A Seaside Wedding Card

Kia ora Kotou

I was recently asked to make a wedding card for my husband’s colleague and the brief was the couple loved the beach and ocean so I immediately thought of the Heartfelt Sea Breeze collection and after that the card came together very quickly. I have added a bridal arch and birds from Marianne Designs and the wedding couple is from Creative Expressions. I had already made the flowers using the Heartfelt Creations Wild Rose dies and the colour was perfect for the card. And I also saved a lot of time die cutting the images from the paper collection.

My Project

I have created a side folding 5″ x 7″ card from white cardstock for my card base. I then layered gold cardstock and patterned paper for the base for the embellishments. I made sure to measure the top layer so that the boat was visible in the centre of the bridal arch.

I die cut a fence from the paper collection and trimmed it in half placing the halves on the sides of the card. I then die cut some grass from the paper collection and added over the fence on the right side.

I die cut two bridal arches – one from gold cardstock and one from white cardstock. I adhered the gold die behind the white die and offset it lightly for a glimpse of gold. The arch was then added to the front of the card with foam strips.

I die cut two wedding couple dies – one from black cardstock and one from white cardstock. I then embossed the die on some pearlised cardstock and cut around the embossed edge. I added the white die cut over this and trimmed the black die to add the male figure to the die. This was then added to the front of the bridal arch with foam squares.

I die cut the bird on the marker image from the paper collection and then die cut a separate die from plain cardstock. I adhered the coloured image to the plain die and then added it to the bottom left of the card with foam tape.

To complete the background I die cut the birds from the paper collection and trimmed them and added them around the base of the card.

I die cut the flowers using the Small and Large Wild Rose dies from watercolour paper. I coloured them with Pink Peony, Sunflower, Peachy Keen inks, wet them and shaped them with the coordinating molds. When dry I assembled them and added some stamens through the centres and added them to the top right of the card. The leaves were coloured with Pink Peony, Vivid Chartreuse and Leaf Green inks and also shaped using the coordinating mold and were then added around the roses.

To finish I added some glitter to the sea and some die cut birds from the paper collection.

Interactive Car Themed Birthday Card

Kia ora Koutou

One of my brother-in-laws loves VW cars and has his own VW Beetle which is his pride and joy, so I always try to make a birthday card featuring a VW car. I had an old Crafter’s Companion Die-sire ‘Circle Swing’ die set and this became a fun interactive base for the car. He also loves gardening and I have used Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – Spring Greenery Honey Cuts and Lovely Layers – Dianthus Honey Cuts to decorate the card. The stamp is from Montarga Rubber Stamps shop and it fitted perfectly on the card framed with all the flowers and foliage.

My Project

For my project I die cut and assembled the base card following the instructions from the ‘Circle Swing’ die set. I used the Heartfelt Creations Snowy Pines pale green paper as a background for the decorative dies.

I stamped the VW car image using Memento ink on copic friendly cardstock. I coloured the image with Copic markers and then fussy cut the image. I placed this image on the inner circle that is facing the front when the card is folded up.

I die cut three ‘happy birthday’ dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Happy Occasions Words Dies, stacked them together and then added them to the back side of the inner circle.

I die cut the foliage and flowers from the Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – Spring Greenery Honey Cuts dies in different colours and assembled them before adding them to the sides of the card and both front and back of the inner circle. I coloured the Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – Dianthus with purple and green inks before assembling them and adding them around the foliage as shown.

Amazing Paper Grace Happily Ever After

Kia ora Koutou

I have another timeless and elegant wedding card for you today. While I love making elaborate cards with handmade flowers, sometimes it is quite refreshing to make a quick and easy card using just a few dies. The Amazing Paper Grace Layered Happily Ever After Dies from the 3D Vignette Collection by Becca Feeken had just what I needed for a card and all I needed to complete the card was just three other die sets (listed below the photos) also from Amazing Paper Grace. This card looks amazing in real life and it only took about an hour to complete.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project

I have made a 4 3/4″ x 6″ top folding card base out of white cardstock and I added a layer of ivory cardstock to the front of the card. I die cut a large rectangle from the Amazing Paper Grace Picot Petite Rectangle dies out of gold cardstock and added it to the front of the card. I cut a piece of pearl ivory embossed paper from my stash to fit the inside of the decorative frame.

I die cut two large label dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Francesca Labels dies – one from ivory and one from gold cardstock. I cut the gold label in half and added it behind the ivory label offsetting the top and bottom of the label for a hint of gold. This was then added to the front of the card.

I die cut the wedding couple using the edge and wedding couple die from the Amazing Paper Grace Layered Happily Ever After Dies out of gold cardstock. I then die cut three die cuts using the Happily Ever After die and border die out of ivory cardstock. I stacked the three dies together and then adhered these over the gold wedding couple die. I die cut another label from the Francesa Labels die out of vellum and adhered the decorative dies to the label. I then added the vellum label with the decorative dies to the other labels on the front of the card just by adding glue behind the die cuts.

I made a bow from the Amazing Paper Grace Petite Double Bow and Flowers Die set from ivory cardstock and adhered it to the base of the decorative dies. I die cut the flowers from the ivory cardstock and added them around the bow.

To finish I added gold pearls to the centre of the flowers and a large one at the top on the label.

Happy Birthday Sunshine

Kia ora Koutou

I have been going through my considerable stash of dies that I have and I decided it was time to start using them in my cards. I have also been going through my cardstock stash and discovered some very pretty cardstock that I have forgotten about. Once again my card has been inspired by one that Becca Feeken has done but I have put my own twist in it by using slightly different dies and cardstock. I love the bright and summery colours I have used and that this card can be mailed easily as it is flat.

My project

I have created a top folding 6″ x 6″ base card out of heavy pearlescent cardstock. I then layered yellow and pearlescent cardstock to create the base for the decorative dies. I die cut layers out of pearlescent and yellow cardstock using the dies from the A2 Scalloped Borders One Dies from Spellbinders. I have slightly decreased the size of the top two layers to create some interest.

I die cut a large and medium label from the Amazing Paper Grace Francesca Labels – the larger label from yellow cardstock and the smaller from pearlescent card stock and these were added to the top of the card. I then die cut the band using the die from the Spellbinders Romantic Agenda set out of pearlescent card stock and then added some yellow cardstock behind it. I die cut two small ovals from the Spellbinders Floral Ovals die – one from pearlescent cardstock and one from yellow. I removed the little stars from the pearlescent oval and added the yellow oval behind so the yellow stars would show. I then added this oval behind the embossed oval on the band. This was then added to the card over the base of the labels as shown.

I reverse hot foiled the sentiment from the Spellbinders Be Bold Glimmer Sentiment in gold and die cut with the coordinating die. I die cut two extra plain dies and stacked them together with the foiled sentiment on top. This was added to the top of the card as shown.

I die cut flowers and leaves from the Spellbinders Be Bold Blooms from blue, yellow and green cardstock. I die cut the leaf accents out of gold cardstock and then added the flowers and leaves to the top left of the card and peeking out of the bottom right of the band.

I die cut two butterflies from the Amazing Paper Grace Butterfly Bliss Garden Shutters Dies out of pearlescent, yellow and gold cardstock, assembled them and adhered them to the card as shown.

To finish I added pearls to the centre of the band, around the sentiment and the top corners.

An Amazing Paper Grace Romantic Wedding Card

Kia ora Koutou

Today I am channeling my inner Becca Feeken with a beautiful wedding card made by layering gorgeous Amazing Paper Grace dies. I have always been a big fan of Becca’s designs and how she has used different dies together and added gold accents and this card has been inspired by one of her designs using the Amazing Paper Grace Hannah Elise Layering Frame dies from the Chantilly Lace collection. I have added a decorative tone on tone background to the card with the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month September 2020 Lattice Quadrangle and then added a pretty romantic rose, a pearl encrusted bow, some foliage, a sentiment from the Amazing Paper Grace All Occasions Sentiments and lots of pearls to finish with a stunning wedding card that is a gift in itself. I also wanted the floral embellishments to look like a rose with seed pearl decorations adorning the bride’s hair and to me I feel I have achieved this.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project

I have made a top folding 6″ x 6″ card base out of white cardstock. I layered gold and cream cardstock to the front to make the base for the embellishments. I die cut two decorative background dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month September 2020 out of cream cardstock, adhered them together and then added it to the front of the card.

I die cut a base from cream cardstock and two decorative dies using the Amazing Paper Grace Hannah Elise Layering Frame dies – one from gold cardstock and one from cream cardstock. I stacked these together and added the decorative frame to the cream base using foam strips. I added the gold centre decorative die to the inside of the frame.

I die cut two frames from the Amazing Paper Grace All Occasions Sentiments – one from gold and one from cream cardstocks. I trimmed the gold die down the centre lengthways and adhered both sides behind the cream die ensuring the gold is slightly offset behind the cream die. I then adhered this to the centre of the gold decorative frame. I stamped the sentiment from the Amazing Paper Grace All Occasions Sentiments in Wow embossing ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I then die cut the sentiment out using the small rectangle die from the Amazing Paper Grace All Occasions Sentiments. This was matted with gold cardstock and adhered to the front of the sentiment frame.

I die cut the dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Petite Double Bow and Flowers dies from cream cardstock and assembled the dies to create a bow. I added pearls to the centre of the bow and then added the bow to the top of the sentiment die.

I die cut, coloured, shaped and assembled a single rose from the Amazing Paper Grace Candlewick Rosebud dies. I used Peachy Keen, Rosey Posey and Magenta Hues to colour the rose. I die cut two leaves from the same die set and adhered them to the bottom of the sentiment die as shown. I then adhered the rose over the leaves in the centre.

I die cut several small sprays from the Amazing Paper Grace Fall Label Motifs Dies out of gold cardstock. I added small pearls to some of the sprays and added them around the green leaves along with some plain gold sprays.

To finish I added some pearls to the corners and on the dies as shown.

Amazing Paper Grace Silent Night Christmas

Kia ora Koutou

Christmas is less than two months away and I have some more Christmas card inspiration for you today. I was inspired by a couple of cards I saw on Instagram and thought I would mix the two ideas to make my own version using Amazing Paper Grace dies. So for my card I have mixed two Amazing Paper Grace interactive collections – Make a Scene and Pop Up 3D Vignettes to create a beautiful elegant slightly dimensional Christmas card embellished with some beautiful Christmas Roses or Hellebore flowers. I love the soft tones that I have used in this card with the muted ink blended background highlighting the white on white scene from the Amazing Paper Grace Silent Night Make a Scene Dies. The Amazing Paper Grace Grand Christmas Lattice Arch Dies were a perfect frame for the Make a Scene dies and also gave me some space for my flowers.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project

For my card I have created a top folding base card measuring 5″ x 5 3/4″ out of white cardstock. I cut a piece of plain white card 5 3/8″ x 4 5/8″ adhered it to the front of the card. I die cut a plain frame and decorative frame out of white cardstock using the Amazing Paper Grace Grand Christmas Lattice Arch Dies. I ink blended one of the inside panels using Lemon Whip, Sky Blue and Summer Shower inks and added it to the front of the card using the previously cut frame as a guide. I then die cut three different height white ‘hills’ using the three different shaped landscape dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Silent Night Make a Scene dies. The width of these pieces was 3 3/8″ just enough to cover the sides of the coloured insert. I then added these to the bottom of the ink blended panel using foam squares in between each piece. I then adhered the decorative frame over the plain frame and added it to the font of the card using thicker foam strips.

To decorate the inside of the frame I have die cut the different houses and trees from the Amazing Paper Grace Silent Night Make a Scene Dies out of white cardstock and added them in between the layers using foam squares as need.

I die cut three Santa and reindeer dies out of white cardstock and stacked them together. I die cut a shaped strip out of acetate using the die from the Amazing Paper Grace Silent Night Dies and adhered the Santa and reindeer dies to it before added it to the frame as shown.

I die cut four Merry Christmas sentiments out of white cardstock using the die from the Amazing Paper Grace Silent Night Make a Scene dies. I stacked the four dies together and then adhered the sentiment at the base of the scene.

I die cut some foliage and holly leaves from the Amazing Paper Grace Holiday Labels Motifs Dies out of different colours of green cardstock and adhered them to the top left of the card on the frame. I handcrafted the flowers using the larger flower die from the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month – March 2020 Elegant Infinity using soft flower shaping paper and micro thread stamens. These were added over the foliage. To finish the flowers I added some green leaves using the leaf die from the Amazing Paper Grace Cinch and Go V Dies.

Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – Dianthus Trellis Card

Kia ora Koutou

I have a very quick and easy card to share with you today that is a different take on Bibiana’s trellis cards. Rather than cutting strips to make the trellis I have made this card using the fabulous Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – Barn Wood Fence Honey Cuts to make the trellis. I then make some dianthus using the Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – Dianthus Honey Cuts and added the chickadee from the Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – Winter Birds Honey Cuts. I finished off the card with a sentiment from Pink Fresh Studios – Wonderful Sentiments. This was so quick and easy to do and looked gorgeous.

My Project

For my project I cut a piece of white cardstock 11″ x 4 1/4 out of white cardstock and then scored at 5 1/2″ along the long side and folded the card in half. I then die cut the fence out of white cardstock and used this as a guide to trim the front of the card to fit the gate. The gate was then adhere at the top to the card front flap. I finished the gate by adding the crossbars to the gate.

The flowers were die cut from white cardstock and coloured with Pink Diamond ink and assembled according to the instructions that came with the die set. I die cut the leaves and base of the flowers out of green cardstock and added some Mowed Lawn ink for some more depth to the leaves. The flowers and extra leaves were then assembled.

I die cut the bird out of light grey, black and white cardstocks. I added some Lemon Whip and Sunshine inks to the main body of the bird before assembling it according to the instructions with the die set. I then played around with the placement of the flowers and bird before using some Press and Seal to then add to the front of the card.

To finish the card I stamped the sentiment from the Pink Fresh Studios – Wonderful Sentiments in Obsidian Pigment ink and die cut it with the coordinating die and adhered it to the front of the card as shown.

Amazing Paper Grace Shabby Chic Congratulations

Kia ora Koutou

Today I have a pretty shabby chic card to share with you that has been inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest. I used the same dies that was used for the card – Amazing Paper Grace Callista Rectangle Shadowbox Frame Dies and the Amazing Paper Grace All Occasions Sentiments Dies, but I added my own touch with the handcrafted flowers and pretty images from Mintay. The flowers ended up different to what I wanted to make but I am still happy with them. To me they look like helichrysum flowers that were very poplular in the 1980s and 1990s for dried flower arrangements. What do you think?

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project

For my card today I have created a top folding 4 3/4″ x 6″ base card out of white cardstock. I cut a piece of white cardstock 4 5/8″ x 5 7/8″ and adhered it to the front of the card. I then cut a piece of pink check paper 4 1/2″ x 5 3/4″ and placed this over the top. I cut a piece of white card 3 3/4″ x 4 7/8″. I die cut the frame from the Amazing Paper Grace Callista Rectangle Shadowbox Frame Dies out o gold cardstock and added the small white card to the back of the frame and added it to the front of the card. I then cut a piece of pink paper 2 1/2″ x 3 7/8″ and placed it in the centre of the frame. I die cut the inner panel from the Amazing Paper Grace Callista Rectangle Shadowbox Frame Dies out of white cardstock and placed this over the pink panel inside the frame. I finished the front by adding a motif from the Mintay Elodie Die Cuts.

I die cut the decorative frame from the Amazing Paper Grace All Occasions Sentiments Dies out of gold cardstock and added it to the centre of the card. I stamped the sentiment from the same set in embossing ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I die cut the sentiment out using the coordinating rectangle die and added it to the centre of the frame.

I added some motifs from the Mintay Elodie Die Cuts to the front of the card.

I handcrafted pink flowers from the Amazing Paper Grace Cinch and yellow and blue flowers from the Go V flowers and the Petite Floral Potpourri Dies. Once they were dry and assembled I added them at the bottom of the card and at the base of the woman and the birds. The leaves from the Cinch and Go V flowers were die cut using blue/green paper from the Mintay Elodie Paper Pack to coordinate with the paper.

To finish my card I added some clear iridescent rhinestones to around the sentiment and the flowers.

Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – Wedding Bells

Kia ora Koutou

I have just purchased the beautiful Honey Bee Stamps: Layering Holiday Bells Honey Cuts and started off making a white and gold Christmas card. But I ended up going in a totally different direction in the end and made a wedding card with a bouquet of Honey Bee Stamps Lovely Layers flowers and leaves. Even though it looks totally different from what I initially imagined I am very happy with the results and I hope you like it too.

My Project.

For my card I have made a top folding 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card base out of white cardstock. I cut a piece of gold card 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and added it to the front of the card. I die cut a Delicate Daisy Cover Plate Base and Top out of white cardstock and layered them together before adding them to the front of the card.

I die cut an oval using the Amaizng Paper Grace Elegant Twist Oval dies out of gold cardstock and then die cut one oval using the outer and inner decorative twist dies out of white cardstock and added it to the gold base. I then die cut two decorative twist oval frames out of white cardstock and added it to the base oval which was then added to the front of the card.

I die cut the bells from the Honey Bee Stamps: Layering Holiday Bells Honey Cuts out of white and gold cardstock. I assembled them and then added a gold bow out of the same set and added them to the the inside of the oval frame with foam tape.

I have die cut, coloured and assembled the flowers and leaves from the following dies: Lovely Layers – Dianthus (coloured yellow), rosebuds from the Roses dies – coloured blush and green, leaves and lavenders from the Spring Greenery dies and the gold leaves are from the Winter Greenery set. These were all layered around the top of the bells to ressemble a wedding bouquet. To add a little glamour and sparkle I have added some Wink of Stella to the flowers.

To finish my card I have stamped the sentiments from the Honey Bee Stamps Mini Messages stamp set in Wow embossing ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I die cut the sentiments out using the coordinating die set and added them to the card using foam strips.

I then added some gold pearls around the sentiment.

Hello Happy Birthday Peonies

Kia ora Koutou

This year it has been my mission to learn how to colour with alcohol markers. I have been taking lessons with Alyce at Kit and Clowder and I am so enjoying them and I am finding that I they are so much easier to use and the colouring is much quicker – better for my neurodivergent brain lol. Anyway, I have been purchasing different floral stamp sets to practice with and one of the sets I purchased was the Gina K Designs Majestic Peony Cling Stamp set. This is such a beautiful design and great for practice. Here is one of my first attempts at colouring using Copics on Neenah Classic Crest 80 Ib paper and I have used a colour combination from one of the classes that I have taken. (I have since discovered I prefer to use X-Press It card as it is much easier to blend). I have done a similar card design to this a few years ago. I had completed an Altenew class – All About Layering 4 (2) and I used all Altenew products then. You can see the post here.

I must admit that I do struggle with adding sentiments to coloured images as I feel that I have spent sooo much time colouring the images and don’t want to cover them up. Here I feel I have made a compromise by adding the die cut ‘hello’ and adding the stamped sentiment to the bottom right of the card just covering a small portion of the coloured image.

My Project

I have created a top folding 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ base card out of white cardstock. I cut a piece of gold cardstock 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and adhered it to the front of the card base. I then cut a piece of black cardstock 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ and embossed it with a diamond embossing folder from my stash. This was then added to the front of the gold card.

I stamped the peony image from the Gina K Designs Majestic Peony Stamp set in Tuxedo Black ink on Neenah Classic Crest 80 Ib cardstock. I coloured the image in with Copic markers and then fussy cut the image. I went round the edges of the image with a Memento Tuxedo Black Marker to get rid of all the white edges and then adhered the entire image on the black embossed card.

I die cut four ‘hello’ dies from the Altenew Fancy Hello die set – three from black cardstock and one from gold cardstock. These were then stacked together with the gold die on top and then adhered to the centre of the card over the flowers.

I stamped the sentiment from the Altenew Dotty Blooms stamp set in gold pigment ink on black cardstock and heat embossed it with gold embossing powder. I die cut the sentiment out using a banner die from the Altenew Featured Sentiments Die Set and die cut another plain banner from black cardstock. I adhered the stamped banner on the plain banner and added the sentiment to the bottom right of the card as shown with some foam strips.

To finish I added some gold pearls around the die cut ‘hello’.
