I am sure that whoever gets this card will be cheered up with the cute bird with the bird’s nest and the gorgeous Dogwood flowers on a gorgeous texture background.

Amazing Paper Grace With Love

Kia ora Koutou

Today I have a sweet and simple card to share with you today made using the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month June 2019 – Enchanting Battenburg Corners Etched Dies. Sometimes a simple and yet so elegant card is all you need to convey your feelings and this card says it all. Becca Feeken often takes her inspiration from traditional sewing and needlework techniques and many of the Amazing Paper Grace dies are designed to be embossed to create the look of lace. The Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month June 2019 – Enchanting Battenburg Corners Etched Dies were designed to create the beautiful textures that is reminiscent of the beautiful Battenberg lace. You can find out more about the origin of Battenburg lace here.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project

For my card I have made a top folding 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card out of white cardstock.

I created the shadow for the lace dies by using the corner edge dies on two sides of a piece of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ blue cardstock. I then die cut two complete corner dies using the small lace corner dies out of white cardstock and embossed them to create the texture. These were then added to the shadow die.

I die cut a small label from white cardstock and the next size up label out of blue cardstock using the Amazing Paper Grace Franscesca Labels Etched Dies. I glued the white label to the blue label before adding it to the centre of the decorative dies.

I then cut a piece of blue cardstock 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ and embossed it using the Amazing Paper Grace Orange Peel 3D Embossing Folder. I added the decorative medallion I had created to this using foam tape.

I added a strip of white satin ribbon across the centre of the decorative medallion and adhered it behind the embossed card and then added the entire panel to the front of the card.

I stamped the sentiment from Beccy’s Place Magnolia Stamp set on white cardstock using Tuxedo Black ink and then die cut it out using the small tag die from the Amazing Paper Grace Cascading Grace Etched Dies. This was then added to the centre of the labels using some foam tape.

To complete the card I added a double bow using the white satin ribbon and some pearls to the decorative die and on the bow.

Happy Birthday with Pink Fresh Studio

Kia ora Koutou

I enjoy colouring with alcohol markers but sometimes it is good to use stencils to colour my images as it makes it quick and easy to make a card. When I first got this Pink Fresh Studio Nothing But The Best Stamp & Die Set I wondered how it would look with a die cut edge when I saw a video that Bibi Cameron did on YouTube here using acetate to make a die cut edge be more stable. So I used the same concept but just did it a little differently and I was very happy with how it turned out. I added an extra layer of the die cut edge on top as well as another layer of the flowers to add some dimension to the card.

I also had some fun with embossing the Plaid Press Plate. using my Platinum machine and the lovely soft finish to the embossed edge came from a happy accident. I had tried inking the plate before embossing but it did not work out well and thought I had cleaned the plate but it wasn’t and it came out with this lovely soft aqua colour and it just worked so well with the colours I had used in the flowers. Especially as I had used an aqua colour (Turquoise) to ink the images first and also with the sentiment. I added a 1 1/2″ x 5 3/8″ strip to the bottom of the inside back to be able to show up the flowers better.

I struggle with leaving a lot of white space and as I had some of the plaid embossed card left I added a small strip and another coordinating plain aqua strip to the top of the card to cover the lacy edge from the Pink Fresh Studio Lacey Edgers 1 Dies.

Honey Bee Stamps – Thoughtful Flowers

Kia ora Koutou

I am enjoying entering in challenges from different paper craft companies as it helps to challenge me to go outside my comfort zone and learn and grown. Today I have a card made for a tic-tac-toe challenge on the Honey Bee Stamps | Buzzworthy Challenges Facebook Group. I have selected the Copic colouring, embossing folder and sequins row for my card today.

For my card I have coloured a piece of white cardstock randomly with Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn and Sheer Lilac Distress inks and then embossed it with the Honey Bee Stamps Embossing Folder Sandie’s Garden. I spritzed the embossed card with some Glimmer Mist and splattered some pearl watercolour before adding it to the front of the card.

I stamped the main image and the small images from the Honey Bee Stamps Everything Beautiful 6″ x 6″ Stamp set on Copic friendly paper and coloured the images with Copic markers listed below the photos. These images were then die cut with the coordinating dies before adding clear Wink of Stella and some Sparkling Dust.

I die cut a medium frame from the Pink Fresh Studio Notched Corner dies and added it to the card with foam squares. I also added a couple of single flowers under the frame – one to the top right under the frame and one to the bottom left under the frame before securing the frame to the card. I added a small label to the centre of the frame.

I added the main coloured image to the left side of the frame using foam tape to keep the image flat. I also added a couple of extra flowers behind the larger image.

I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in black ink and die cut it with the coordinating die. I also die cut another plain die and stacked the two dies together with the stamped image on top. The sentiment was then added to the bottom right over the flowers and frame and with some foam squares for more stability.

To finish the card I added some purple sequins from my stash to complete the tic-tac-toe brief.

Roses and Butterfly Pink Fresh Studio Challenge June 2024

Kia ora Koutou

I have my first entry for this month’s Pink Fresh Studio Monthly Challenge for June 2024. This month the challenge is to create an ombre or gradient element and the ink colours are Waterfall, Slumber, Sparkling Rose, Mimosa, Lemon Whip & Soft Lilac.

For my card I have really embraced the gorgeous rainbow colours on both the flowers and card base by creating rainbow coloured roses and a hot foiled rainbow coloured panel using the new Pink Fresh Studio Diagonal Plaid BetterPress Plate on the background of the card.

My Project

For my card I have made a top folding 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card out of white cardstock. I then cut another piece of white cardstock the same size and used the Pink Fresh Studio Diagonal Plaid BetterPress plate to emboss this card without colour using my Spellbinders Platinum machine. This embossed panel was then added to the front of the card base.

I then hot foiled another piece of white cardstock using Spellbinders Opal foil which acted as a type of resist and then created a rainbow effect by using all the inks in this challenge. I trimmed a piece of this rainbow card to 5 1/2″ x 1 1/2″. I die cut the decorative edge from white cardstock using the Pink Fresh Studio Lacey Edges 1 die set and adhered this behind the rainbow strip. This panel was then added to the left side of the card. I finished this edge by adding a very thin strip of white cardstock along the edge with the lace edge.

I stamped the rose image from the Pink Fresh Studio Garden Roses set using VersaMark ink and heat embossed with gold embossing Powder. I then coloured the roses in a rainbow effect using the stencil and the challenge inks. I die cut this image out and then stacked the die with another 3 plain dies withe the coloured image on top before adding to the front of the card.

I hot foiled the sentiment from the Pink Fresh Studio Wonderful Sentiments Hot Foil Plate in gold foil and die cut it with the coordinating die. I stacked two plain dies with the foiled sentiment on top and added it to the bottom left of the card over the roses.

I hot foiled the butterflies from the Pink Fresh Studio Small Butterflies Hot Foil Plate in Matte Gold foil and coloured them with Mimosa and Sparkling Rose inks before die cutting with the coordinating die. I added a butterfly using foam squares under the wings.

To finish the card I have added Glacier Jewels around the sentiment and flowers.

All Hearts Come Home for Christmas with Amazing Paper Grace

Meri Kirihimete

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Christmas Day filled with fun and laughter and the love of family and friends.

New Zealand is the first country in the world to celebrate Christmas Day and I am waking up to Christmas Day here while I know some people are still in Christmas Eve around the world. This is my final Christmas card for this year and it seems fitting that I have used this die set from Amazing Paper Grace – All Hearts Come Home. The sentiments are just lovely and I have only used the one die set and an embossing folder for this very elegant and pretty Christmas card. I have sort of CASEd a card from one I saw on Instagram but I have added some sparkling embossing to make it my own.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project

For my card I have made a side folding 5″ x 7″ base card out of white cardstock. I cut a piece of Glacier cardstock 4 3/4″ x 6 3/4″ and adhered it to the front of the card. I then cut a piece of vellum the same size and embossed it with the Amazing Paper Grace Holly Flourish Embossing Folder and added some glitter with WOW Embossing Ink for a little sparkle.

I die cut two frames from the Amazing Paper Grace All Hearts Come Home Dies out of Snowdrift cardstock and adhered them together before gluing them to the front of the sparkly embossed vellum. I die cut the house out of Snowdrift cardstock and adhered some gold mirror cardstock on the back which was trimmed to the house. This was added to the middle of the frame. Finally I die cut the banner sentiment out of gold and Snowdrift cardstock and adhered them together and added to the top of the vellum. I added glue to the back of the vellum behind the die cut shapes only and adhered this to the front of the blue card on the card base.

I die cut two sets of the ‘for christmas’ sentiments – one from gold and one from white cardstock. I adhered the gold card sentiment dies to the white sentiment dies and adhered the sentiments to the base of the frame as shown.

To finish the card I have added gold .pearls to the frame as shown

Amazing Paper Grace Happy Anniversary

Kia ora Koutou

Today I have combined three of my favourite techniques – flower making, die cutting and hot foiling in this anniversary card. I have been toying with an idea about hot foiling on acetate and finally managed to do a card with this idea. I still have other others in my head with hot foiling on acetate so watch this space… I have made a beautiful panel embossing rose coloured pearl card and hot foiling acetate with the same plate using the Amazing Paper Grace Diamonetta Background Hot Foil Plate and I was very pleased with how this card turned out. Add some beautiful borders from the Amazing Paper Grace Graceful Brackets and hand made Layered Cherry Blossoms finished with a very elegant hot foiled sentiment and the card is so elegant and very pretty

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project

For my card I have created a top folding 6″ x 6″ card base out of white cardstock. I layered the front with gold and Rose Glow card. I scored double lines down each side of the Rose Gold card to create some interest in the background.

I cut a piece of Rose Glow card 2 1/2″ x 5 3/4″ and embossed it with the Diamonetta Background Hot Foil Plate and added it across the front the card in the centre. I then hot foiled a piece of acetate 3″ x 5 3/4″ using the same hot plate in gold foil and adhered it over the embossed panel with double sided tape.

I die cut two background borders out of gold cardstock and two decorative borders out of Ivory cardstock using the dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Graceful Brackets. I adhered the decorative borders over the gold background slightly offsetting the dies to show some gold. These were then added either side of the centre panel. I die cut two scallop borders from the Amazing Paper Grace Graceful Brackets dies out of gold cardstock and adhered them to the borders as shown.

I hot foiled the sentiment from the Amazing Paper Grace Elegant Occasions Sentiment Hot Foil Plate and Die in gold foil and die cut it with the coordinating die. I also die cut three plain dies and stacked them together and added the foil sentiment on top. This was then placed in the centre of the decorative panel.

I die cut the flowers from the Amazing Paper Grace Layered Cherry dies and coloured them and assembled them. These were adhered to the right and left of the sentiment. I die cut the leaves from green cardstock and added them around the flowers.

To finish I added clear Wink of Stella to the flowers and gold pearls to the centres of the lattice and to the centres of the flowers.

Amazing Paper Grace Let It Snowman

Kia ora Koutou

Today I am sharing a card that I have created for a challenge in a Facebook group I belong to and the challenge is to create a card featuring a snow globe from any company’s designs. Of course I had to go to Amazing Paper Grace and the Let It Snowman dies from the Christmas Flourishes Collection by Becca Feeken. The colour combination on this card has been inspired by a card I saw on Instagram. I don’t normally put gold accents with soft blue and white but this combination really does work. This die set is an A2 set by I have made this A5 to really show up the embossed background I have created.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project

To make my card I have created a side opening 5″ x 7″ card from white cardstock. I have added a piece of 5″ x 7″ Snowdrift card to the front of the card to coordinate with my die cuts. I then cut a piece of soft blue cardstock 4 7/8″ x 6 7/8″ and added it to the front. I cut a piece of vellum the same size and embossed it with the Holly Flourish Embossing Folder. Before adding the vellum to the front of the card I die cut three frames from the Amazing Paper Grace Let it Snowman A2 Card Front Dies out of Snowdrift cardstock and some snow flakes from some white glitter paper I had in my stash. I stacked the three frames together and added them to the embossed vellum. I added some snowflakes above the frame. I then added some glue behind the snowflakes and frame and added the vellum to the front of the card.

I die cut the main body of the snowman out of Snowdrift cardstock and then added gold to the back of the body and trimmed it to fit. I hot foiled Opal foil to some blue cardstock and then die cut the hat and some snowflakes out of the lovely shiny blue card. The accents were die cut from gold cardstock and the nose from orange cardstock. I assembled the snowman and added it inside the frame.

I die cut the sentiment from Snowdrift and gold cardstocks, assembled them and added them to the base of the frame.

I added the blue snowflakes to the frame and more white glitter snowflakes to the centre of the frame around the snowman as shown.

To finish I added gold pearls to the frame, snowflakes and the snowman.

Dogwood Birthday Wishes

Kia ora Koutou

I am really enjoying branching out into different brands and one of the brands I keep coming back to is Honey Bee Stamps. I love their 3D Embossing Folders and their Lovely Layers including flowers and birds and today I have teamed these up with Amazing Paper Grace Frame dies and Heartfelt Creations Dogwood Flowers.

I really struggle to put sentiments on cards and this card was no exception. I spend a lot of time on flower making and putting a card together and sentiments are often the last thing on my mind and this card sat here for a couple of weeks before I finally sorted out the sentiments. I purchased the Honey Bee Stamps Mini Messages 6″ x 6″ Stamps and coordinating Honey Bee Stamps Mini Messages – Banners Honey Cuts and these were perfect to add to the card without detracting from the overall card.

Pink Fresh Studio Garden Roses Pocket Card

Kia ora Koutou

Today I am sharing a card that has a pocket inside that is just right for a gift voucher to give to someone special to say thank you. This card design could also be used for birthday and Christmas as well and is very easy to make. I was inspired for this card by a card that Pink Fresh Studio Influencer Yasmin Diaz created on Instagram. I have switched it up and turned it around and made the pocket for the gift voucher rather than for another smaller card like Yasmin has done.

My project

I have created a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ base card that is side folding. I have created three layers of lacey edges for the front using the lacey edge die from the Lacey Edges 1 die on the front of the card. I then added a panel in the front of the card and embossed it with the Stained Glass Die for more texture. For the inside of the card. I have cut a piece of white cardstock 5 3/8″ x 4 5/8″, scored at 2 1/2″ aong the long side and folded it to create a pocket. I have glued down the edges and then adhered the pocket to the inside of the card. I then added an embossed panel 2 3/8″ x 5 1/4″ to the front of the pocket.

I stamped the image from the Garden Rose Stamp in Versamark ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I coloured the images with pink and green inks using the coordinating stencils and then die cut with the matching die. I also cut another plain die to adhere the coloured image on top. I trimmed the roses to fit the front and inside back of the card as shown.

I hot foiled the sentiments from the Perfect Sentiment Hot Foil plate and die cut them out with the coordinating die. I also die cut another plain die to add the foiled sentiment on top. I then adhered the ‘Just a note’ sentiment to the top left of the card and the ‘thank you’ sentiment to the bottom right of the inside back.

To finish I have added some gold pearls around the sentiments.
