Amazing Paper Grace Lacework Finery Slip-In Congrats Card

Kia Ora Koutou

I loved the Amazing Paper Grace dies by Becca Feeken since I first discovered them several years ago for their timeless, romantic and classic look which will never date. Today I have made a card using one of Becca’s earlier designs for the Die of the Month series – Lacework Finery Slip In Card. Here is a video on how Becca has made a card using the ‘slip-in’ feature of the dies. I have still used the ‘slip-in’ feature but in a different way. And I love that there are some flower dies in this set so I could create beautiful flowers for the card. This is such a pretty and feminine card that would be great for special birthdays, weddings or any celebration.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project

For my card I have made a 5″ x 7″ card base out of pink Centura Pearl cardstock. I used the outside die and the inner ‘slip’ decorative die and the two corner dies to die cut the card front. I then cut a piece of ivory cardstock 4 3/4″ x 6 3/4″ and a piece of pink pattern paper 4 5/8″ x 6 5/8″ and adhered it to the front of the ivory cardstock before slipping in inside the decorative frame. I then die cut another single decorative panel and added it to the the front of the card crossing over the other decorative panel. To hide the join I cut a strip of 1″ wide pink cardstock and adhered a strip of 5/7″ ivory cardstock and a strand of ribbon which was then added over the centre of the dies and the edges were folded over the sides of the card. I then added this front panel to the base card.

I die cut a shadow die from the Amazing Paper Grace Candlewick Oval dies out of ivory cardstock and a decorative frame out of pink cardstock and adhered them together. This was then added over the centre of the dies with foam tape.

I die cut three ‘Congrats’ sentiments from the Amazing Paper Grace Elegant Infinity dies out of pink cardstock, stacked them together and added it to the centre of the oval as shown.

I die cut leaves from the Amazing Paper Grace Cinch & Go Flowers III out of light green cardstock and adhered them to the right of the oval and over the ribbon on the left side.

I die cut the flowers from the Lacework Finery Slip-In die set out of flower shaping cardstock. The petals were coloured with pink and yellow inks and then shaped before assembling with two petals of each size. I then added pearls to the centres of the flowers and added them over the leaves on the right side and the leaves and bow on the left side.

To finish the card I added pearls to the ovals in the centre of the card and to the decorative dies and edges of the card front as shown.

Sending Love with Altenew Antique Roses

Kia ora Koutou

I have been going through my stash and having some fun with older products. I thought I would have a play with the Altenew Antique Roses layering stamps and I must admit it took some time to get back to using layering stamps after using stencils and colouring medium to colour my images. I also used different colours to what I normally use such as the purples and greys and I was happy with the outcome. I have used a mix of Pink Fresh Studio and Altenew inks to colour the roses and leaves and layered the roses using foam tape for some dimension. I used my new Altenew- Elegance Tufted Elegance 3D  Embossing Folder as a base for the flowers and layered coordinating grey and purple cardstocks that matched the inks that I used in the purple roses and grey leaves.

Wishing You All the Best

Kia ora Koutou

Today I am sharing a second card that I created for the for the Pink Fresh Studio February 2024 Challenge which was to use the following Pink Fresh Studio inks Sparkling Rose, Sunkissed, Spruce Tips, and Paradise and gold or have some hearts in your project. This colour combination is just so beautiful and I will be using it again.

For my project I have created a top folding A2 sized card. I cut another piece of white card slightly smaller and lightly stenciled the background using Turquoise ink. This was then adhered to the card front.

I then die cut circles out and added them to the front of the stenciled image – I used two outer and one inner circle to create some dimension. I ink blended some Turquoise ink to one of the inner circles and then added it to the centre of the frame.

I stamped the Magnolias stamp using WOW embossing ink and heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I then coloured the flowers and leaves using the challenge inks – Sunkissed, Sparkling Rose, Paradise and Spruce Tips. The images were die cut and layered around the circle as shown.

For the sentiment I hot foiled the sentiment in Matte Gold Foil and die cut it with the coordinating die. I die cut another two plain dies and stacked these together and adhered the sentiment to the right of the flowers using some foam tape.

I hot foiled the small butterflies with Matte Gold foil and then coloured the butterflies with the coordinating stencil using Sunkissed and Sparkling Rose inks. I then die cut the butterflies and added this butterfly to the circle above the sentiment.

To finish my card I added some gold pearls around the flowers to meet the challenge brief.

CAS Poppy Card

Kia ora Koutou

I have been slowly working on my Copic colouring over the past year and have been gradually building up my markers stock at the same time. I have been taking classes at Kit and Clowder and learning about colour combinations and also creating depth and texture with blending colours. I feel that I have finally clicking with the colouring and feel more confident in making cards and wall art with the finished images. Here I have a free image from Altenew that I have coloured with Copic makers and made a card that I can safely give to someone. All I needed to do was trim the image down and mat with black and pink cardstock for a very pretty and striking card. I also added some clear Wink of Stella to the flower and leaves.

Have a Lovely Day With Amazing Paper Grace

Kia ora Koutou

I love decorative shaped cards and today my card today is inspired by a video on YouTube showing how to make a decorative shaped card the easy way. This technique is so easy and can be used for many decorative dies that have a shadow die as well as a decorative frame. I have taken the technique a little further and created a ‘window’ card that highlights the gorgeous tag and sentiment in the inside back of the card. I have used the Amazing Paper Grace Cascading Grace die to created the shaped decorative card base and decorated with handcrafted daisies made using the Amazing Paper Grace Delightful Daisy Garden Shutters Dies and the Amazing Paper Grace Layered Daisies Dies. I have also used ink blending to create more shape and dimension to the flowers and leaves for a more realistic look. I love these layered dies – they are so quick and easy to colour and assemble and are not too dimensional and overpowering for the base card. The flowers work well with the ornate and embossed background dies really well.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project

To make my card I have cut a piece of white cardstock 10″ x 7″ and folded it in half. I then die cut a shaped card using the shadow die from the Amazing Paper Grace Cascading Grace Dies by placing it over the folded edge. I then die cut a decorative window front out of the front of the card using the decorative frame die and the inside edge die. I die cut and embossed another decorative frame using all three dies and then adhered it to the front of the card.

For the inside of the card I die cut a decorative die using just the shadow die and the decorative die and adhered it to the inside back of the card. I then got the left over inside panel of the front decorative die and using the edge die as a stencil blended ight green and pink inks before adding it to the centre of the card. I stamped the sentiment to a scrap piece of white cardstock out of Tuxedo Black ink and die cut it out with the large tag. I die cut another plain large tag, stacked them together with the sentiment on top and then added them to the middle of the coloured panel.

I die cut the daisy dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Delightful Daisies Garden Shutter dies and the small daisy dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Layered Daisy Dies out of white cardstock. I coloured the flowers with Lemon Whip, Cherry Blossom, Peony and Begonia inks and the stems and calyx with Sage and Eucalyptus inks. These were shaped and assembled before adding to the bottom right and top left of the card as shown. I have used foam squares on some leaves and flowers for extra dimension.

To finish I added Wink of Stella to the flowers and white pearls to the decorative die.

Amazing Paper Grace Pearls and Lace with Love

Kia ora Koutou

I have another soft and romantic card full of pearls and lace to share with you today featuring the beautiful Amazing Paper Grace March 2022 Die of the Month – Bella Ovalette. I have been going through my stash of papers and dies and found this absolutely beautiful pearl embossed paper that my daughter had bought for me from Sydney many years ago. It is such a soft and pretty silver/blue colour and was perfect as the background to the stunning dies. Everything is included in this Bella Ovalette die set including the flowers and leaves and all I needed to add extra was the sentiment from Beccy’s Place. Lots of different layers on top of the embossed paper makes this card so ‘amazing’ in real life.

Dies were provided by Amazing Paper Grace for today’s creations.

My Project

For my card I have made a top folding 5″ x 7″ card out of white cardstock. I trimmed the blue/silver paper to 4 7/8″ x 6 7/8″ and added it to the front of the card.

I die cut the one decorative base out of white cardstock using the large decorative frame and then die cut two decorative frames using the decorative frame and the inner rectangle frame from white cardstock. These were stacked together and then added to the card front. I then die cut 4 decorative rectangles using the plain rectangle die, the middle decorative die and the inner plain die out of white cardstock. I stacked these together and added them inside the larger decorative frame.

I die cut two inner decorative accents using the small accent die and the circle die and adhered them together.

Using the decorative accent as a guide for placement I stamped the sentiment from Beccy’s Place on one of the discarded inner panels from the rectangle dies using Tuxedo Black ink. This stamped inner panel was then added to the inside of the rectangle frames.

I die cut the flowers out of soft flower shaping paper and coloured one set with light blue ink and the other set with light yellow inks. After spritzing the petals with water I shaped them using a small and medium ball stylus on foam mats. Once dry these were arranged on the bottom right and the top left of the rectangle frame as shown.

I die cut the leaves from the light green cardstock and added them around the flowers as shown.

To finish I added pearls to the flower centres and on the die cuts.

Have a Wonderful Day with Roses

Kia ora Koutou

I love love love roses and when I saw the new Crafters Companion Vintage Rose 3D Embossing Folder – Timeless Rose I had to get it and it is just gorgeous. I have coloured the image with Copic Markers and then added a stunning frame to showcase the beautiful roses. Of course I had to add some cute butterflies made from Memory Box dies that I have had for many years. I really love this sentiment as it is so versatile and can be used for so many different occasions.

My Project

I have created a side folding 5″ x 7″ card base out of white cardstock. I then cut a piece of X-Press It paper 4 3/4″ x 6 3/4″ and embossed it using the Timeless Rose embossing folder. I coloured the roses and background with Copic markers and adhered it to the card front.

I cut a piece of white cardstock 5″ x 7″ and die cut the frame using the Nos. 3 and 4 dies from the Heartfelt Creations Fancy Classic Oval Dies. I wanted to keep the decorative frame see through so I cut a piece of acetate 4 3/4″ x 6 3/4″ and adhered it behind the whole frame. I then added the decorative frame to the acetate inside the outer frame and cut the inner oval out using scissors (I found it much easier doing it that way). To complete the decorative frame I have die cut the outer decorative frame from gold cardstock and added it to the frame as shown. The frame was then added to the front of the card with foam strips.

I heat embossed the sentiment from the Heartfelt Creations Heartfelt Sentiments on black cardstock using gold embossing powder. I then die cut the sentiment out using a die from the Altenew Featured Sentiments Die Set and added it to the front of the roses with foam strips.

I die cut the butterflies out using Lawn Fawn Pearlescent Paper and Heartfelt Creations Luxe Gold Cardstock. These were assembled and added to the card front.

To finish I have added gold pearls around the frame.

Magnolias Just For You

Kia ora koutou

This year I decided it was time to get started learning how to use alcohol markers and started doing classes with Alyce Keegan at Kit and Clowder. I have rediscovered my love for colouring and love love colouring with Copic marker as they are easier to hold in my arthritic hands. I am still building up my stock of markers and also learning new colour blends so I have used one of the colour blends from the Birds in Bloom Marker class. I do love this sweet stamp set from Beccy’s Place that I recently purchased through Krafters Cart and I couldn’t wait to have a go with colouring this. And I was very happy with the result.

I struggle with cutting up images that I have spent time colouring in but in this case I did not lose much and I love how the branch of magnolias look like it is coming from the side of the card and looking out over the window to the sky behind. The card front has been inspired by Dawn at WPlus9Design on YouTube.

My project:

I have created a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ top folding card base. I cut a piece of white cardstock 5 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and scored at 1/4″, 1/5″, 4 3/4″ and 5″ along the 5 1/4″ side. I cut a piece of white cardstock 4″ x 5 1/4: and using the cloud stencil from Waffle Flower I stenciled some clouds using Tumbled Glass ink. This was then added to the front of the card.

I die cut the circle out of the centre of the card using a circle die from the Amazing Paper Grace Fluted Classics circle die. I then embossed using the Honey Bee Stamps Dogwood 3D embossing folder and then I then folded the edges using my bone folder. I die cut a circular fluted frame using the Amazing Paper Grace Circle Fluted Classics die and added it around the circle. I added a piece of acetate behind the circle window with some double sided tape. To complete the front of the card I adhere the edges to the edges of the card front.

I stamped the images from Beccy’s Place Magnolia stamp set on Neenah cardstock in Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured the images with Copic Markers and then die cut the images out using the coordinating dies. I die cut another set of blank dies and adhere the coloured images to these. I adhere the branches around the circle and trimmed the single branch to fit the card front. I added some Wink of Stella to the flowers for some subtle shine.

Finally I stamped the sentiment from Beccy’s Place Magnolia set on black cardstock with Wow embossing ink and heat embossed with white cardstock. I trimmed the sentiment and adhered it to the bottom right of the card with some foam tape. (I would stamp the sentiment before embossing the front next time). And then I added some clear iridescent gems around the flowers and sentiment.
