‘Tis the Season with Amazing Paper Grace

Kia ora Koutou

I was asked recently to make some New Zealand Christmas themed Christmas cards and I thought it would be a great opportunity to use the Amazing Paper Grace Graceful Borders – Graceful Frame Maker Etched Die to create a frame for this cute kiwi on a beach scene. I was really happy with how this card turned out. And I love the cute Santa kiwi too!

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project

I am so amazed at the ingenuity of this die to create so many different frame combinations and for this card I have used the Amazing Paper Grace Graceful Borders – Graceful Fans Etched Dies to make a fan border for the image. I have also used the Amazing Paper Grace Classic Fluted Square Etched Dies to complete the frame. I have added some poinsettias and foliage from the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month November 2020 Pop up 3D Vignette Poinsettia Sleigh Etched Dies and the I have mounted the foiled sentiment from the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month November 2020 Pop up 3D Vignette Poinsettia Sleigh Etched Dies on the banner from the Amazing Paper Grace Vintage Pierced Banners Etched Dies. To finish the card I have added some sparkle on the sea and the flowers using some Diamond Stickles and to the hat with Stickles Frosted Lace and some gold pearls to the corners and flower centres.

You can see how this die works in this video that Becca Feeken has made here:

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas with Amazing Paper Grace

Kia ora Koutou

One of my favourite papercraft techniques is hot foiling and I do it a lot – particularly for sentiments. I have purchased a Better Press machine but I tend to use the plates for hot foiling instead. Amazing Paper Grace has the most beautiful and elegant hot foil plates and today I have used the Amazing Paper Grace Merry Filigree Quatrefoil Hot Foil Plate as a base for my Christmas card. I have used non-traditional colours for my card and I love the how the colour combination of pink, gold and green work with the pops of traditional red berries.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

Amazing Paper Grace Christmas Poinsettia

Kia ora Koutou

It is scarily close to Christmas now and I have another Christmas card to share with you using the Amazing Paper Grace Oval Coronet Etched Dies as a beautiful frame for a pretty poinsettia image I found on Facebook. I have used vellum for the insert to add texture but still allow the image to show through. I have added some embellishments around the frame (listed below) and a fabulous full silver bow to finish off the card. I love the clean simplicity of this card and the red poinsettia really pops through the white and silver accents of the card.

‘Tis the Season With Amazing Paper Grace

Kia ora Koutou

Gosh we are almost into August and I can’t believe how fast this year has gone. July is nearly done but I have one more Christmas card to share with you featuring the Amazing Paper Grace Gilded Vines Glimmer Plates from The Gilded Age collection by Becca Feeken. I have been watching The Gilded Age series on TV and it is just fabulous and I love looking at all the beautiful gilded decor, gold jewellery and stunning outfits. So this card has been inspired by all the lavish gilding on the walls and even the ceilings. I have kept my card fairly simple and added some Christmas embellishments from the Amazing Paper Grace Holiday Label Motif dies from the Seasonal Labels Motif dies collection.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project

My card base is 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ made from white cardstock. I added a lovely texture to the top and bottom by die cutting a single decorative edge from the Amazing Paper Grace Infinity Link Border dies out of white cardstock and cutting it in half. I then foiled the background using the Amazing Paper Grace Gilded Vines Glimmer Plates using Aura foil and trimmed the card down and matted it with gold mirror card before adding it to the base card using some Fun Foam.

For the sentiment I used the sentiment from the Christmas Damask Jubilee Hot Foil Plate Set and foiled it on white cardstock before using the rectangle die from the Amazing Paper Grace All Occasions Stamp and Die set before adding it to the centre of the decorative background.

I die cut two frames using the Amazing Paper Grace Elegant Twist Rectangle die set – one from gold mirror cardstock and on from white cardstock. These were stacked together and added around the sentiment as shown.

I then made a range of Christmas embellishments using the dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Holiday Label Motif dies out using a variety of colours and also some accents in gold mirror cardstock. These embellishments were added to the top left and bottom right of the card as shown. I also added glossy accents to the berries for more dimension and shine.

To finish the card I added some gold pearls to the bottom left, top right and around the sentiment as shown.

Nautical Christmas Card

Kia ora Koutou

Today I have another downunder Christmas card to share with you featuring a nautical theme with a kiwi twist. When I saw the stunning Fair Winds Collection by Dawn Woleslagle at Spellbinders I had to get this set as it was perfect for masculine cards, for the sailing enthusiasts as well as Christmas cards to send overseas. For the Christmas cards I also stamped, coloured and fussy cut some pohutakawa flowers to add a kiwi flavour to the cards I sent overseas. The pohutakawa tree is a New Zealand native tree that blooms with red flowers at Christmas time and is known as the New Zealand Christmas tree. I have also added some background with the Heartfelt Creations Sea Breeze Collection papers and coordinating dies. Of course I had to add some glitter to the flowers and sea to add some sparkle. Watch out for more Christmas cards to come for Christmas in July celebrations.

Meri Kirihimete Amazing Paper Grace

Kia Ora Koutou

Welcome Back to my blog and since it is Christmas in July I have a very summery Christmas card to share with you that I made last year and never had the chance to post. This card was very quick and easy to made using some gorgeous dies from Amazing Paper Grace to frame the Santa image which I got free from a Facebook page.

My Project

I have used the Amazing Paper Grace Fluted Classic Square Dies and the Postage Edge Square Dies for the frames and decorated it with a poinsettia and foliage using dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month November 2020 Pop up 3D Vignette Poinsettia Sleigh Dies.

The sentiment is Te Reo (Maori) and has been printed on the computer and then die cut with the small rectangle from the Amazing Paper Grace Giving Occasions Stamp and Die and matted with some red cardstock and added to the bottom of the frame with some gold pearls.

It is hard to see in the photo but I added some Crystal Ultrafine glitter to the sea and Santa to give the card some sparkle.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

A Kiwi Amazing Paper Grace Christmas

Kia ora Koutou

I live in New Zealand and we have warm Christmases here and snowy Christmas scenes are not relevant, so I have found some fabulous free A1 generated kiwi Christmas images from a Facebook group to create some kiwi Christmas cards. I love this sweet kiwi on the beach surrounded by our New Zealand Christmas trees – the pohutakawa, and created a quick and simple Christmas card using layering of coloured cardstock and a lovely frame die. The Amazing Paper Grace Richelieu Square Etched dies was perfect to frame the image and I added some gorgeous red poinsettia and green foliage with a simple Merry Christmas die to complete the card.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project

My card base is a top folding 6″ x 6″ white base card. I have layered white and red cardstocks to create the background with the top matted red and white layer raised with fun foam.

I die cut the raised frame using the dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Richelieu Square Etched diesusing white and red cardstocks and then added the image to the centre of the frame. To get the raised effect of the frame I die cut three frames out of white cardstock and adhered it over the red base.

I added glossy accents to the light bulbs and glitter to the sea, flowers and background.

I die cut the postage image using the die from the Amazing Paper Grace Christmas Postman Etched Dies out of dark grey pearl cardstock and adhered it over the top left corner to provide a base for the flowers.

The poinsettias and foliage are from the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month November 2020 Pop up 3D Vignette Poinsettia Sleigh Etched Dies and have been die cut out of red and green cardstocks. To add a bit of shimmer to the flowers I have used Lisa Horton Cloud 9 Interference ink Crimson Cheer to the edges of the petals and Lisa Horton Cloud 9 Interference ink Festive Fir to the foliage and green petals before assembling them with a gold pearl in the centres of the flowers.

To complete the card I added the sentiment from the Amazing Paper Grace Make a Scene Silent Night Etched Dies set. To get the dimension for the sentiment I die cut three sentiments out and stacked them together before adding it to the base of the image as shown.

I am late posting this card because I had an incident last week and have had to rest and also be careful with using devices and my computer for a few days. I am slowly starting to feel a little better but I will make sure I do get rest when I need it.

Today’s card is a very quick and easy card using just three die sets the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month July 2021 Home Sweet Home with a sentiment from the Amazing Paper Grace Fluted Classics Rectangles Dies and small holly embellishments from the Amazing Paper Grace Sugarplum Tweets Dies and festive paper for a more traditional Christmas card. This card is a standard size 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and folds flat for easy posting.

Honey Bee Stamps Falala Christmas Card

Kia ora Koutou

Gee I can’t believe we are into September already and Christmas is coming whether we like it or not! Today I have used the Honey Bee Stamps Buzzworthy Challenge on Facebook to get some more Christmas Cards done. The challenge was to make a project using stripes and they were perfect for my cards.

For my card I have created a top folding 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card out of white cardstock. I made the stripes for the background using the Pink Fresh Studio Plaid Press Plate on my Glimmer machine using Prism foil on Hammermill cardstock for a more holographic finish to the background. This was trimmed to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and matted to silver cardstock before adhering to the card front. I added a circle frame using the Amazing Paper Grace Hemstitch Oval dies – I have embossed the white circle die cut and added a silver shadow before adding to the top half of the card using some foam strips for more dimension.

I added foliage to the bottom half of the circular frame using the Honey Bee Stamps:Lovely Layers – Winter Greenery Die set – branches, pine leaves, and mistletoe.

The gorgeous poinsettia is from the Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – Poinsettia Honey Cuts and I have coloured the flower with pink inks before assembling together using some foam squares for more dimension and I used some silver glitter card for the centre of the poinsettias. The poinsettia was then adhered over the foliage using foam squares. The leaves were coloured with green inks and then added under the poinsettia as shown. To finish the poinsettia I have added some sparkle by using a fine tip on my adhesive bottle on the flowers and sprinkling Sparkling Dust to create some subtle sparkle without being over the top.

The robin is from the Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – Spring Birds Honey Cuts and was perched above the poinsettia on the left of the frame.

I was feeling lazy and added a sentiment from the Pink Fresh Studio Foiled Sentiments 4 Holiday Pack in silver to the top right of the frame with foam squares in the centre to keep the sentiment level. (Actually to be fair I do not have many Christmas sentiments that can be hot foiled).

To complete the card I have added some silver pearls around the sentiment and around the frame.
