Birthday Hoot

Kia Ora and Welcome Back

Here is my second post for the Heartfelt Creations blog today using the new Art Foam paper.  I have used three different collections making this card today.  The paper and sentiment is from the Classic Petunia collection, the owl and the cage from the Sugar Hollow collection and the flowers are from the Flowering Dogwood collection.  The Flowering Dogwood flowers are so easy to make with the Art Foam paper.

For more tips on creating with the foam paper & stamens, watch the tutorial at https://youtu.be/Oma6ctVmUD0.

Instructions:

Cut a piece of white cardstock at 8 ½” x 5 ½”, score at 4 ¼” and fold to create a base card of 4 ¼” x 5 ½”.  Cut a piece of patterned paper 4 ¼” x 5 1/2” and adhere to the front of the card at the edges only.  Die cut the oval out of the front of the card using the largest cutting edge of the HCD1-7156 Eyelet Oval & Basis Small die set.  Adhere the patterned oval paper to the inside of the card.  Die cut the eyelet oval frame from the pink patterned paper using the HCD1-7157 Eyelet Oval & Basics Large Die and the largest plain die from the HCD1-7156 Eyelet Oval & Basis Small die set and adhere around the edge of the oval.

Stamp the bird cage from the HCPC-3718 Sugar Hollow Bungalow stamp with Tuxedo Black on white cardstock.  Sponge the main cage with Toffee Crunch ink.  Colour the leaves with the Prismacolour pencils and die cut with the coordinating die.  Using a damp sponge apply the gold stamp paint lightly on the birdcage.  Adhere the birdcage to the oval on the front of the card.

To make the flowering dogwoods stamp the images from the HCPC-3773 Flowering Dogwoods Flower stamp set in Lilac Posies ink on foam paper and die cut using the coordinating die.  Colour the edges lightly with Lilac Posies and the centres with New Sprout ink.  Heat and shape using the flower shaping tools.  Adhere together with the hot glue gun.  Add Crystal Clear to the petals with the glue gloss pen.  Add the stamens to the centres and add to the top of the birdcage and to the bottom left of the birdcage as shown.

To make the leaves stamp the images from the HCPC-3773 Flowering Dogwoods Flower stamp set in Forest Green ink on foam paper and die cut with the coordinating dies. Colour with Lime Pastel ink, heat and shape using the flower shaping kit.  Adhere to the card around the flowers.

To make the owl stamp the image from the HCPC-3718 Sugar Hollow Bungalow stamp set with Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock.  Sponge the owl with Toffee Crunch and Peanut Brittle inks.  Finish colouring with the Prismacolour pencils.  Shape lightly and adhere to the front of the birdcage as shown.

Stamp the birthday sentiment from the HCPC-3785 Small Classic Petunia stamp set on the pink patterned paper. Trim and dovetail the edge.  Adhere to the card as shown.
