Welcoming the Camelia Carnation Collection from Heartfelt Creations

Kia Ora and Welcome

Today sees the launch of the gorgeous Camellia Carnation Collection from Heartfelt Creations.  This is such a beautiful collection with so many colours and designs to choose from!

Beautifully ruffled in delicate layers and commonly gifted to express love, fascination, and distinction, the carnation flower is certainly recognizable and a floral garden and arrangement favorite. Thought to be one of the oldest cultivated flowers in the world, the carnation is traditionally associated with the Mother’s Day holiday, but is also known to be a wonderful choice for birthdays, weddings and just because occasions. With an outstanding reputation as a cut flower, and an amazing array of colors and sizes, it is no wonder that the carnation flower remains so popular today! Heartfelt Creations invites you to celebrate the beauty and gentle humbleness of the carnation with the Camelia Carnation Collection! With a color palette of fiery reds, pastel pinks, sunset orange tones, and lush hues of greens, the gorgeous paper collection brings with it a bold but feminine feel. Filled with attractive carnations clusters, exquisite flower gardens, and decorative lace like details, this pretty paper collection is sure to become a perennial favorite. Two cling stamp sets and coordinating dies come together to create enamoring and realistic carnation blossoms with delicately illustrated details and varying sized petals ideal for assembling full sized carnation flowers to charming mini versions, while a third cling stamp set lends itself perfectly to layering and creating dimensional carnation clusters. So join with us as we celebrate and give recognition to the traditional, but somewhat overlooked and under praised carnation flower!

For the launch I have made a card using a shadow box which is so much fun.

Assemble the shadow box and cut a piece of patterned paper featuring the birdcage and butterflies in the corner 4 ½” x 3 ¼” and adhere to the base of the shadow box.  Cut 2 pieces of ½” x 4 ½”  and 2 pieces of ½” x 3 ¼” and adhere around the sides of the card.  Cut a piece of patterned paper 4 1/2” x 3 ¼” and die cut the centre out using the HCD2-750 Cut Mat Create Die 1B die and adhere to the front of the card.

Die cut 4 large border dies from the Sweetheart Border dies from white cardstock.  Adhere two together and adhere to the side of the box.  Repeat with the other two die cuts on the other side.  Die cut two semicircular medallions in white cardstock and adhere together before placing at the top of the card.  Cut another Sweetheart Border die and trim the lace edge off and adhere under the shadow box.

Stamp the cage image from the HCPC-3718 Sugar Hollow Bungalow stamp in Dark Brown ink on white cardstock and colour the flowers with the prismacolour pencils.  Lightly sponge the cage with gold stamp paint using a damp sponge.  Adhere to the front right of the shadow box.

Die cut the leaf flourishes from the HCD2-751 Cut Mat Create Die 2A from the green cardstock.  Trim and adhere around the cage and the bottom right of the shadow box.

To make the flowers stamp the images from the HCPC-3806 Small Carnation Stamp in Morocco and Rose Coral inks on white cardstock and die cut with the coordinating dies.  Sponge the orange flowers with the Persimmon ink and the coral flowers with Mango Madness ink.  Shape using the Basic Flower Shaping molds, shape into a cup shape and allow to dry.  Assemble with two large petals and one smaller petals.  Cut the ends of the stamens and insert them into the centres of the flowers with Dries Clear Glue.  Adhere around the cage and sides of the shadow box as shown.

To make the leaves stamp the images from the HCPC-3806 Small Carnation Stamp in Bamboo Leaves ink on white cardstock.  Sponge the leaves with Lime Pastel ink and die cut with the coordinating die.  Sponge the edges with the Bamboo Leaves ink.  Shape with the Deluxe flower shaping kit and adhere around the flowers.

To make the butterfly stamp the image from the HCPC-3650 Butterfly Medley Stamp set in Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock.  Colour in with the prismacolour pencils and die cut with the coordinating die.  Add 3D Crystal Lacquer and sprinkle with the Crystal glitter and leave to set.  Shape and adhere to the front of the cage as shown.

Cut out the sentiment from the paper collection and adhere to the top of the shadow box as shown.
