Welcome Georgie to the CTMH Family

Welcome Back

I am really enjoying the new products from the new Annual Inspirations book that was released at the beginning of the month.  The new paper ranges are fabulous but I think my favourite has to be the new Georgie range.  It must be one of the most beautiful baby papers ever and the colours are perfect for boy or girl projects being gender neutral.  And the stamp sets to match are gorgeous as well and I will be using them for a long time – particularly the WOTG stamp set featured here.

I sell a lot of cards (particularly baby cards) though Gift Hutt and it is so nice to have cards that are gender neutral as it seems to be the fashion not to know the sex of the baby before it is born now.  I have had a lot of fun with the stamp set, papers and coordinating embellishments from the WOTG to make these cards.

Artistry from CTMH

Welcome back

This is a quick post today featuring a card that I made for my sister-in-law,s birthday.  This is totally different to what I normally make but it is good to stretch and challenge myself sometimes. I have based this card on pattern 25 from the Make it From Your Heart Vol. 1 how to book.   There is no stamping on this card at all – the sentiment, scallop edge and champagne glasses have been cut from the new Artistry Cricut cartridge.  I have used a small strip of paper from the new White Pines paper range as those colours and pattern was perfect for Lissa.  The champagne in the glasses have been cut from the Sangria papers while I added some sparkle and bubbles with the new Fundamentals Assortments – Glacier.

2015-09-06 17.25.26

Materials used:

Cardstock – New England Ivy, Colonial White, Glacier

Papers – White Pines, Sangria

Ink – Champagne

Cricut Cartridge – Artistry

Fundamentals assortments – Glacier

Glacier extra thick twine.

As usual all the materials used here are available on my website here.

Have a great week and Happy Crafting

CTMH Australasian Blog Hop – Nevermore

Hello and welcome aboard our Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop featuring one of the new paper ranges from the Annual Inspirations book which came out on the 1st September- Nevermore. If you have arrived here from Lauren’s Blog, CTMH Craftings,  then you are in the right place. If you landed here by accident, no problem, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.

I really wasn’t sure about this paper range as it is more for Halloween projects and we do not really celebrate Halloween in New Zealand.  However, when I saw this gorgeous gothic looking paper I immediately thought French.  My daughter had an amazing holiday in Europe a couple of years ago and took some fabulous photos of the Eiffel Tower and I thought straight away of using this paper to do a layout for them.   However, I have not been able to get the papers in time to do the layout so I practiced with the smaller sample size of the paper to make a card (please come back to see the layout with the photos of the Eiffel Tower).

#CTMH Nevermore, Artistry and Artiste cartridges

Note to self do not match colours late at night when I am tired and it is dark.  I cut the flowers out of Pomegranate, Fern and Pink Glitter paper late at night and then realised the next morning that the paper actually coordinates with Eggplant.  However, I was happy to leave the colours as the flowers stand out really well from the darker background.  The chandelier has been cut out in Colonial White cardstock from the Artiste cartridge and sponged with Whisper ink to create an aged look.  I then put some sparkles on the drops of the chandelier to add some bling and make it a little more realistic.  The label has been cut using the Art Philosophy cartridge and stamped using a stamp from the Frame Flair stamp set.  The sentiment is from the Happy to Be Friends stamp set.  I have added some small sparkles flourishes which are no longer available.

Here is a close up of the flowers.

2015-09-03 14.47.11

For the inside I have cut a piece of Colonial White cardstock 5 3/4″ x 5 3/4″ and stamped the Eiffel Tower from the Armour stamp set (NLA) on the left side.  The edges have been sponged with Whisper ink and I drew the line around the edge freehand with the Marvy Uchida Le Pen to follow through with the French theme.

Today I would like to share with you some artwork which features September Stamp of the Month Paper Garden available exclusively throughout September for $33 or for just $10 when you spend $75.

f00b3276-466c-4b1c-b1de-1f0c24071df6

This stamp set is so beautiful and as soon as I received it I was playing with it.  I have used different techniques to show you how versatile this stamp set is.

First up is some cards:

_DSC0770

I have used a centre step fold for this card and used sponge daubers to ink up the stamp to get the water coloured effect.  I have used Sweet Leaf, Pear, Canary and Pixie inks and I am very happy how this turned out.  These colours worked perfectly with the green spotted paper from the Brushed paper range and Canary cardstock.  I kept it simple with a Topiary chevron ribbon bow and a simple Thank you from the Just to Say stamp set from the Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge set.

_DSC0767

The same colour combination but with different papers and some embosssing using the Damask embossing folder.

_DSC0771

This card has been sponged using the Texture tools on the while supplies last list.  I have used Sweet Leaf and Canary inks with a touch of Flaxen ink.  I love the effect of this and I then stamped the netting using a second generation inking with Slate ink and then using Cocoa ink I stamped the flower image for a silhouette effect.

_DSC0773

I thought I would try something completely different and do a clean and simple card with this card.  I have used Slate and Black inks for the stamping.  The jury is still out on this and I would be interested in what you think of it.  The sentiment is from the Happy to Be Friends stamp set.

_DSC0765

For this card I have embossed the image on Black cardstock using versamark ink and then embossed with White embossing powder.  I then coloured the image using my ShinHan Touch Twin markers.  I have a list of the markers I used below.  I have done the same for the Thank You sentiment.  Because this is so vibrant I was able to use Canary and Thistle cardstock for the cardstock and scalloped trim.

Finally I was really inspired by the beautiful layout in the new Seasonals Expressions book and here is my version using a special photo that was taken too many years ago to count.

_DSC0814

I have used the pattern for this layout from the Make it From Your Heart Volume Volume 1 – age 40 pattern 18.  I have used the same sponge daubing technique for the background flowers and then cut the flowers and leaves out using the Artiste cartridge and stamped them with the Thistle and Canary inks.  The leaves have been stamped using the Rock and Roll technique with Pear and Topiary inks.  The smaller flowers have been stamped using the Rock and Roll technique with Thistle and Canary inks to add a little interest to the flowers.  The bling gold gems and the little flowers and butterflies from the Junebug puffies just add the final touch.

The title has been cut from the Artbooking cartridge using one of the new colours Eggplant and Slate cardstock for a shadow effect.  This goes well with the Thistle coloured Paper Fundamentals paper.  the flourish under the flower is from the Artbooking cartridge too.

Here is a close up of the flowers.

Catching up with some UFOs.

Welcome back

This week I have been carded out as well as still waiting for my order to arrive so I thought I would look at some UFOs – Un Finished Objects.  A couple of months ago I bought the gorgeous A Taste of Summer paper pack that was part of the National Scrapbooking month as well as the coordinating stamp set.  I found some photos from when my children were young and the colours matched the papers very well and started to do the layouts and then got side tracked.  So today I got them out and finished them.  I did 4 layouts today but ran out of sunlight to take photos of them all, but I was very pleased to be able to put them in my album.   I have used the Reflections How To Book for my inspiration.

2015-08-23 16.57.45

I have cut all the titles out from the Artbooking Cricut cartidge and all the fruit has been stamped and fussy cut out.

2015-08-23 16.39.34

I have used the Charming Chevrons stamp set and added a bit of sparkle with the coordinating sparkles chevron shapes which is no longer available.  The title has been cut from both Sunset cardstock and White Daisy cardstock to help it stand out from the background paper.

2015-08-23 18.08.46

The camera has been cut using the new Artistry cartridge in Slate and Hollyhock cardstock.  I have also used the new Artistry cartridge to cut the Smile and Enjoy sentiments.  These cuts are quite different in that the cuts are designed to go inside the frames so I have cut out the inners with White Daisy cardstock and stamped the frame image on the pink patterned paper and then fussy cut them out.  My daughter was wearing a dress that I had made using strawberry covered fabric which tied in really well with the papers.

2015-08-23 17.17.58

Here is a close up of the tags and I have used the Marvy Uchida Le Pen journaling pen to create a sewing line for the pocket.

Materials used:

Cardstock – White Daisy, Kraft, New England Ivy, Hollyhock, Sunset, Slate

Paper – A Taste of Summer

Stamps- A Taste of Summer, Perfect Picture Cricut Collection (Artistry), Tagged with Love, Year>>Noted, Charming Chevron, Sweet and Love Cricut Cartridge (Artbooking)

Inks – Sunset, Ruby, Cranberry, Topiary, New England Ivy, Goldrush, Glacier

Cricut Cartridge – Artistry, Art Philosophy, Artbooking

Sparkles Chevron Shapes – NLA

Stuck on You Puffies

Topiary chevron ribbon.

I hope you have enjoyed something different from me this week.

CTMH Australasian Zoe Blog Hop

Hello and welcome aboard our CTMH Australasian Blog Hop featuring the beautiful Zoe Reflections range of papers and embellishments. If you have arrived here from Maz’s Blog, Inky Fingers then you are in the right place. If you landed here by accident, no problem, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.

Today I would like to share with you a project that I have made using the new Zoe paper range.  This is gorgeous paper that is so perfect for scrapbooking but I wanted to do something different with it so I have made a calendar book to put in all the birthdays throughout the year so you will never forget a birthday again.  I first made one of these many years ago when I started some classes and they are simple to do even if you have no Cricut machine.

To start I cut 14 sheets of cardstock at 8 1/4″ x 11 1/2″.  I have used Slate, Whisper, Glacier, Sorbet and Canary cardstock to match the papers on the papers.  For the front I have used the sorbet coloured papers from the Whimsy Fundamentals paper pack.  I then scored down the centre of the longer side at 5 3/4″ and folded it in half.  I then used my trimmer to cut down the centre for 3″.  I then used my CTMH Versamat and lined up to cut diagonally from the bottom of the cut to 3″ on the side.

2015-08-16 10.53.06

2015-08-16 10.48.30-1

I then had some fun decorating with the Zoe papers.  Once I had done that I then used double sided tape at the bottom of the page to create a pocket to stop papers and cards falling through the bottom.

2015-08-16 14.28.48

Here are the pages ready for binding.

2015-08-17 07.54.42

I went to my local copy place and got the booklet spiral bound as I don’t have my own binder.  The binding makes it much stronger than if I had just used some rings.

I then finished embellishing the pages.  For the left sides of the pages I have cut a piece of White Daisy cardstock and stamped the lines with the lines stamp from the Year >>Noted stamp set which is no longer available.  I didn’t have the time to stamp the months at the top so I trimmed the words from the zip strip and adhered them to the top.  I used my new Artistry cartridge to cut the flowers (3 1/2″) out of Sorbet cardstock for the page and also for the front page from page 12 .  I also cut the other flowers (1″) from the same page for creating some continuity throughout the book.

I also made some coordinating cards to go into each pocket and used this month’s SOTM set Framed for the sentiments and this time I cut the shapes out with the Artistry cartridge.  I have tried to do a mix of feminine and masculine cards.

Here are the finished pages:

Some Jackson Masculine Cards

Welcome back

I had some computer problems last week so I am a little late with this post.  Normally I love feminine cards with lots of flowers so this week I will be featuring some masculine cards.  I love how CTMH has a lovely range of papers especially for masculine layouts and cards and In the Seasonal Expressions 2  they have released the Jackson range of papers.  I must admit to really struggling with this paper range as it has brown in it.  I love all colours except I cannot handle brown – a very long story.

But there is enough blue to offset the brown trims in these papers and here are three quick cards I have made with the papers and the Hats Off Hostess stamp set.

_DSC0774

I love the simplicity of this card with a little bow tie from the Stuck on You Puffies embellishments.

_DSC0777

The clock on this card has been cut using the Artiste cartridge and I have stamped the clock image with slate and sponged the edges with Whisper.

_DSC0775

The hat in this card has been stamped and then fussy cut and placed on the card using the thin foam tape for a bit of dimension.  The little puffie stickers just add the finishing touches.

Materials used:

Cardstock – Colonial White, Barnyard Red

Paper – Jackson

Stamps – Hats Off – Hostess stamp

Inks – Slate, Black, Whisper

Stuck on You Puffies

Cricut Artiste cartridge

These products are still available until the end of this month when the new Annual Inspirations book comes out.  Please visit my website here to purchase any products.

There are some gorgeous new products coming out and this week there is a blog hop for the new Zoe papers which are just beautiful.

Have a good week and Happy Crafting

Australasian CTMH SOTM Blog Hop – Framed

Hello and welcome aboard ourStamp of the month Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop. If you have arrived here from Meryl’s blog Mez’s Craft Room,  then you are in the right place. If you landed here by accident, no problem, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.

c7e735cf-9ee4-441e-882c-766231aacbd4

Today I would like to share with you several cards and a special project which features the August Stamp of the Month Framed available exclusively throughout August for $33 or for just $5 when you spend $75.  This stamp set is a MUST HAVE for cardmakers.  The frames are wonderful and easy to cut out if you have no Cricut machine and the sentiments fit every occasion you can think of.   However, if you are lucky to have the new Artistry cartridge then you can use that to cut the frames out.

Before moving onto the cards I would like to share a little box that have made using the Artiste cartridge and the paper fundamentals (whimsy).  I have cut the flower out using a combination of Artiste and Art Philosophy cartridges and placed it on the front and added a little framed tag for a special box.  It didn’t take very long at all once I had it all the pieces together.  I finished with a little heart from the Stuck on You Puffies – on the while supplies last list.

_DSC0750

I really enjoy using contrasting colours and this card uses Lagoon and Sorbet colours together which picks up the colours of the flowers in the patterned paper from the Blossom Reflections pack.

_DSC0762

#CTMH SOTM Framed

I am going to miss the Seaside papers as they are wonderful for masculine cards.  Here I have used one of the stickers from the Complements pack.

_DSC0758

For this card I have cut out the flowers and leave from the patterned paper and layered them on the card.

#CTMH SOTM Framed

I love the Yuletide Carol papers as they are so traditional for Christmas and the complements are beautiful as well.  For these Christmas cards I have used gold embossing to add to the traditional feel to the cards. (Unfortunately, a lot of other people thought the same and the papers and complements are now sold out!)

#CTMH SOTM Framed

I have looked at this little bird for a long time on the Art Philosophy cartridge and finally used it with this card to add a whimsical accent to the card.

#CTMH SOTM Framed

This paper does not need a lot of embellishments and the small sticker and the frame with the sentiment just adds j the finishing touches to this card.

Framed is only available until 30 August from your CTMH consultant here.  I’d love you to leave a comment before heading off to the next stop, Lauren’s Blog, CTMH Craftings.

More from Blossom

Welcome back

We are almost at the end of the Seasonal Expressions 2 book and I am really going to miss the Blossom range of products from this book.  The colours are so beautiful and can be used for a wide range of projects from masculine to feminine and babies.  I am normally a pink girl but Blossom has turned me around.  One of my first purchases from the Seasonals Expression 2 catalogue was the Blossom WOTG Card Making kit.  The stamps were gorgeous and I will be using them a lot for a long time.

Here are a couple of cards I have made using the stamp set and the  ideas from the WOTG ideas booklet.  The first card is using the background to one of the cards but I have turned it into a portrait card and ‘hung’ the sentiment up with some Glacier extra thick twine.  I have used the leaf stamp and then cut out the flowers from the Art Philosophy cartridge page at 1″ .  I curled up the petals using the end of a paint brush to get a little dimension.  I have finished with some clear sparkles, Coral Sequins and Junebug Puffies.

2015-07-19 09.47.14

2015-07-20 07.54.41

The second card has been turned around again and this time I have made a trim using the retired zipper lace in Lagoon to add something extra to the card.  It fitted in well with Pear cardstock and a strip of the floral patterned paper.

Materials used:

Cardstock – Pear, Kraft, White Daisy

Paper – Blossom

Stamps – Blossom WOTG

Inks – Pear, Black, Glacier

Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge

Extra Thick Twine – Glacier

Clear Sparkles

Coral Sequins

Junebug Puffies

The Blossom WOTG is still available for sale on my website here – but you will need to be quick as some of the current products are selling out very quickly.

Have a good week and Happy Crafting
