I love making cards with birds, flowers and butterflies and the Honey Bee Stamps Lovely Layers are just perfect for me because they do amazing birds, flowers and butterflies for me to use! Once all the dies are cut and the layers are put together it does not take that long to make the card which makes me happy. I love using sentiments that suit all occasions and this sentiment is just so cheery and sweet.
I am sure that whoever gets this card will be cheered up with the cute bird with the bird’s nest and the gorgeous Dogwood flowers on a gorgeous texture background.

Here is my second card for the Honey Bee Stamps Buzzworthy Challenge on Facebook. The challenge for this month is to use stripes and I have made another Christmas card that is so festive with the traditional colours of gold, reds and greens with a diagonal stripe in red sparkles
I have hot foiled the Pink Fresh Studio Diagonal Plaid Press Plate in red glitter foil for the striped background. I have also hot foiled plain cardstock with the same red glitter foil and the Aura foil and die cut the bells, the ribbon and the berries from this coloured card. The bells really sparkle and all the gold is so shiny and the decorative elements harmonise well together. The matted layer of gold behind the striped layer is also hot foiled using the Aura foil and was left after die cutting the gold frame out.
I have used the Honey Bee Stamps Pierced Fancy Flakes A2 Cover Plate on white cardstock and die cut it out with the medium plain edge die from the Pink Fresh Studio Notched Corner dies. For the frame I have hot foiled the Pink Fresh Studio Notched Corner dies with Aura foil and then die cut a frame with the coordinating dies. This was added to the pierced white base with foam tape for dimension.
Once the bells and the bow had been assembled I added them to the top left corner of the frame using foam tape. I then added foliage cut from various green and brown cardstocks plus the red berries using the Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – Winter Greenery die set over the top of the bells as shown.
The bird has come from the Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – Spring Birds and is nestled among the greenery.
The sentiment is from the Pink Fresh Studio Foiled Sentiments 4 Holiday Pack and has been added to the card using foam tape.
To make the red sparkles I used a red Copic marker to colour clear sparkles which were then added to the card around the sentiment and on the bow for extra sparkle.
Gee I can’t believe we are into September already and Christmas is coming whether we like it or not! Today I have used the Honey Bee Stamps Buzzworthy Challenge on Facebook to get some more Christmas Cards done. The challenge was to make a project using stripes and they were perfect for my cards.
For my card I have created a top folding 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card out of white cardstock. I made the stripes for the background using the Pink Fresh Studio Plaid Press Plate on my Glimmer machine using Prism foil on Hammermill cardstock for a more holographic finish to the background. This was trimmed to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and matted to silver cardstock before adhering to the card front. I added a circle frame using the Amazing Paper Grace Hemstitch Oval dies – I have embossed the white circle die cut and added a silver shadow before adding to the top half of the card using some foam strips for more dimension.
I added foliage to the bottom half of the circular frame using the Honey Bee Stamps:Lovely Layers – Winter Greenery Die set – branches, pine leaves, and mistletoe.
The gorgeous poinsettia is from the Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – Poinsettia Honey Cuts and I have coloured the flower with pink inks before assembling together using some foam squares for more dimension and I used some silver glitter card for the centre of the poinsettias. The poinsettia was then adhered over the foliage using foam squares. The leaves were coloured with green inks and then added under the poinsettia as shown. To finish the poinsettia I have added some sparkle by using a fine tip on my adhesive bottle on the flowers and sprinkling Sparkling Dust to create some subtle sparkle without being over the top.
The robin is from the Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – Spring Birds Honey Cuts and was perched above the poinsettia on the left of the frame.
I was feeling lazy and added a sentiment from the Pink Fresh Studio Foiled Sentiments 4 Holiday Pack in silver to the top right of the frame with foam squares in the centre to keep the sentiment level. (Actually to be fair I do not have many Christmas sentiments that can be hot foiled).
To complete the card I have added some silver pearls around the sentiment and around the frame.
I was recently asked to do a birthday card for someone special who loved bears in a forest and purple chrysanthemums. I had an idea to do a diorama card that showed a bear in a forest surrounded by trees and woodland animals and I found this design for a handbag style diorama card on YouTube here that had been designed by Sam Calcott from Mixed Up Crafts. This fitted perfectly with what I was aiming to achieve although I did add some extra dimension and depth inside the diorama where I added some trees to create more of a forest feel and of course I had to add lots of sparkly flowers and butterflies and little creatures to further embellish the scene.
I have used a mix of mainly Amazing Paper Grace and Honey Bee Stamps dies to create this card and used a totally different colour scheme of kraft, teals and purples to what I would normally do but it came together very well. I purchased the bear and some of the woodland animals images from Etsy and they worked in well with the different flowers, trees, grass and animal dies to create the look of a forest.
Lots of shine and sparkle were added with glitter, clear sparkles, glitter paper and Stickles as this reflected on the recipient who is a lovely, bright and bubbly person and a joy to be around.
I know this card will always be treasured and I enjoyed putting all my love and energy into make this a very special birthday keepsake.
(Apologies for the photos – they were taken quickly and in poor light and it was really difficult to show how gorgeous this card really was.)

I enjoy creating beautiful flowers using the Honey Bee Stamps Lovely Layers dies and the Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – Mum Honey Cuts is just gorgeous and so easy to put together. This card has been created for the August 2024 Honey Bee Stamps/Buzzworthy Challenge on Facebook which is all about sparkle. My card is all about sparkle and shine with glitter paper, sparkly gems and glitter on the flowers and leaves.
To create my card I have created a top folding 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card out of white cardstock. I watched an interesting video by Jennifer McGuire on how to use vellum in different ways so I die cut the Honey Bee Stamps Cover Plate Burlap die using vellum and then coloured it with some pale green ink to create my background for the gorgeous purple ‘Mums’. I love the soft finish of the vellum that contrasts with the strong vibrant purple flowers.
To create a focal point for the flowers and sentiment I have added a frame in purple glitter paper paper which also coordinates with the purple flowers. I die cut an extra plain frame out of white cardstock and glued it behind the purple frame for some extra dimension to the frame.
The flowers and leaves have been coloured with Copic markers and I assembled it using the instructions and used some foam squares for more dimension and depth with the flowers. For the sparkle I have used the Bearly Art glue to add some dots of glue on the flowers and leaves and then dusted some Sparkling Dust to create the shine.
To finish the card I have added a sentiment from the Honey Bee Stamps Celebrating You Stamp and Die Set that was stamped in dark purple ink on white cardstock before being die cut with the coordinating die. I die cut more plain sentiments and stacked them together with the stamped sentiment on top and then added it over the frame with foam tape to keep the sentiment level over the frame.
To complete the sparkle I have added some Pink Fresh Studio Gems – Glacier around the flowers, frame and sentiment.

Today I have a card made for a very special person. She loves yellow and purple and was an avid gardener and taught me so much about gardening although I definitely do not have green fingers!! Her gardens were a riot of colour with the most amazing flowers including irises. This card is also my submission for the Honey Bee Stamps Buzzworthy Challenge for sparkly cards on Facebook.
The Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – Iris Honey Cuts were perfect for this card. The irises look so real and are very easy to assemble even without the instructions. I have used purple and yellow inks to colour the irises and then added some yellow pollen to the centre of the flowers and some Ultrafine Crystal Glitter on the outside of the flowers for some sparkle. The leaves have been coloured with green inks before assembling with the flowers.
For the background to the flowers and foliage I have embossed white cardstock using the Honey Bee Stamps 3D Embossing Folder – Sandie’s Garden which is just lovely layered with purple glitter cardstock.
The background foliage are leaves from the Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – Winter Greenery Honey Cuts which have been die cut from a light green cardstock and ink blended with green ink.
No garden is complete without bees and I have used the gorgeous bee from the Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – Bugs Honey Cuts made from black and yellow cardstocks. The wings have been die cut out of vellum, coloured with a pale purple alcohol marker and then finished with some Perfect Pearls – Pearl for a luminescent finish.
The ‘With Love’ sentiment is from the Amazing Paper Grace With Love Regalia Etched dies and has been die cut out of purple glitter cardstock and stacked with another two layers of white dies before adding to the top right of the card. I have stamped the sentiment from the Honey Bee Stamps Mini Messages Stamps in dark purple ink on white cardstock and then die cut with the coordinating die. This was then matted with purple glitter cardstock and then added to the centre of the sentiment die with some foam squares.

I really loved colouring this image from Honey Bee Stamps Everything Beautiful Stamp set and thought I would try a different colour combination of yellow and pink. I am still getting to know the Copic colours and combinations and this was a good lesson using colours and also to practice light sources from classes I have taken from Kit and Clowder.
My Project:
For my card I have created a top folding 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2 base card from white cardstock. I have die cut both the top and bottom plates using the Honey Bee Stamps Delicate Daisy Top and Bottom cover plates. I ink blended some green ink on the bottom cover plate before adding some green cardstock behind the coloured card. I die cut two top cover plates and adhered them together before adding it to the front of the card.
I stamped the floral images on copic friendly paper with Tuxedo Black ink and coloured them in with Copic Markers before die cutting them with the coordinating dies. I die cut another die out of white cardstock and adhered it behind the large floral image and then added this to the front of the card with foam tape. I added the small flowers behind the main flowers as shown.
To complete the card I stamped the sentiment from the Everything Beautiful Stamp set in Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock. I die cut this out with the coordinating die plus another out of plain white card. These were stacked together with the stamped image on top and then placed over the flowers.

I have another card for the Honey Bee Stamps Buzzworthy Challenge tic-tac-toe competition. This time I have made a card for a male family member embossing folder-twine-masculine card. As soon as I saw this very cute VW van from Honey Bee Stamps I had to get it as this person used to own a VW van and has now got a VW Beetle. He is also an avid gardener and I added some leaves and foliage to create a background for the van. To fulfill the brief for the tic-tac-toe I have used the Honey Bee Stamps Burlap 3D embossing folder and added twine around the fence posts and of course the card is ‘masculine’.
For my project I have made a top folding 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card out of white cardstock. I stenciled some clouds and grass on a piece of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card and embossed it with the Burlap embossing folding before adding it to the front of the card.
I die cut the foliage and lavender from the Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – Spring Greenery die set out of green and lilac cardstock and added some green ink to change the colours before adding the foliage to the front of the card to sit behind the fence. I then die cut the fence from the Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – Barn Wood Fence out of white cardstock and coloured it with some grey ink before assembling it. I wound the twine around the posts before I adhering the fence to the card with some foam tape over the background foliage. I then added more foliage to the front of the card as well as some violets from the Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – April Showers die set.
I die cut the van from the Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – Beach Bound die set out of white and silver cardstocks and coloured it with red, yellow, black and grey inks. For the windows I lightly coloured the die cuts with light blue ink and then hot foiled it with Opal foil to create the shiny effect. I assembled the van and added it to the front of the fence with foam tape.
To finish the card I added the sweet bird from the Honey Bee Stamps: Lovely Layers – April Showers die set and a stamped and die cut sentiment from the Honey Bee Stamps: Celebrating You Stamp and Die Set.

I am enjoying entering in challenges from different paper craft companies as it helps to challenge me to go outside my comfort zone and learn and grown. Today I have a card made for a tic-tac-toe challenge on the Honey Bee Stamps | Buzzworthy Challenges Facebook Group. I have selected the Copic colouring, embossing folder and sequins row for my card today.
For my card I have coloured a piece of white cardstock randomly with Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn and Sheer Lilac Distress inks and then embossed it with the Honey Bee Stamps Embossing Folder Sandie’s Garden. I spritzed the embossed card with some Glimmer Mist and splattered some pearl watercolour before adding it to the front of the card.
I stamped the main image and the small images from the Honey Bee Stamps Everything Beautiful 6″ x 6″ Stamp set on Copic friendly paper and coloured the images with Copic markers listed below the photos. These images were then die cut with the coordinating dies before adding clear Wink of Stella and some Sparkling Dust.
I die cut a medium frame from the Pink Fresh Studio Notched Corner dies and added it to the card with foam squares. I also added a couple of single flowers under the frame – one to the top right under the frame and one to the bottom left under the frame before securing the frame to the card. I added a small label to the centre of the frame.
I added the main coloured image to the left side of the frame using foam tape to keep the image flat. I also added a couple of extra flowers behind the larger image.
I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set in black ink and die cut it with the coordinating die. I also die cut another plain die and stacked the two dies together with the stamped image on top. The sentiment was then added to the bottom right over the flowers and frame and with some foam squares for more stability.
To finish the card I added some purple sequins from my stash to complete the tic-tac-toe brief.

I started this card a while ago and it did not look right so I put it to one side for a while and then came back to it to finish it off. I love creating flowers using the Honey Bee Stamps Lovely Layers dies and after creating my base with Amazing Paper Grace dies and patterned paper from Mintay I added a riot of flowers and foliage from different Lovely Layers sets to create a paper flower garden. A garden would not be complete without birds and bees and and so I have added a couple of birds and a bee to finish this floral birthday card. Somehow all the colours seemed to work together an is reminiscent of a English country garden fill of wildflowers.
