Today I would like to share with you this card which features December Stamp of the Month Candlelight Garden  available exclusively throughout December for $33 or for just $10 when you spend $75.

2015-11-28 17.56.57

This card came together very quickly.  I had die cut the oval and then stamped the flower bouquet image onto it.  The image was a little too big for the oval so I just bent the end of the stamp over the edge of the acrylic block and it worked out well.  I used the CTMH blender pen to pick up colour from ink pads to colour the image in for something a little different from watercolouring.  ( I don’t have an archival ink pad which doesn’t bleed as much with watercolours) I was able to get a soft colour with good depth for dimension.  I used the last of my colour blending ribbon to make a bow and the Glacier bow from the Paper Fundamentals assortment finished of the card nicely.

Candlelight Garden is only available until 31 December from your CTMH consultant.  I’d love you to leave a comment before heading off to the next stop,  Wendy’s Blog – Expressions of the Heart.

This is my final blog hop for the Australasian CTMH blog hops.  I have really enjoyed sharing my artwork with you and hope that you have been inspired to create your own artwork.  I would like to wish all the CTMH consultants that have gone hopping with me all the best in their CTMH careers.  It has been a pleasure working with you and I have been inspired by all your artwork as well.

Today I would like to share with you cards I have made with these lovely papers. available until the 31st December through the Seasonal Expressions book.  There is so much versatility with these papers with a wide variety of colours and patterns.  I love the WOTG stamp set and featured this in my cards.

#CTMH White Pines

This card base has been made using the Artfully Sent cartridge and the embellishments are from the Artistry cartridge.

#CTMH White Pines

My new favourite embossing folder is the Confetti folder and here I have layered Fern and Ruby onto the embossed cardstock – it is a little difficult to pick it up in the photo.

2015-11-01 18.17.10

This colour paper is very Christmassy and I have used the new red enamel dots for the holly berries.

2015-11-01 18.06.32

Another Artfully Sent card this time using the Glacier colours for a more muted colour scheme using Fern and Glacier and the trees from the WOTG scrapbooking kit.

Finally I have made some card voucher holder cards.  I cut the base card out of Glacier cardstock and I have decorated the front with the lovely blue paper and the matching Christmas trees from the WOTG kit.

#CTMH White Pines

Here is the inside of the card.  I have cut the card holder using the Artiste cartridge at 4″ from the blue paper and adhered it to the middle of the card.  I then cut the Colonial White cardstock and decorated them with stamps from the Holiday Cheer stamp set.  I don’t normally decorate inside the cards but I had to do so here in order to have somewhere to write a greeting in it.

#CTMH White Pines

Here is another card that I have done using the same technique.  This time I have used another companies die to cut the shape on the front and then decorated with the stamps from the Holiday Cheer stamp set.

#CTMH White Pines

I cut another shape out of the Colonial White cardstock and cut it in half to place on either side of the card holder.  The white shimmer trim made a lovely accent to the card.

#CTMH White Pines

The White Pines papers and embellishments are only available until 31st December. from your CTMH consultant.  I’d love you to leave a comment before heading off to the next stop,  Vandra’s blog Vandra’s Virtual CTMH Craftroom.

Wavy Blooms are Perfect for Watercolouring

Welcome back

I apologise for no blog post last week but I have been very busy and finding it hard to get any crafting done.   Plus I was waiting on my order for new products to arrive.  I also apologise for not getting around to everyone’s blogs to see what they have done and leave comments.  I just seem to run out of time to get to the reader.

Anyway, today I have some cards that I have made using the Wavy Blooms set and the new watercolours from CTMH.  I used to do watercolour painting a few years ago and but unfortunately, I no longer have the concentration and hands to do it anymore.  Plus I wasn’t great at drawing which is why I love stamping so much – someone else has drawn the image for me.  So I was really excited that watercolouring is now back in fashion.

For these cards I have stamped and embossed the images on the watercolour paper and then using my own paintbrush painted the flowers with the watercolours.  I used the vibrant yellow in the centres and the pink/red colour on the outside.  The trick with watercolour is to use a lot of water.  I had to work fast to help the colours blend together.  The watercolour paper is very different to what I have used in the past and it took some time to get used to it.  I think it is suitable for colouring in like what I have done or very basic backgrounds but I could not do a layered background like I could with the other papers.

#CTMH Wavy Blooms and Watercolour

For this card I have also used the new circle diffuser which helps make it easier to add the circle shapes onto the embossed background.  For the centre of the flower I have used liquid glass and some small gold beads I had in my stash for something different.

#CTMH Wavy Blooms and Watercolour

I have used the new confetti embossing folder for this card and the following two cards.  It is so versatile and great to use both ends on two cards.  I love how the smaller flower went well on the larger flower.

#CTMH Wavy Blooms and Watercolour

The coral shimmer tape went perfectly with the flowers.

#CTMH Wavy Blooms and Watercolour

I also used the light yellow and greens for the small flowers and they went perfectly with the Pear cardstock.

I was very happy with how these cards turned out.  They are bright and vibrant and would certainly cheer someone up when they receive one of these cards.

Materials used:

Cardstock – White Daisy, Pear, Watercolour paper

Stamps – Sending Love

Inks – Pear, Versamark

Gold Embossing Powder

Embossing folders – Diamonds,

Embossing Diffuser – Round

Gold Sequins

Clear Sparkles

Gold bling gems

Shimmer trims – gold, coral

Small gold beads – from my stash

Liquid glass

These cards will be for sale at Gift Hutt.  The materials used will are available for sale from my website here.

Le Vie En Rose from CTMH

Welcome back.

I have been very busy lately, but still managed to get a couple of cards using the new Le Vie En Rose papers from CTMH.  These papers are just gorgeous and so dramatic for all sorts of different projects.  Here are a couple of cards I have made using these papers.

2015-09-23 08.54.29

I often get requests for cards that do not have a sentiment on it and this card came together very well with the help of my Artiste cartridge.

2015-09-23 08.55.18

Another very simple card using the sentiment from the Belated Birthday stamp set.  The papers are so beautiful there is little need for embellishment.

Materials used:

Cardstock – Black, Ruby, Pomegranate, White Daisy

Paper – Le Vie En Rose

Stamp – Belated Birthday

Ink – Black

Silver Sequins

Gold Gems

Artiste Cricut cartridge

I hope you enjoy these cards and next up is a blog hop featuring another gorgeous paper range – Sangria.

Happy Crafting

Welcome Georgie to the CTMH Family

Welcome Back

I am really enjoying the new products from the new Annual Inspirations book that was released at the beginning of the month.  The new paper ranges are fabulous but I think my favourite has to be the new Georgie range.  It must be one of the most beautiful baby papers ever and the colours are perfect for boy or girl projects being gender neutral.  And the stamp sets to match are gorgeous as well and I will be using them for a long time – particularly the WOTG stamp set featured here.

6a9392e3-9a53-4a27-b6cb-36ab3b476ffc

I sell a lot of cards (particularly baby cards) though Gift Hutt and it is so nice to have cards that are gender neutral as it seems to be the fashion not to know the sex of the baby before it is born now.  I have had a lot of fun with the stamp set, papers and coordinating embellishments from the WOTG to make these cards.

Artistry from CTMH

Welcome back

This is a quick post today featuring a card that I made for my sister-in-law,s birthday.  This is totally different to what I normally make but it is good to stretch and challenge myself sometimes. I have based this card on pattern 25 from the Make it From Your Heart Vol. 1 how to book.   There is no stamping on this card at all – the sentiment, scallop edge and champagne glasses have been cut from the new Artistry Cricut cartridge.  I have used a small strip of paper from the new White Pines paper range as those colours and pattern was perfect for Lissa.  The champagne in the glasses have been cut from the Sangria papers while I added some sparkle and bubbles with the new Fundamentals Assortments – Glacier.

Materials used:

Cardstock – New England Ivy, Colonial White, Glacier

Papers – White Pines, Sangria

Ink – Champagne

Cricut Cartridge – Artistry

Fundamentals assortments – Glacier

Glacier extra thick twine.

As usual all the materials used here are available on my website here.

CTMH Australasian Blog Hop – Nevermore

Hello and welcome aboard our Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop featuring one of the new paper ranges from the Annual Inspirations book which came out on the 1st September- Nevermore. If you have arrived here from Lauren’s Blog, CTMH Craftings,  then you are in the right place. If you landed here by accident, no problem, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.

I really wasn’t sure about this paper range as it is more for Halloween projects and we do not really celebrate Halloween in New Zealand.  However, when I saw this gorgeous gothic looking paper I immediately thought French.  My daughter had an amazing holiday in Europe a couple of years ago and took some fabulous photos of the Eiffel Tower and I thought straight away of using this paper to do a layout for them.   However, I have not been able to get the papers in time to do the layout so I practiced with the smaller sample size of the paper to make a card (please come back to see the layout with the photos of the Eiffel Tower).

#CTMH Nevermore, Artistry and Artiste cartridges

Note to self do not match colours late at night when I am tired and it is dark.  I cut the flowers out of Pomegranate, Fern and Pink Glitter paper late at night and then realised the next morning that the paper actually coordinates with Eggplant.  However, I was happy to leave the colours as the flowers stand out really well from the darker background.  The chandelier has been cut out in Colonial White cardstock from the Artiste cartridge and sponged with Whisper ink to create an aged look.  I then put some sparkles on the drops of the chandelier to add some bling and make it a little more realistic.  The label has been cut using the Art Philosophy cartridge and stamped using a stamp from the Frame Flair stamp set.  The sentiment is from the Happy to Be Friends stamp set.  I have added some small sparkles flourishes which are no longer available.

Here is a close up of the flowers.

2015-09-03 14.47.11

For the inside I have cut a piece of Colonial White cardstock 5 3/4″ x 5 3/4″ and stamped the Eiffel Tower from the Armour stamp set (NLA) on the left side.  The edges have been sponged with Whisper ink and I drew the line around the edge freehand with the Marvy Uchida Le Pen to follow through with the French theme.

#CTMH - Nevermore

The gorgeous Nevermore paper is now available from the new Annual Inspirations catalogue and will be for the next year from your CTMH consultant here.  I’d love you to leave a comment before heading off to the next stop,  Vandra’s blog,  Vandra’s Virtual CTMH Blog to see what wonderful creations she has made.

Welcome back

Today is Father’s Day and I have made a few cards out of the new papers that have just been released at the start of this month in the new Annual Inspirations book.  There are some amazing papers and some really grungy papers for great masculine cards and layouts.  Here I have used a combination of papers and some new colours from the new book along with some steam punk cogs to make some very different cards.  I have used the new Sapphire colour to add a pop of colour to these grungy cards.

CTMH Australasian SOTM Blog Hop – Paper Garden

Hello and welcome aboard our Stamp of the month Australasian Close to My Heart Blog Hop. If you have arrived here from Meryl’s blog – Mez’s Craft Room then you are in the right place. If you landed here by accident, no problem, please join in by following the link at the end of this post.

Today I would like to share with you some artwork which features September Stamp of the Month Paper Garden available exclusively throughout September for $33 or for just $10 when you spend $75.

f00b3276-466c-4b1c-b1de-1f0c24071df6

This stamp set is so beautiful and as soon as I received it I was playing with it.  I have used different techniques to show you how versatile this stamp set is.

First up is some cards:

_DSC0770

I have used a centre step fold for this card and used sponge daubers to ink up the stamp to get the water coloured effect.  I have used Sweet Leaf, Pear, Canary and Pixie inks and I am very happy how this turned out.  These colours worked perfectly with the green spotted paper from the Brushed paper range and Canary cardstock.  I kept it simple with a Topiary chevron ribbon bow and a simple Thank you from the Just to Say stamp set from the Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge set.

_DSC0767

The same colour combination but with different papers and some embosssing using the Damask embossing folder.

_DSC0771

This card has been sponged using the Texture tools on the while supplies last list.  I have used Sweet Leaf and Canary inks with a touch of Flaxen ink.  I love the effect of this and I then stamped the netting using a second generation inking with Slate ink and then using Cocoa ink I stamped the flower image for a silhouette effect.

_DSC0773

I thought I would try something completely different and do a clean and simple card with this card.  I have used Slate and Black inks for the stamping.  The jury is still out on this and I would be interested in what you think of it.  The sentiment is from the Happy to Be Friends stamp set.

_DSC0765

For this card I have embossed the image on Black cardstock using versamark ink and then embossed with White embossing powder.  I then coloured the image using my ShinHan Touch Twin markers.  I have a list of the markers I used below.  I have done the same for the Thank You sentiment.  Because this is so vibrant I was able to use Canary and Thistle cardstock for the cardstock and scalloped trim.

Finally I was really inspired by the beautiful layout in the new Seasonals Expressions book and here is my version using a special photo that was taken too many years ago to count.

_DSC0814

I have used the pattern for this layout from the Make it From Your Heart Volume Volume 1 – age 40 pattern 18.  I have used the same sponge daubing technique for the background flowers and then cut the flowers and leaves out using the Artiste cartridge and stamped them with the Thistle and Canary inks.  The leaves have been stamped using the Rock and Roll technique with Pear and Topiary inks.  The smaller flowers have been stamped using the Rock and Roll technique with Thistle and Canary inks to add a little interest to the flowers.  The bling gold gems and the little flowers and butterflies from the Junebug puffies just add the final touch.

The title has been cut from the Artbooking cartridge using one of the new colours Eggplant and Slate cardstock for a shadow effect.  This goes well with the Thistle coloured Paper Fundamentals paper.  the flourish under the flower is from the Artbooking cartridge too.

Here is a close up of the flowers.
