Other – Spellbinders Victorian Numbers, Cotton Wool, Imagine If  Sleeps to Santa Shelf, Prismacolour pencils – 1019, 943, 1085, 1079, 103, 1086, 016, 1003, 109, 912, 122, 1052, 1065, 1060, Voodoo Molly Vintage Paint – Classic White, Americana Decoupage adhesive, Heat Gun, Stazon Forest Green

Instructions:

Paint both the bottom and the top of the shelf with the Voodoo Molly Vintage paint and allow to dry.  Trace around the edge of the back of the shelf and the top on the snow and deer scene paper from the Winter’s Eve collection.  Trim and adhere to the front of the pieces and sand to get a smooth edge.  Assemble the shelf according to the instructions using Dries Clear glue.    Using the green stamp paint paint the leaves of the top and the holly berries with the carmine stamp paint on the top of the shelf.

Using the Dries White Glue add snow effects on the trees on the top and bottom of the shelf with a dusting of frosting powder.

Using Glue Gloss add Crystal Clear to the Merry Christmas letters on the top.

To make the poinsettias stamp the images from the HCPC-3680Sparkling Poinsettia stamp in Stazon Teal and Black Cherry inks on the Art Foam paper and die cut with the coordinating die.  Sponge the blue edges with the Blue stamp paint and the red edges with Carmine stamp paint.  Using a damp sponge dab Dries Clear glue on the petals and sprinkle with Frosting Powder.  Heat the petals with a heat gun to frost and shape the poinsettias.  Adhere around the top of the back with a hot glue gun as shown.

To make the poinsettia leaves stamp the images from HCPC-3679 Large Sparkling Poinsettia Stamp set in Stazon Forest Green and die cut with the coordinating die.  Sponge the edges with green stamp paint.  Using a damp sponge dab Dries Clear glue on the petals and sprinkle with Frosting Powder.  Heat the petals with a heat gun to frost and shape the leaves.  Adhere the leaves around the flowers as shown with a hot glue gun.

To make the trees stamp one large and two medium tree images from the HCPC-3749 Snow Kissed Spruce Stamp set with Northern Pine ink on white cardstock and die cut using the coordinating die.  Add snow effects with Dries White Glue and Frosting Powder and heat with a heat gun for a frosted look. Bend the trunks at the base of the trees over to create a tab and glue the trunk to the base of the shelf.

Cut one of the deer from the remaining paper and leave a ½’ tab at the bottom of the deer.  Fold the tab and adhere on the shelf with Dries White Glue.

To make the lamp stamp the image from the HCPC-3791 Festive Holly & Cardinals Stamp set in Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock.  Colour in with pencils 0106, 1003, 109, 912, 122, 1052, 1065, 10760 and die cut with the coordinating die.  Add snow on the lamp with Dries Clear glue and Frosting Powder.  Heat to create a frosted look.  Add Crystal Clear to the inside of the lamp.  Adhere behind the trees at the back as shown.

To make the house die cut the house using the board effect pink paper from the Winter’s Eve Collection.  Die cut the roof from a piece of brown patterned paper and adhere to the top of the house.  Die cut another roof top piece from white cardstock and adhere at the back of the house for extra strength.  Using Dries White glue and frosting powder add snow effects o the top of the roof.  Stamp the door, two large window and one small window from the HCPC-3771 Wildwood Cottage Stamp set  in Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock.  Sponge the shutters and wood trim with Toffee Crunch and then colour in with pencils 1019, 943, 1085, 1079, 103, 1086 and die cut with coordinating dies.  Adhere to the front of the house as shown.  Add snow and glitter to the windows and door using Dries White glue and Frosting Powder.  Cut a piece of white cardstock 2” x 3 ½”, score ¾” in from each end of the long side and adhere to back of the house.  Adhere this white cardstock to the fence at the side and the back of the shelf to anchor the house in place.

Stamp the snow laden branch image from the HCPC-3795 Window Box Fillers Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock.  Colour the branches in Toffee Crunch with a Dove Blender pen and die cut with the coordinating die.  Add snow with Dries White glue and Frosting Powder.  Adhere to the side of the house.

Stamp the toboggan from the HCPC-3794 Window Frame Stamp set in Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock.  Sponge lightly with Toffee Crunch ink and then colour in with pencils 1010and die cut.  Add snow effects to the toboggan with Dries White Glue and Frosting Powder.  Adhere the toboggan to the front of the house as shown.

Stamp the holly and cardinal images from the HCPC-3791 Festive Holly & Cardinals Stamp set in Tuxedo Black on white cardstock.  Sponge the holly leaves with Bamboo Leaves, the cardinals with Ladybug and Peanut Brittle inks, and using the Dove Blender pen colour the stems with Toffee Crunch ink and the holly fruit with Ladybug ink and die cut with the coordinating dies.  Add the Red Berry Nuvo drops to the holly and allow to dry before shaping lightly and adhering to the front and sides of the fence.  For the holly images that hang above the fence die cut extra dies in white cardstock and adhere to the images for extra strength.

To make the holly leaves stamp the images from the HCPC-3822 Poinsettia & Holly Clusters Stamp set in Bamboo Leaves on white cardstock.  Colour in with Lime Pastel ink and die cut with the coordinating die.  Shape the holly using the HCFB1-463 3D Poinsettia Shaping Mold, allow to dry and then shape and assemble with the poinsettias.  To make the poinsettias stamp the images from the HCPC-3822 Poinsettia & Holly Clusters Stamp set in Ladybug and Teal Zeal inks.  Sponge the poinsettias lightly with Ladybug and Teal Zeal inks and die cut with the coordinating die.  Shape using the HCFB1-463 3D Poinsettia Shaping Mold and allow to dry before shaping and assembling. Add Frosting Powder using Dries Clear glue on a damp sponge and heat to get the frosted look.  Adhere to the front of the fence over the holly as shown.

To make the snow break up cotton wool and dab some dries clear over it and sprinkle with Crystal Clear and adhere to the bottom of the shelf around the deer, trees and house.

To make the tags cut the images from both the Winter’s Eve and Festive Holly paper collections to fit the tags that have been supplied in the kit.  Sand the edges and the slots to finish the tags.  Die cut the numbers using the Victorian Numbers set out of white cardstock and adhere to the tags.  Hang two tags on the hooks that have been glued to the top half of the shelf.  Stack the rest of the tags behind the house.

A White and Blue Christmas

Today I would like to share a couple of cards I have made using the Winter’s Eve collection from Heartfelt Creations and a new 3D embossing from Crafter’s Companion Ring out the Bells.  I love white and blue combinations for Christmas and the sparkly blue poinsettias went really well with the white Centura Pearl cardstock with a hint of silver.

Materials used for both cards:

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas:

  1. Cut a base card 10″ x 7″, score at 5″ along the long side to make a base card of 5″ x 7″.  Cut a piece of blue cardstock with the largest die from the Matting Basics A set and adhere it to the front of the card.
  2. Cut a piece of white with hint of silver card at 5″ x 7″ and emboss using the Ring out the Bells embossing folder.  Trim and add to the blue card.
  3. Repeat the embossing with another piece of white cardstock and trim the bells to use as an embellishment later.
  4. To make the frame stamp the image from the Window Frame stamp set in Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock and die cut with the coordinating dies.  Cut a piece of clear cardstock 3 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ and adhere behind the window.  Trim a piece of patterned paper to fit behind the window frame 3 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ and adhere behind the window.  Adhere the window to the card as shown.  Using Dries White Clear add snow along the window frame and add Frosting Powder and heat for a frosted snow look.
  5. To make the poinsettias stamp the images onto vellum with Colorbox Frost White ink and emboss with white embossing powder.  Colour on the back with the Summer Sky ink and die cut with the coordinating die.  Assemble as shown and using the Dries Clear glue on a damp sponge add the Frosting Powder and heat for a white frosted finish.  Add clear sparkles to the centres of the flowers.  Add around the window image as shown.
  6. Add the bells trimmed earlier to layer over the base embossed card.
  7. Trim the sentiment from the patterned paper and adhere under the bells as shown.
  8. To finish add the white ribbon bow with a glue dot.

Give Yourself a Merry Little Christmas instructions:

  1. Cut a base card 10″ x 7″, score at 5″ along the long side to make a base card of 5″ x 7″.  Cut a piece of blue cardstock with the largest die from the Matting Basics A set and adhere it to the front of the card.
  2. Cut a piece of white with hint of silver card at 5″ x 7″ and emboss using the Ring out the Bells embossing folder.  Trim and add to the blue card.
  3. Repeat the embossing with another piece of white cardstock and trim the bells to use as an embellishment later.
  4. Die cut an oval from the blue cardstock with the oval die from the new Small Basic Ovals set and adhere to the front of the card as shown. Use the next size down die and die cut the image from the Winter’s Eve paper collection and adhere to the blue cardstock.
  5. To make the poinsettias stamp the images onto vellum with Colorbox Frost White ink and emboss with white embossing powder.  Colour on the back with the Summer Sky ink and die cut with the coordinating die.  Assemble as shown and using the Dries Clear glue on a damp sponge add the Frosting Powder and heat for a white frosted finish.  Add clear sparkles to the centres of the flowers.  Add around the oval image as shown.
  6. Add the bells trimmed earlier to layer over the base embossed card.
  7. To finish add the blue ribbon bow with a glue dot.

Christmas Night

Today sees the launch of some exciting new products from Heartfelt Creations and they are so amazing to work with.  Included in the new products are some shadow boxes and layered oval and circle dies.  Here I am showing a card made using the smaller shadow box with the Winter’s Eve collection. I love the depth you can get with the boxes and here I have paired it up with the Window Frame die to create a magical Christmas card.

Others – Stazon Black ink, Zig Clean Colour Brush Markers – 020, 041, 047, 091, 052, Bristol Smooth Cardstock, White Cardstock

Instructions:

Cut a piece of white cardstock at 6” x 12”, score and crease at 6” along the long side to make a base card of 6” x 6”.  Cut a 6” x 6” patterned panel from the paper collection featuring pink poinsettias on the corners and adhere to the front of the card.

Assemble box and add panel from patterned paper to back of the box.  Cut a piece of pink striped paper 4 ½ x 3 ¼ and die cut an opening using the inner die from the HCD1-7148 Window Frame Die.  Adhere to the front of the shadow box. Stamp the window frame from the HCPC-3794 Window Frame Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black on white cardstock, and die cut using the coordinating die.  Die cut the decorative filigree die and the arch from the HCD1-7150 Window Box Elements Die.  Cut the decorative filigree die in half and adhere to each side of the window.  Adhere the frame die to the top of the window. Cut 2 pieces ½” x 4 ½” from the pink striped patterned paper to coordinate with the front of the shadow box, and add to the top and bottom.  Cut 2 pieces ½” x 4 ½’ from the pink striped paper to coordinate with the front of the shadow box, and add to the sides.  Adhere the shadow box to the base card.

Stamp the candle image from the HCPC-3794 Window Frame Stamp set in Stazon Black ink on Bristol Smooth cardstock.  Colour in with the Zig Clean Colour Brush markers.  Die cut using the coordinating die and add dries white glue and frosting powder to the leaves and adhere to the window ledge.

To make the poinsettias stamp the images from HCPC-3745 Ornate Sleigh Stamp set using Frost white on vellum.  Emboss with Bridal Tinsel embossing powder.  Sponge the back of the flowers with Pearlescent Coral ink and the leaves with Bamboo Leaves and die cut using the coordinating die.  Shape using the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit and and assemble using Dries Clear glue.  Add Minnie Pearl Prills to the centre of the flowers and adhere to the bottom right and top left as shown.

Cut the sentiment from the patterned paper and adhere to the top of the card as shown.

Other – Die cutting machine, Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Two, Pearls, White cardstock, foam strips.

Instructions – Cut a piece of cardstock at 6” x 12”, cut and score at 6” along the long side to make a base card 6” x 6”.  Cut a piece of blue patterned paper 6” x 6” and adhere to the front of the card.

Die cut two semi-circular medallions from the HCD1-7144 Classic Wedding Decorative Medallions Dies from white cardstock and adhere to the top and bottom of the card as shown.  Cut a piece of white cardstock at 6” x 3 ¼” and die cut the lacy edge from the HCD1-783 Border Essentials.  Cut a piece of blue patterned paper 5/16” x 6” and adhere to the middle of the lace strip.  Add pearl strips to the edge of the patterned paper.  Adhere the strip to the centre of the card as shown.

Die cut the medium size die from the Labels Twenty-Two die set from white cardstock.  Create the frames by using the next two die sizes together, and adhere together and then add to the base frame as shown.  Die cut the church image from the paper collection using the smaller frame die and adhere to the centre of the frame.  Adhere the frame to the card using foam strips

Today I am featuring a Christmas card with a summer theme for those of us downunder.  Christmas for me means hot days, barbecues and gardens full of flowers.  In fact, one year it was 33 degrees celsius and we did not know what to do with ourselves as it was so hot.  As soon as I saw all the gorgeous flowers in the Window Box filler set I knew I would make a summer Christmas card.

Others – die cutting machine, Spellbinders Fancy Frames 2, Heart of Gold Prills, Stazon Black ink. Bristol cardstock, Zig Clean Colour Brush markers, 041, 047, 026, 091, 031, 028, 067, 040 Hot Glue Gun, Glue Gloss Pen

Instructions – To make the base card cut a piece of cardstock at 10” x 7 “, score and crease at 5” along the long side and fold in half to make the base card at 5’ x 7”.  Cut a piece of the blue and green striped paper from the HCDP1-281 5” x 7” and adhere to the front of the card base.

Cut a piece of Bristol cardstock 3 ½” x 4” and stamp the angel and tree image from the HCPC-7149 using Stazon black ink.  Colour the images with the Zig Clean Colour Brush markers.  Add Crystal glitter to the garlands, star and angel’s wings with Dries Clear glue. Add foam strips down each side of the image.

Cut a piece of patterned paper 3 ¾” x 4 ½” and using the window frame from the HCD1-7148 die cut the rectangle from the front.  Adhere to the foam strips on the painted image to create the window.

Stamp the window from the HCPC-3794 in Tuxedo Black on white cardstock, and die cut with the coordinating die.  Adhere to the front of the aperture.  Die cut the frame and the filigree die from the HCD1-3794 in white cardstock.  Trim the filigree frame die in half and adhere either side of the window as shown.  Adhere the frame to the top of the window as shown.

To make the window box die cut the window box, insert and edge from the HCD1-7150 Window Box Elements Die from white cardstock.  Adhere the tabs to the box with dries clear glue.  Add the insert to the box.

To make the flowers stamp the images from the HCPC-3795 Window Box Fillers with Tuxedo Black. Sponge the flowers with Pearlescent Orchid and Canteloupe using the Stack & Store sponges.  Colour the leaves and stems with Bamboo Leaves.  Die cut out using the coordinating dies.  Add the Crystal Clear glitter to the flowers using the glue gloss.  Add the Heart of Gold Prills to the centre of the flowers with Dries Clear glue.  Add the flowers and leaves in the insert and glue with Dries Clear glue.  When dry adhere to the card at the base of the window.

Stamp the sentiment from the HCPC-3796 Winter’s Eve stamp set using Tuxedo Black ink on a piece of blue paper.  Die cut using the Spellbinders Fancy Frame set and adhere to the front of the window box.

Stamp the poinsettias from the HCPC-3745 Ornate Sleigh stamp set in Pearlescent Orchid on white cardstock.  Sponge with orchid ink using the stack & store daubers and die cut using the coordinating die from the HCD1-7104 Ornate Sleigh and Presents die set.  Shape using the Deluxe Flower Shaping set, assemble and then add Crystal Clear glitter using Dries Clear Glue.  Add Heart of Gold Prills to the centres and add to the top right of the card as shown.
