Sending Hugs with Pink Fresh Studio

Kia Ora Koutou

I have another card to share with you today featuring gorgeous blue roses on a pretty decorative die background for the January 2022 Challenge at Pink Fresh Studio. Once again I am using the flower prompt from March last year as I love my flowers so much!

For my 5″ x 7″ card I have gone with a white on white background as a base for the hero of this card – the Garden Roses set of layering stencils and dies. I thought I might change it up this time and stencil the roses and not stamp the image. And who says that roses have to be pink!

I have used the Amazing Paper Grace Annabelle’s Trousseau decorative dies to create a frame for the roses and I have added depth to this frame using foam strips. In the centre I have used the Stampin Up Tufted embossing folder (now retired) to create texture for the sentiment.

I have coloured the roses using the Morning Sky set of inks and the leaves have been coloured with the Garden Stroll set of inks. I love how these colours compliment each other so well. After die cutting with the coordinating die I have trimmed the roses and adhered to the top and bottom with foam tape so they flowers look like they are floating!

I have hot foiled the sentiment from the Perfect Sentiments hot foil plate in gold foil and the ‘sending hugs’ sentiment fitted perfectly in the frame.

To finish I have added some pearl accents for a touch of elegance.

I think it is so important to keep exploring different products and techniques to improve your crafting skills and grow as an artist!
