Amazing Paper Grace June Die of the Month Blog Hop – Victorian Splendor Slimline

What’s better than one world?  Well, of course, it’s the best of both worlds!  Today we are introducing a new Slimline Die that is part of an A7 Card Front – we call it an all-in-one.  Who knew that slimline could look so feminine – welcome the slim new Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month for June 2021, Victorian Splendor Slimline.


Dies for my creations today were supplied by Amazing Paper Grace.

Our inspiration is always being able to get the most out of a die set and this one scores high on the bar for functionality and feminine appeal.  If you can imagine a “Card Creator” type of die that has an inset Slimline, a decorative inset Border, and a sentiment label that could all be used in a Card Front – then you’d be looking at Victorian Splendor Slimline.  It has A2 and A7 elements.  It functions as a Card Front and pretends to be a slimline – all in one.  

Here are some ideas that might inspire you to use pieces of the set:
1.  Pull the mini-sized slimline out and use it separately. 
2.  Inlay the border at the bottom and top of a landscape A7 Card. 
3.  Create a tall gatefold by folding in the border panel on two cuts of the A7 card front.

There are 10 dies included in the Victorian Splendor Slimline.

My Project Today using Victorian Splendor Slimline.

I have made a card with a coordinating basket with the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month – Victorian Splendor. For my card I have used a pretty pink paper as a background to the lacy dies. I have also used pearls to highlght the decorative dies and in the centres of the flowers.

I have made a simple box 3″ x 2″ x 2″ and the handle has been made using the gorgeous diamond flower die. This has been finished with small flowers, pearls and a white satin ribbon.

Designer Tip:

Adding a pretty colour behind the gorgeous dies helps to highlight the pretty dies.

Sparkling butterflies are fluttering around the garden flowers in this birthday card I made for inspiration Wednesday at Heartfelt Creations.

Instructions:

Cut a piece of Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper 10” x 7”, score at 5” along the long side and fold to create a base card of 5” x 7”. Cut a piece of blue pattern paper 5” x 7” and adhere to the front of the card. Cut a piece of white cardstock 4 5/8” x 6 5/8” and adhere to the front of the card. Cut a piece of pale blue pattern paper 4 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ and adhere to the front of the white cardstock. Die cut the outer decorative frame out of white cardstock using the No. 1 and No. 2 dies from the HCD2-7339 Regal Lattice Gateway Die set and adhere to the front of the card with thin foam strips. Die cut the inner lattice die out of white cardstock using the No. 2 and No. 3 dies from the HCD2-7339 Regal Lattice Gateway Die set and adhere to the centre of the frame.

Stamp the leaf and flower images from the HCPC-3952 Floral Butterfly Accents Cling Stamp Set in Jet Black ink on Iris cardstock. Colour with Zig Clean Colour Brush Markers and die cut with the coordinating dies. Add Crystal Ultrafine Glitter using clear gloss gel medium. Trim the ends and add the leaf and flowers to the centre of the frame over the lattice as shown.

Die cut a tag from the HCD1-7203 Ornamental Tags Die set out of white cardstock. Trim the long decorative edge and adhere to the base of the flowers as shown with foam squares. Stamp the sentiment from the HCPC-3843 Special Birthday Sentiments Cling Stamp set in Jet Black ink on white cardstock and die cut with the inner die from the tag and adhere it to the front of the tag.

Stamp the butterfly images from the HCPC-3953 Small Floral Butterfly Cling Stamp Set and HCPC-3951 Large Floral Butterfly Cling Stamp Set set in Jet Black ink on Iris cardstock. Colour with Zig Clean Colour Brush Markers and die cut with the coordinating dies. Add Ultrafine glitter using clear gloss gel medium to the smaller butterflies and with 3D Crystal lacquer to the larger butterfly. Adhere to the card as shown.

To finish, add pearls to the lattice and corners as shown.
