Welcome back to my second post for Dress My Craft this month. This time I have made a gorgeous heart from a SVG from Dreaming Tree decorated with gorgeous handmade flowers using a range of flower dies from Dress My Craft.
Here is a link to my YouTube channel for a video on how I have made all these flowers and decorated the heart:
Today for Inspiration Wednesday for Heartfelt Creations I have two projects in two posts. First up is this umbrella that I have created using an SVG file from svgcuts.com.
Materials Used:
HCD1-7170 Lush Lilac Die
HCD1-7171 Lush Lilac & Umbrella Die
HCD1-7172 Lush Lilac Scroll & Cage Die
HCPC-3816 Lush Lilac Cling Stamp
HCPC-3817 Lush Lilac & Umbrella Cling Stamp Set
HCPC-3818 Lush Lilac Scroll & Notes Cling Stamp Set
Die cut the umbrella using the SVG file on the machine using the American Crafts purple cardstock and the patterned paper. Assemble according to the instructions. An extra layer was added for more strength to the umbrella handle.
Stamp two large lilac spray image from the HCPC-3818 Lush Lilac Scroll & Notes Cling Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock. Sponge the leaves with Bamboo Leaves inks and use the Dove Blender pen to colour the flowers with the Purple and Lavender inks and die cut with the coordinating dies. Shape lightly and adhere to the back of the umbrella on either side of the handle.
Stamp several small lilac spray images from the HCPC-3816 Lush Lilac Cling Stamp set in Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock. Sponge the leaves with Bamboo Leaves inks and use the Dove Blender pen to colour the flowers with the Purple and Lavender inks and die cut with the coordinating dies. Adhere to the umbrella handle (leaving room for the ribbon bow) and around the larger lilac spray images on the back of the umbrella.
Stamp three large lilac spray images from the HCPC-3817 Lush Lilac & Umbrella Cling Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock. Sponge the leaves with Bamboo Leaves and colour the flowers with Purple and Lavender inks with the Dove Blender Pen. Die cut with the coordinating dies, shape and adhere to the top of the front of the umbrella as shown.
Stamp the lilacs from the HCPC-3816 Lush Lilac Cling Stamp in Purple ink, sponge with the Purple ink and die cut with the corresponding die. Shape the lilacs with the HCFB1-466 Lush Lilac Mold kit and adhere the lilacs to large sprays on the front of the umbrella, the long and small lilac sprays on the inside of the umbrella and up the umbrella handle. Add Crystal Clear glitter to the lilacs with Glue Gloss
Cut the tags from the patterned paper and adhere to the umbrella handle with twine. To finish make a double bow with organza and purple ribbon using the bow maker and adhere to the handle as shown. Add pearls around the front as shown.
Today is Inspiration Wednesday and I would like to share with you a creation that I have been thinking about for some time but couldn’t figure out how to make it work. I decided to go ahead with it and see how it went and I was able to finish it with the help of my work colleague Beth Perry. She gave me the idea of using an ice block stick to make the cup float over the saucer. It worked perfectly!

Paint the canvas with the Vintage paint. Cut a piece of patterned paper 7” x 7” and adhere to the canvas. Cut another panel 6” x 6” and adhere to the canvas and seal with the decoupage adhesive.
Cut the cup and saucer using the SVG out of the Centura Pearl cardstock. Cut the decorative pieces from the Classic Petunia Paper Collection and adhere to the cup and saucer. Seal with the decoupage glue. Adhere the saucer to the canvas with Dries Clear glue. To create the floating cup partially break an iceblock stick in three and strengthen the breaks with the hot glue. Adhere the top of the stick to the inside of the cup and the bottom to the saucer using the hot glue.
To make the petunias stamp the images from the HCPC-3786 Large Classic Petunia stamp and the HCPC-3785 Small Classic Petunia stamp sets in Dark Peony ink and the leaves in Bamboo Leaves ink. Sponge the centres out of the flowers with Berrylicious and Dark Peony inks and die cut using the coordinating dies, and shape using the Deluxe Flower Shaping kit. Sponge the leaves with New Sprout ink and die cut using the coordinating dies. Sponge the edges of the leaves with Bamboo Leaves and then shape using the Deluxe Flower Shaping kit. Assemble the flowers on the leaves using the Dries Clear glue and adhere to the display with the hot glue gun.
