An English Country Garden

Kia ora koutou

Today I have a very special card to share with you. I was asked to make a very special birthday card for a very special Grandma who is about to turn an incredible 94 years old and she lived in England. The brief was for roses and alstroemeria flowers as these were her favourite flowers and I thought that I would do a English country cottage scene with different flowers, a lovely seat to sit on and admire the garden and some sweet birdies to fill the air with song. The Heartfelt Creations Gateway Fold cards were perfect for this occasion. I have used many different products from Heartfelt Creations and as I did not have a lot of time I die cut the images from the paper collection rather than colouring them. I am so happy how this turned out and Olya if you are reading this I really really enjoyed making this. Thank you so much for asking me to make this card and I hope your Grandma really loves and cherishes this very special card/gift that has come from the heart from New Zealand.

Scroll past the photos for a full list of the products that I have used in this card. I will also have a video tutorial on my YouTube channel showing you how I have made these roses coming soon.

3D Pillar Display Card

Kia ora Koutou

I have something very special to share with you today.. I love making my own paper flowers using dies from Heartfelt Creations and Amazing Paper Grace. But sometimes the flowers are really bulky and will not fit into the clear dimensional boxes from Heartfelt Creations. So I came across this 3D Pillar Display design from Mixed Up Crafts and it was perfect for showcasing the floral bouquet that I had made. I adapted the card to make the pillars deeper as my flowers were very dimensional – the sides are 1 1/2″ deep as opposed to 1″ deep. And I also put in a little box at the base of the card to hide the ends of the bouquet of flowers and added some moss in it. I love this sentiment that I used as it is so versatile and the card can fit so many different occasions.

You can find the instructions here: https://youtu.be/aymMouDji8A.

I have taken a class from my fellow Design Team member Rajni Chawla on how to create several different types of Sweet Peas and I was thrilled with how my sweet peas turned out. She also taught us how to create a bouquet using florist wire and tape and this was my first bouquet that I made.

Because this card was bulky I created a box to put the card in. I again used a pattern from Mixed Up Crafts and decorated it with dies from Heartfelt Creations and embossing from Amazing Paper Grace. Once again I adapted the box to make it deeper – The bottom of the box is now 1 1/2″ deep instead of 1″.
