Christmas Bells are Coming For Christmas

Kia Ora Koutou

Welcome back and today I am sharing three cards made with the beautiful Christmas Bells paper, motifs and dies from Dress My Craft.

I am really loving the Christmas Bells collection from Dress My Craft for making Christmas cards.  The papers are just stunning with a wide range of different colours and patterns for all Christmas card makers.  I have used gold accents to highlight the gorgeous reds, pinks and greens.

My first card is a shaker card which is complemented by the absolutely stunning Christmas Hangings bells and baubles die.  This comes with a decorative die and a background die but I only used the decorative die in gold card to make a statement.  This paired really well with the circle dies in gold.  I have used Micro Sparkling Dust, Ice Cubes, Snow White Flower Pearls and Frosted Sugar Powder for the shaker elements to create the effort of snow.

My second card is festooned with poinsettias and lilies that frames baubles, garlands  and the very cute images from the motif sheet.

My final card is a non-traditional pink and gold card featuring red and gold poinsettias on a pink and gold combination.

More Christmas ideas from CTMH

Welcome

This is my last post for the year featuring Christmas craft ideas seeing as it is Christmas Day on Thursday.

I have been inspired by Joy Tracey to make my version of her Artiste ornament.  For the instructions please click here for a link to her blog and the video that she has made to show how this is done.  My version has used Glacier and White Daisy cardstock and I have finished off with a silver sequin and a licorice epoxy bubble.  I bought the silver sparkle tulle from the local variety plus store to complete the ornament.
20141217_105840I have also made some more simple gift tags this time using the Art Philosophy cartridge to make boot shapes. The boots have been cut out with Ruby cardstock and the trims in White Daisy and Black cardstock.  It is hard to see on this photo but I have also put a piece of the white shimmer trim on the boot top for a bit of sparkle.2014-12-14 18.12.12

I also cut some White Daisy cardstock to back the boot so as to be able to write to and from on it.  I have used the stamps from the Holiday Tags stamp set and stamped the images in Ruby ink.

2014-12-14 18.12.25A hole and some slate bakers twine finished off these very quick and easy tags.

Materials used:

Cardstock – White daisy, Glacier, Ruby, Black

Inks – Ruby

Stamps – Holiday Tags

Cricut Cartridges – Art Philosophy, Artiste

Ribbon (NLA)

1 1/4 punch (available while supplies last)

Silver sequin

Licorice epoxy bubbles (NLA)

Slate bakers twine

Liquid glass

White Shimmer trim

These tags and other crafts that I make are available for sale at Gift Hutt in Lower Hutt, New Zealand.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and  may Santa bring you more craft supplies to keep you busy in the New Year!

Christmas is Coming!

Welcome back.

Today I am doing something completely different from my usual cards and/or scrapbook layouts.  Christmas is not too far away and I have been inspired by the lovely ornaments featured in the Product Launch Guide from Close to My Heart on page 44 (Aus/NZ version).

For my ornaments I have used last month’s Stamp of the Month set Scandinavian Wishes heart image and lots of different colour inks.  Here is my efforts:

Heart Christmas ornamentsThey are really easy to do and the hardest part was picking colours to stamp with.  Here is a quick tutorial for you to make your own.

1) Using the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge cut out the heart shapes at 2 inches.  I have used the fill option to fill the entire sheet and cut out 25 hearts.

Making hearts with my Cricut E22)  Stamp the heart image on four shapes.

Heart Christmas ornaments3)  I used my Fiskars trimmer scoring blade (but you can use a ruler and scoring blade or whatever you have available)  score down the middle of the heart and then fold the heart in half with the stamped image towards the middle.

Heart Christmas ornaments Heart Christmas ornaments4) On one half of a heart use a good strong glue – I have used CTMH Bonding Memories glue  which bonds really quickly and then put the 2nd heart onto it and try to get it matching as much as you can.

Heart Christmas ornaments5)   Glue the other half of the heart and place the third heart onto the ornament.

Heart Christmas ornaments6)  Glue the last two sides and place the final heart onto it and making sure that you get it as close as possible to the centre of the hearts.

Heart Christmas ornaments Heart Christmas ornaments7)  Using a piercing tool pierce a hole at the top of the hearts and then using a needle thread your string through (I have used bakers twine) and tie a knot at the base of the heart and one at the end of the twine to enable you to hang your ornament on your Christmas tree.

Heart Christmas ornaments Heart Christmas ornamentsVoila a Christmas tree ornament!

It is so easy and I hope that you can give it a go as well.
