Get Well Wishes from CTMH

Welcome back.

I am getting low on get well cards at Gift Hutt so I got down to work to make these lovely cards.  I am finding that I am using my Artfully Sent cartridge more and more for unique and individual cards and I particularly love the lattice sleeve cards to create backgrounds for my embellishments.

For these cards I have used all four CTMH cartridges – Artfully Sent, Art Philosophy, Artiste and Artbooking.  I love using Cricut Craftroom to put all the images together to help make it easier to cut the images out.  I have used the sleeve from page 16 of the booklet and cut them at 4″ x 5 1/2″ and I have backed the lattice with Glacier cardstock for a lovely soft combination.

The frame has been cut from the Artbooking cartridge page 47 using White Daisy cardstock at 4″.  For the first card I cut the centre out but then I had a ‘doh’ moment and used the hide/contour function to cut the full background image out for the second card.

The flowers are what I have left from previous projects.  The flowers are cut from both the Artiste cartridge – page 54 in the booklet and the Art Philosophy cartridge – page 50 of the booklet.  To see how I have made these flowers please click here.  I have coloured the centres of the flowers in Canary ink and sponged the edges in Pixie ink.

The leaves have been cut in Pear cardstock from the Artiste page 54 – I am sorry I cut these some time ago and can’t remember what size I cut them out (possibly about 1 1/2″)

I have stamped the image from Sincere Expressions (which is sadly retiring) in Outdoor Denim ink (which is also retiring).

To finish off I have used Junebug Puffies to create the look of forget me knot flowers and some white shimmer trim.

Here is the second one with the centre that has not been cut out.  As you can see it is better without the cut.

Hello and welcome aboard our Stamp of the Month Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop. If you have arrived here from Jenny’s Blog The Creative Heart,  then you are in the right place. If you landed here by accident, no problem, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.

65bc62af-4491-4b56-8d98-eeb954b1e64b

Today I would like to share with you this layout  that I have made which features July Stamp of the Month Life is Wonderful available exclusively throughout June for NZ$33 or for just NZ $5 when you spend NZ$75.

My son was very fortunate to have gone to Japan on a school trip and  I have finally started scrapping his photos.  I have not used the Wanderful papers much but these are perfect for doing travel photos.  And the travel overlay and other travel related icons from the Artbooking cartridge goes so well with this.  I particularly like this overlay as you can get a lot of small images to use for the rest of the album.

#CTMH Life Is Wonderful

Yes I probably should have put the ‘is about to happen’ underneath the two stamped images but I am happy with how it has come out.

Life is Wonderful is only available until 31st July from your CTMH consultant.  I’d love you to leave a comment before heading off to the next stop,  Maz’s Blog, Inky Fingers

Materials used:

Cardstock – Crystal Blue, Colonial White, Flaxen

Paper – Wanderful

Stamps – Life is Wonderful

Having fun with Scaredy Cat and Seaside Papers from CTMH

Welcome

Just a very quick post today as I really should be working on my new website for Gift Hutt, but I am now in a routine with this blog.

Here are a couple more boxes that I have made as gift baskets to sell in Gift Hutt.  One of the new arrivals into the shop was this lovely bright orange bib and I instantly thought of Scaredy Cat papers and also the lovely foxes on the Artfully Sent cartridge.

2015-04-07 14.55.38

I had some fun decorating the boxes and used the gorgeous foxes from the Artfully Sent cartridge and cut them in a combination of Sunset, Black and Thistle cardstock, and added a little Thistle chevron ribbon to link with the Thistle cardstock and the patterned paper from the Scaredy Cat range.

Then sentiment Cherish has come from the Artbooking cartridge.

Here is the box with the bib and a lovely moulded soap in the shape of pig and teddy bear to make a lovely gift for a baby shower or a new arrival.

I also made a little 3″ x 3″ card out of Kraft cardstock as I didn’t have that colour combination in store.  The tag is from the Tagged with Love stamp set from the new Seasonal Expressions 2 catalogue and it is a lovely and versatile set and perfect for baby boxes.

The Seaside papers in combination with some Blossom papers also make a lovely baby themed box.  Here I have used the gorgeous spotted papers and distressed them with some Desert sand ink to make it look aged, and I have then added a strip and ribbon from the new Blossom range to make it look like a gift box.  Again I have added a tag tied with the lovely Glacier extra thick twine.  The pram has been cut using a Memory Box die that I have had for some time.

The Art of Hidden Journalling from CTMH

Welcome back

Keeping with the scapbooking theme here is a layout that I have done with some hidden journalling.  I prefer to hide my journalling, as for me it seems to take away from my artwork.  I have taken my inspiration from the layout in the Make It From Your Heart Volume 1 pattern 08.

Here is my layout using the Chalk It Up B&T papers, Complements and Assortments as well as the Artfully Sent Cartridge and Artbooking Cartridge.

CTMH Chalk it Up layout

I love the envelope that looks like a satchel and used my Artfully Sent cartridge to make the envelope.  I cut three different images – two the same size using Desert Sand cardstock and the herringbone paper and another one in the herringbone pattern that I used CCR to make a little smaller.   Unfortunately, I did not take any photos of the work in progress but I had to have the front in the herringbone pattern so I trimmed the top of it off the paper just before it folded over then adhered the herringbone paper image onto the Desert Sand image. I then put the smaller herringbone image on the top of the Desert Sand image and turned it over to create the satchel.  I then used Desert Sand trims to create the straps and finished off with the black sparkles from the Sparkles Black and Grey Assortments.

CTMH small bag

Here is the journalling inside the bag.  The little hook and loop dots are so useful for closing this little envelope/satchel.

CTMH Hopscotch Layouts with a Touch of Artfully Sent.

Welcome back.

Today I have another couple of layouts using the Hopscotch papers that are due to be retired at the end of the month.  I am going to miss this papers as the colours are gorgeous and the papers are really fun.

Last Easter my daughter had a craft making session with her friends, where they decorated up some Easter eggs and made them look like dinosaurs.  I took some photos, as you do, and when CTMH had a special a while back on Studio J I got these photos printed in different sizes.  The colours in the photos matched perfectly with the Hopscotch papers – particularly the Sorbet and Flaxen colours.

I have used the Hopscotch complements and assortments to finish of the embellishments as well as using the negative of the Sweet cut from Artbooking along with You’re the Bomb stamp set which is also retiring at the end of this month.

CTMH Hopscotch LayoutThe Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge is so versatile and here I have used the sleeve function to cut out the envelope to hold my journalling card for my daughter to complete when she can.  I have used the journalling card from the Artbooking Cartridge stamp set Take Note.  This stamp set is only available as part of the Artbooking Cricut cartridge and I use this a lot for my journalling.  Here is a close up of the sleeve and I have used strips of the Hopscotch papers to create the patterns.
CTMH Hopscotch Layout with an Artfully Sent Touch

Here is another layout using small strips of paper to embellish the layouts.  I have taken my inspiration from the Magic book but added my own twist.  I have also used Artfully Sent for the letters FUN and Artbooking cartridge for the embellishment and the Artiste cartridge for the Easter title.

CTMH Brushed Scrapbook Layout

Welcome back.

My favourite colour is pink and I am in love with the Brushed range of papers from Close to My Heart.  The Brushed Workshop on the Go layout is stunning and I have just completed that to show at a craft fair that I will be going to next weekend.  I also love the layout on page 102 and with the help of Flo Hill-Rennie from Oh So Many Crafts I learnt how to do the layers and hide function on the Cricut to make that layout.  This led me on to doing another layout that could be used in conjunction with with this single layout.  I wanted to create the effect of flowers going up a trellis and I hope that I have achieved this.

Brushed layout 1Here are some close ups of the layout:

Brushed layout 2

I have used a combination of two stamp sets for the flowers  – the Brushed WOTG and A Budding Friendship.  The flowers have been coloured in using the new Shinhan Twin Touch markers.  I haven’t blended as well as I could with the markers but I have been feeling unwell and it was the best I could do.  The small yellow flowers have been stamped with Canary ink and then the outline stamp with Black ink from the A Budding Friendship stamp set.  I love this technique as it is so quick and easy and then all I needed to do was cut the images out.  The leaves are a combination of stamping the leaves from the WOTG stamp set onto both Pear and Sweet Leaf cardstock and fussy cutting them out, and using the same technique with the yellow flowers I have used Pear and Sweet Leaf inks with the base stamp and then stamped the outline with Black ink.

Brushed layout 3

I have used gold sequins for the middle of the yellow flowers and then coloured clear sparkles with Cherry Pink Shinhan Twin Touch markers and placed it in the middle to coordinate with the pink flowers.    I used Liquid Glass on the ladybird to create the three dimensional look.

Brushed layout 4

The butterflies have been cut using the Artbooking cartridge and then using the rock and roll technique I have stamped the image using Canary and Pixie ink.  The sparkles have been coloured with Tender Pink.

The sentiment is vellum from the Complements pack and I have placed that on White Daisy cardstock and fussy cut it out and placed it on the layout using the foam tape.

There is a gorgeous splodge stamp in the WOTG stamp set and I have used a combination of Pear, Canary and Pixie inks to make a lovely background card for the layout.

I will be at the Wellington Paper Arts and Craft Fair next weekend and would love to see you there where I will be taking a cardmaking class for these cards:

If you are going to the Paper Arts Show in Wellington pop into our stand and say hello – I would love to meet you.  I will have some extra kits available if you are not able to make it to the class.

Paper – Brushed B&T Duos

Stamps – Brushed WOTG, A Budding Friendship

CTMH Confetti Wishes and Artbooking

Welcome back

Today I had a productive time at Scrapbook Corner at the Upper Hutt Library.  I have taken a break from the Chalk It Up school layouts and thought I might give Confetti Wishes a go for James’ birthday photos.  Confetti Wishes has such vibrant colours and the papers are just perfect for birthday layouts.   I have got my inspiration for both layouts from the Make It From Your Heart Volume 2 book.  I have used these books so much that I have had them bound so they could last longer.

James was very lucky and had 3 birthday parties for his 5th birthday.  Today I will feature two of the birthdays – one for kindy and the other his birthday party and home.

Here is the first layout using the pattern No 6, page 16  from the Make it From Your Heart book and I have changed the orientation from the what is displayed in the pattern to fit the photos.  This is James’ party at home and I have used the Artbooking cartridge to cut the titles and the parcels and the ‘wish’ is actually the offcut from the Make a Wish title from the next layout.  I am still to do the journalling and I have finished off with Confetti Wishes Complements and Assortments.   I have used my Twin Touch markers to colour the clear sparkles to match the colours in the range.  I no longer need to worry about getting many different colours of sparkles to match my projects with the Twin Touch markers.

watermakered CTMH layout

Here is a close up of the parcels.

CTMH watermarked image 2

I cut two parcel shapes  out of the striped Confetti paper – one was reversed to get the different papers.  I also used Pacifica and Canary scraps to piece the parcels and also embossed them with different embossing folders from CTMH – dots and chevrons.

Here is the second layout and this time I have used pattern No 14 on page 32.  I am not sure if I am happy with the blue patterned paper as it makes it a little busy but other than that the photos really worked well with this layout.  I put a cake on this paper and to make it stand out I used my grey Twin touch marker to outline the cake and make it stand out more.  The Confetti Wishes Complements and Assortments made it easy to complete the layouts and I still am looking at putting in some journalling – perhaps with some flip flaps which are so versatile.

CTMH watermarked image 3

I have done a single page layout but I am still to finish it so it was a very productive day.  I am starting to get through James’ photos and eventually they will be done.

Materials used:

Cardstock – Pacifica, Canary, Thistle

Paper – Confetti Wishes

Embellishments – Confetti Wishes Complements, Confetti Wishes Assortment

Artbooking cartridge

Thistle chevron ribbon

Clear Sparkles

Twin Touch markers – Golden Yellow, Sap Green, Lavender (I work with colours and not numbers)

Embossing folders – dots, chevron

I hope that you have a good week.

Happy Crafting
