A White and Blue Christmas

Kia Ora and Welcome Back

Today I would like to share a couple of cards I have made using the Winter’s Eve collection from Heartfelt Creations and a new 3D embossing from Crafter’s Companion Ring out the Bells.  I love white and blue combinations for Christmas and the sparkly blue poinsettias went really well with the white Centura Pearl cardstock with a hint of silver.

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas:

  1. Cut a base card 10″ x 7″, score at 5″ along the long side to make a base card of 5″ x 7″.  Cut a piece of blue cardstock with the largest die from the Matting Basics A set and adhere it to the front of the card.
  2. Cut a piece of white with hint of silver card at 5″ x 7″ and emboss using the Ring out the Bells embossing folder.  Trim and add to the blue card.
  3. Repeat the embossing with another piece of white cardstock and trim the bells to use as an embellishment later.
  4. To make the frame stamp the image from the Window Frame stamp set in Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock and die cut with the coordinating dies.  Cut a piece of clear cardstock 3 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ and adhere behind the window.  Trim a piece of patterned paper to fit behind the window frame 3 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ and adhere behind the window.  Adhere the window to the card as shown.  Using Dries White Clear add snow along the window frame and add Frosting Powder and heat for a frosted snow look.
  5. To make the poinsettias stamp the images onto vellum with Colorbox Frost White ink and emboss with white embossing powder.  Colour on the back with the Summer Sky ink and die cut with the coordinating die.  Assemble as shown and using the Dries Clear glue on a damp sponge add the Frosting Powder and heat for a white frosted finish.  Add clear sparkles to the centres of the flowers.  Add around the window image as shown.
  6. Add the bells trimmed earlier to layer over the base embossed card.
  7. Trim the sentiment from the patterned paper and adhere under the bells as shown.
  8. To finish add the white ribbon bow with a glue dot.

I told myself that I would try to think of another word besides “Stunning”. But nothing comes to mind except “Stunning”!
Off the subject but what does Kia Ora mean?

  2. I’d been wondering the same thing as Jodi! I tried Google Translating it, but to no avail, so! Mystery solved! 🙂

Such stunning cards, Patricia. You’re right, blue and white always seem perfect together for Christmas. I think it’s because sometimes it’s a bright, sunny day with a clear blue sky after a snowfall, so they go together in my mind. I love the shade of blue you used on your cards.
