Cannot Tell a Lilac Prills to the flowers and then adhere around the flowers.

Die cut two decorative tag dies from the HCD1-7203 Ornamental Tags Die out of silver cardstock.  Adhere the tags together and adhere to the inside back of the card with foam tape.  Stamp the sentiment from the HCPC-3843 Special Birthday Sentiments Cling Stamp set in Deep Purple ink on purple pattern paper.  Die cut the sentiment out using the coordinating rectangle die and adhere to the front of the tag.

Stamp the small butterfly images from the HCPC-3953 Small Floral Butterfly Cling Stamp in Versamark Ink on vellum and heat emboss with silver embossing powder.  Die cut with the coordinating dies and adhere the butterflies on the card as shown.
