Sending Big Hugs and Irises With Love

Kia ora Koutou

Today I have a card made for a very special person. She loves yellow and purple and was an avid gardener and taught me so much about gardening although I definitely do not have green fingers!! Her gardens were a riot of colour with the most amazing flowers including irises. This card is also my submission for the Honey Bee Stamps Buzzworthy Challenge for sparkly cards on Facebook.

The Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – Iris Honey Cuts were perfect for this card. The irises look so real and are very easy to assemble even without the instructions. I have used purple and yellow inks to colour the irises and then added some yellow pollen to the centre of the flowers and some Ultrafine Crystal Glitter on the outside of the flowers for some sparkle. The leaves have been coloured with green inks before assembling with the flowers.

For the background to the flowers and foliage I have embossed white cardstock using the Honey Bee Stamps 3D Embossing Folder – Sandie’s Garden which is just lovely layered with purple glitter cardstock.

The background foliage are leaves from the Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – Winter Greenery Honey Cuts which have been die cut from a light green cardstock and ink blended with green ink.

No garden is complete without bees and I have used the gorgeous bee from the Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – Bugs Honey Cuts made from black and yellow cardstocks. The wings have been die cut out of vellum, coloured with a pale purple alcohol marker and then finished with some Perfect Pearls – Pearl for a luminescent finish.

The ‘With Love’ sentiment is from the Amazing Paper Grace With Love Regalia Etched dies and has been die cut out of purple glitter cardstock and stacked with another two layers of white dies before adding to the top right of the card. I have stamped the sentiment from the Honey Bee Stamps Mini Messages Stamps in dark purple ink on white cardstock and then die cut with the coordinating die. This was then matted with purple glitter cardstock and then added to the centre of the sentiment die with some foam squares.

Pink Fresh Studio Challenge Card

Kia ora Koutou

I am leaving this a bit late but here is my challenge card for the Pink Fresh Studio May 2024 Challenge. The challenge for May is ‘Flower Power’ and the recommended inks are Bubble Gum, Sunkissed, Citron, Atlantis, & Ocean Breeze. For my card I have used the Vines & Roses stamp, stencils and coordinating dies to create the flowers and use the inks. I had a lot of fun mixing and matching the Citron, Atlantis and Ocean Breeze inks on the leaves and the Bubble Gum and Sunkissed inks on the flowers.

My Project

I have created a side folding 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ base card out of white cardstock. I cut another piece of white cardstock the same size and lightly blended Ocean Breeze ink on using the stencil from the Stained Glass Window stencil set. I die cut the Stained Glass die out of white cardstock using the coordinating die and adhered this over the stenciled image. This panel was then added to the front of the card.

I die cut two large frames using the Pink Fresh Studio Notched Corner Frame dies out of white cardstock. I stacked these together and added the frame to the front of the card.

I stamped the images from the Pink Fresh Studio Roses & Vines stamp set in Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock and coloured the images with the challenge inks before die cutting with the coordinating die. I added a leaf spray to the top right and bottom left of the card going over the frame.

I die cut three medium frames and one background from the Pink Fresh Studio Notched Corner Frame dies and stacked them together on the plain background before adding them to the card front over the leaves.

I then added the leaves and flowers to the top right and bottom left of the inner frame using foam squares to get some depth and dimension to the layers.

The sentiment is from the Pink Fresh Studio roses & Vines stamp set and has been stamped in Tuxedo ink on white cardstock and die cut with the coordinating die. I also die cut three plain dies and stacked the dies together with the stamped sentiment on top. This was added to the card as show using some foam tape where needed.

To finish the card I have added some Glacier jewels to the centre of the frame for some sparkle.

Amazing Paper Grace Lattice Quadrante

Kia ora Koutou

Today my card combines two of my favourite methods of cardmaking – die cutting and flower making using Amazing Paper Grace dies. I have used the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month September 2020 Lattice Quadrante as the base for pretty flowers and an elegant sentiment and finished with some gorgeous butterflies. I love how easy it is to create beautiful, elegant and classic cards with Amazing Paper Grace dies.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project

For my card I have created a top folding 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card base out of white cardstock. I have then layered gold, white and pale blue cardstock to the front of the card. I cut a piece of white cardstock slightly smaller than the blue panel and die cut the top right and bottom left using the decorative insert corner inserts from the Amazing Paper Grace Lattice Quadrante dies. I then die cut four more stand alone corner dies using both the decorative inserts and the edge dies – two from blue cardstock and two from gold cardstock. I adhered the gold corners under the blue corners slightly offsetting the gold to allow a peak of gold. I then adhered the corners over the previously cut corners before adding this panel to the front of the card.

I die cut the leaves from the Amazing Paper Grace Cinch and Go III dies out of green cardstock and adhered them over the bottom left corner lattice. I die cut, coloured and shaped the flowers from the same die set, assembled them and added them over the leaves. I die cut small filler flowers from the Amazing Paper Grace Petite Floral Potpourri dies and coloured them in yellow and blue inks, I shaped them and added wire stamens through the centres of the flowers, trimmed the wires and added them to around the larger pink flowers. To finish the bouquet I added some gold leaves from the Amazing Paper Grace Pinkaboo Trellis Dies.

I die cut three ‘With Love’ sentiments from the Amazing Paper Grace With With Love Regalia Card Builder Dies – two from pale blue cardstock and one from gold cardstock. These dies were stacked together with the gold die on top and then added to the top right lattice corner as shown.

I stamped the sentiment from the Amazing Paper Grace Lyrical Layered Florals Stamp and Die Set in embossing ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. This was then die cut with the coordinating die and I also die cut a plain die and added the embossed sentiment on top. I added this over the die cut sentiment using some foam squares.

To finish the cards I made two butterflies from the Amazing Paper Grace Summer Label Motif Dies out of vellum and accented with gold bodies. These were added around the sentiment as shown.

Love and Peace

Kia ora Koutou

It has been a while since I have made any big flowers as I have been having a lot of problems with arthritis in my hands. However, I saw a challenge called ‘Peace’ in a Facebook group I belong to and I couldn’t resist getting my Susan’s Garden Floribunda Roses dies to make a Peace Rose. I have tried making this rose for a long time and I have finally realised that this rose is a very vibrant yellow with touches of pink on the outer petals so I was very happy with how my rose turned out – almost like the real Peace rose. I have added some Forget-Me Knots from Susan’s Garden to help us remember those that have been lost in wars over the centuries and the sentiment is from Heartfelt Creations and is a reminder that Love is what makes the world so much better.

Amazing Paper Grace Happy Valentine’s Day

Kia ora Koutou

Making Valentine’s Day cards are so simple with Amazing Paper Grace dies and today I have a Valentine’s Day card that was quick and easy to make. For my card I have used the Amazing Paper Grace December 2020 Die of the Month – Sweetheart Envelope and Notecard Dies which has all you need to make timeless and classic Valentine’s Day card your sweetheart will cherish forever. To complete this card I have added a sweet little heart from the Amazing Paper Grace Primrose Facade dies and the sentiment from the Merry Everything Dies. This card took no time to put together and looks fabulous.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project

For my project today I have made a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ top folding card out of white cardstock. I layered some gold and white cardstock to create the base for the decorative dies.

To create the decorative base for my embellishments I used the Amazing Paper Grace December 2022 Die of the Month – Sweetheart Envelope and Note Card dies. To start I die cut the outer scallop edged envelope die out of gold cardstock and trimmed the end to fit the card front before adhering to the front of the card. I then die cut the inner notecard die out of white cardstock using the decorative die insert at the shaped end. This was trimmed to fit inside the gold outer die and adhered to the front as shown.

I die cut the decorative rectangle and the shadow out of white cardstock and added the decorative die to the shadow die and then adhered this to the bottom half of the decorative dies.

I die cut a small decorative heart out of white cardstock using the small heart dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Primrose Facade die. I then die cut the shadow heart out of gold cardstock and adhered the decorative die to the shadow and then adhered the heart to the top of the white decorative base.

I die cut three sets of flowers out of ivory pearl cardstock and assembled them. These were glued to the centre of the decorative dies and added the leaves that have been die cut out of green cardstock.

I die cut three sets of sentiments from the Amazing Paper Grace Merry Everything dies – two sets out of white cardstock and one set out of gold glitter cardstock. I stacked these together with the gold glitter sentiments on top and then adhered these over the decorative panel at the bottom half of the card.

To complete the card I have added gold pearls to the flower centres, the gold heart and around the sentiments.

Amazing Paper Grace Sending a Hug

Kia ora Koutou

For my card today I have been inspired by a card by Becca Feeken from Amazing Paper Grace layering the Braided Grace Square dies to create a stunning and elegant card. I have layered the Braided Grace dies in a similar fashion and then added the Amazing Paper Grace Fluted Classic Square dies to create new layers and dimension. I then added some pretty handcrafted flowers and some gold pearls for a card that would be suitable for many occasions. I will look to do a video on how I have made these flowers at some stage.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project

For my card I have made a top folding 6″ x 6″ base card and layered it with gold cardstock and some very pretty gold and ivory floral paper. I then added a large Fluted Classic Square die in gold and layered it with some more of the pretty paper on the top to create a base for the decorative dies.

I die cut four decorative squares from the Braided Square Dies – two from ivory cardstock and two from gold cardstock. I adhered the ivory dies behind the gold dies and layered them on top of the Fluted Square dies – the first as a diamond and the second as a square to create eight points.

I then die cut the smallest square from the Fluted Classic Square dies out of gold cardstock and then added a small square of the patterned paper. This was then added to the centre of the Braided Square dies with foam tape in a diamond shape. To finish the card front base I die cut two small braided motifs from gold cardstock, stacked them together and added it to the top of the small square.

I stamped the sentiment from the Just a Note Sentiments Stamp set in clear embossing ink on vellum and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I die cut the sentiment out using the coordinating die in the same stamp set and adhered it across the centre of the diagonal square with some glue on each end.

I die cut the leaves from the Petite Floral Bouquet Dies and the Cinch and Go Four Flowers Die out of green cardstock. I added the lighter green leaves from the Cinch and Go Four Flowers Die around the sentiment and centre square.

I die cut the flowers from the Grand Cinch and Go Flowers, Cinch and Go Four Flowers Die and Cinch and Go V Flower die sets from soft flower shaping paper. I coloured the petals with a combination of pink and yellow inks (listed below) and shaped and assembled them. I have used the Grand Cinch and Go Flower Dies with the Cinch and Go V Flower Dies for the larger flowers. I inserted yellow wire pollens through the centres of the small flowers. I added the three large flowers around the centre square and sentiment and added the larger darker leaves around them. I trimmed the wires to the small flowers and added them as fillers around the larger flowers.

To complete the card I added gold pearls to the centres of the large flowers and to the end of the vellum sentiment banner to hide the glue.

A Seaside Wedding Card

Kia ora Kotou

I was recently asked to make a wedding card for my husband’s colleague and the brief was the couple loved the beach and ocean so I immediately thought of the Heartfelt Sea Breeze collection and after that the card came together very quickly. I have added a bridal arch and birds from Marianne Designs and the wedding couple is from Creative Expressions. I had already made the flowers using the Heartfelt Creations Wild Rose dies and the colour was perfect for the card. And I also saved a lot of time die cutting the images from the paper collection.

My Project

I have created a side folding 5″ x 7″ card from white cardstock for my card base. I then layered gold cardstock and patterned paper for the base for the embellishments. I made sure to measure the top layer so that the boat was visible in the centre of the bridal arch.

I die cut a fence from the paper collection and trimmed it in half placing the halves on the sides of the card. I then die cut some grass from the paper collection and added over the fence on the right side.

I die cut two bridal arches – one from gold cardstock and one from white cardstock. I adhered the gold die behind the white die and offset it lightly for a glimpse of gold. The arch was then added to the front of the card with foam strips.

I die cut two wedding couple dies – one from black cardstock and one from white cardstock. I then embossed the die on some pearlised cardstock and cut around the embossed edge. I added the white die cut over this and trimmed the black die to add the male figure to the die. This was then added to the front of the bridal arch with foam squares.

I die cut the bird on the marker image from the paper collection and then die cut a separate die from plain cardstock. I adhered the coloured image to the plain die and then added it to the bottom left of the card with foam tape.

To complete the background I die cut the birds from the paper collection and trimmed them and added them around the base of the card.

I die cut the flowers using the Small and Large Wild Rose dies from watercolour paper. I coloured them with Pink Peony, Sunflower, Peachy Keen inks, wet them and shaped them with the coordinating molds. When dry I assembled them and added some stamens through the centres and added them to the top right of the card. The leaves were coloured with Pink Peony, Vivid Chartreuse and Leaf Green inks and also shaped using the coordinating mold and were then added around the roses.

To finish I added some glitter to the sea and some die cut birds from the paper collection.

Heartfelt Creations Climbing Clematis Flowers Two Ways

Kia ora Koutou

Today I am sharing a card made with Heartfelt Creations Climbing Clematis that has been shaped and coloured in two different ways to make a beautiful floral birthday card. I was inspired by a card on Pinterest that used the beautiful Marianne Creatables LR0300 die to create a stunning but simple base for some hand made flowers. This die is one of my favourites as you can emboss it to get some amazing texture and depth to the die cut. Plus I have had numerous requests to do more flower making tutorials and today I have a video on my YouTube channel showing you how I have made these clematis flowers and how to put them on the card.

My project

For my card I have made a top folding 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card out of white cardstock. I then die cut the gorgeous Marianne Creatables LR0300 die out of white cardstock and adhered it to the front of the card using foam tape.

I hot foiled the sentiment from the Spellbinders Everyday Sentiments Glimmer Plate on white cardstock using silver holographic hot foil and die cut it with the coordinating die. I then matted it lightly with silver cardstock and adhered it to the bottom right of the card.

I then die cut the flowers and leaves, coloured them and shaped them and allowed them to dry. Once assembled the flowers and leaves were then added to the top of the card.

To finish the card I added some white pearls to the decorative die.

Amazing Paper Grace Perfect Marriage

Kia ora Koutou

I have a wedding to go to coming up in about three weeks and I thought I would get in early and make a card for the bride and groom. (I am normally leaving everything to the last minute lol). I decided to go with a white and gold theme using the Amazing Paper Grace Clipped Nested Squares as a base for more handcrafted flowers. The sentiment from the Amazing Paper Grace Beautiful Inside and Out Sentiments Stamp set is just perfect for a wedding card (pun intended) and I have used Amazing Paper Grace Candlewick Rosebud and Petite Floral Potpourri dies to created my flowers. I will make a box to coordinate with this card to make it extra special.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project

To make my card I have created a top folding 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ base card out of white cardstock. I then added a 5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ gold card to the front of the card. I cut a piece of white cardstock 5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ and scored along all sides at 1/4″ and 3/8″ to create a frame. This was then added to the front of the gold cardstock. I then die cut two large clipped nested squares out of white cardstock and embossed them with the Amazing Paper Grace Orange Peel Embossing Folder. I die cut two large gold frames using the two largest dies from the clipped nested Squares dies and then adhered them over the front of the card overlapping in the middle. I then used the inside nested square from one of the larger gold frames and added it to the centre of the overlapped clipped nested square panels. I die cut a smaller clipped square out of white cardstock and after stamping the sentiment from the Amazing Paper Grace Beautiful Inside and Out Sentiments Stamp set with Jet Black ink in the centre, I adhered it to the front of the gold nested square. I die cut four frames using the next two size down clipped nested squares – three out of white cardstock and one from gold cardstock. These were stacked together and witht the gold die on top. This was then added to the front clipped square panel framing the sentiment.

I then die cut the corner dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Callista Rectangle Shadow Box Frame Dies out of gold cardstock and added them to the corners to finish the frame.

I made the roses from the Amazing Paper Grace Candlewick Rosebud dies which were coloured with Lemon Whip and Ballet Slippers for a soft romantic look. I then added some Cosmic Shimmer Luna Paste – Moonlight Gold to the edges to give the roses an antique shabby chic feel. The large leaves were from the Amazing Paper Grace Cinch and Go IV dies and were die cut from green cardstock. The leaves were also given some shine and glitter using the Luna Paste and were added around the roses. The small yellow and pink flowers were made using the dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Petite Floral Potpourri Dies. I coloured the yellow flowers with Lemon Whip ink and the pink flowers with Raspberry Bliss ink. The lighter green leaves were also from the Amazing Paper Grace Petite Floral Potpourri Dies set. These were added around the flowers and the nested square dies to create a pretty floral bouquet.

To finish my card I have made a butterfly from the Amazing Paper Grace Butterfly Bliss Garden Shutters dies out of vellum and gold cardstock. The vellum was coloured with Saltwater Taffy Distress Oxide ink and worked in perfectly with the antique-look roses.

Amazing Paper Grace Forever in Our Memory

Kia ora Koutou

Today I have an elegant sympathy card featuring the beautiful Amazing Paper Grace Forever in our Memory from the Amazing Paper Grace Beautiful Sentiment Vignette collection by Becca Feeken. I have kept to a blue and white palette with a touch of silver accents. Lilies are often associated with sorrow and grief and I have used the Amazing Paper Grace Layered Lilies Dies to adorn this card. I love how quick and easy a card can come together when you use these sentiment vignette dies.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project

To make my card I have created a top folding base card of 5 1/2″ x 6″ out of white cardstock. I cut a piece of blue cardstock 5 1/4″ x 5 3/4″ and score two lines down each side 1/8″ apart 1/4″ inside each side and adhere to the front of the card.

Die cut the shadow die from the Amazing Paper Grace Forever in Our Memory dies out of blue cardstock. Die cut the decorative die from the same set in white cardstock and emboss it before adding to the blue shadow. Adhere this to the front of the card. Die cut the shadow inner panel out of blue cardstock and two decorative sentiment dies out of white cardstock. Stack the two sentiment dies together and then add to the blue shadow before adding to the centre of the decorative frame with foam tape.

Die cut the lilies from the Amazing Paper Grace Layered Lilies Dies out of white cardstock with the stamen out of yellow cardstock. Colour the inside with Lemon Whip and Sunshine ink and assemble as per instructions. I added some Key Lime ink to the bottoms of the flowers.

Die cut the leaves and stems from green cardstock. Trim the stems and add around the decorative sentiment. Add the lilies and leaves to the stems. Die cut the stems from green cardstock and flowers from yellow cardstock from the October 2021 Die of the Month Flourished Fleurit Dies and assemble. Add these around the lilies and leaves. Die cut the stems only out of silver cardstock and add as accents around the flowers and leaves.

To finish add some silver pearls to the corners of the card and on the decorative die as shown.
