Hello Happy Birthday

Kia ora Koutou

I have another birthday card to share with you using more of the clematis flowers that I made last week for my YouTube channel. Once again I have used a die that I have had in my stash for many years. I love dies that have ornate decorative features and lots of lattice and this die from Sue Wilson – Striplets – Lattice Window is one that I will never give away. I love making layers to create dimension and depth and here I have die cut several times to get the dimension I wanted and was able to use all the die cuts with no waste. Another bonus. I have also started going through my cardstock stash and begun using my old stock up. Another bonus! Overall I was really happy with how this card turned out.

My Project

For my card I have created a side folding 5″ x 7″ card out of white cardstock. I then layered up white pearlescent cardstock to create the base for the decorative dies. I die cut three lattice windows out of the pearlescent card. I stacked three outer frames together and added it to the centre of the card. I die cut the lattice inner using the left over inner panels and adhered them to the centre and sides of the decorative lattice window.

I die cut three ‘hello’ dies – two from scrap pearlescent card and one from silver card. I stacked the sentiments together with the silver on top and then adhered it to the bottom right of the decorative windows.

I hot foiled the sentiment using silver holographic foil on pearlescent card and die cut it with the coordinating die. I matted the sentiment using silver metallic cardstock and added it below the ‘hello’ sentiment with some foam tape.

I then made the leaves and flowers (see video below my list of products I have used) and adhered them to the card as shown.

Heartfelt Creations Climbing Clematis Flowers Two Ways

Kia ora Koutou

Today I am sharing a card made with Heartfelt Creations Climbing Clematis that has been shaped and coloured in two different ways to make a beautiful floral birthday card. I was inspired by a card on Pinterest that used the beautiful Marianne Creatables LR0300 die to create a stunning but simple base for some hand made flowers. This die is one of my favourites as you can emboss it to get some amazing texture and depth to the die cut. Plus I have had numerous requests to do more flower making tutorials and today I have a video on my YouTube channel showing you how I have made these clematis flowers and how to put them on the card.

My project

For my card I have made a top folding 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card out of white cardstock. I then die cut the gorgeous Marianne Creatables LR0300 die out of white cardstock and adhered it to the front of the card using foam tape.

I hot foiled the sentiment from the Spellbinders Everyday Sentiments Glimmer Plate on white cardstock using silver holographic hot foil and die cut it with the coordinating die. I then matted it lightly with silver cardstock and adhered it to the bottom right of the card.

I then die cut the flowers and leaves, coloured them and shaped them and allowed them to dry. Once assembled the flowers and leaves were then added to the top of the card.

To finish the card I added some white pearls to the decorative die.
