Flowering Dogwood Elegance

Welcome back

Today I am featuring another card using the Heartfelt Creations Flowering Dogwood flowers.  I love white on white simplicity with just a touch of colour and I was very pleased how it turned out.

Materials Used:

Cardstock – Bazzill white smooth, Timbrels green cardstock.

Stamps – Flowering Dogwood, Classic Message

Dies – Flowering Dogwood, Fleur Border Basics, Arianna Lace

Inks – Memento Lilac Posies, New Sprout

Embossing folder – Couture Creations A4 Tied Together

Prills – Lettuce Entertain You

Deluxe Shaping Kit

Art Glitter Ultrafine Glitter – Crystal

Krystallos Vintage Glass Glitter

Art Glitter Dries Clear

Instructions:

Cut a piece of white cardstock 10” x 7”.  Fold in half to make the base card.  For the front of the card cut a piece of white cardstock 7” x 5” and then using the lacy border from the Fleur Border Basics set with the cutting die cut the end of the cardstock as shown.  Emboss the upper card using the Tied Together embossing folder.

To make the fan die cut the smaller flower die from the Arianna Lace set and cut in half.  Die cut 4 of the small matching single pieces and adhere to the base lace die cut to create a fan.

To make the flowers stamp the flowers using Lilac Posies ink.  Sponge the centre of the flowers with the New Sprout ink and then die cut the flowers.  Softly sponge the edge of the flowers with the Lilac Posies ink.  Spritz a little water on the back of the flowers and then shape using the Deluxe Shaping Kit.  Die cut the small and large stamens in green cardstock and roll them up using the quilling tool from the Deluxe Shaping Kit.  Adhere them to the centre of the flowers.  Add glitter using the Art Glitter Dries Clear adhesive along the veins of the flowers.  Add the prills to the centre of the flowers.  Finally add the Krystallos Vintage Glass Glitter to the flowers on the outside.

For further information about making these flowers check out Emma Lou’s video here: https://www.heartfeltcreations.us/video/146/how-to-create-flowering-dogwoods-and-stamens

To make the leaves stamp using the Pistachio ink.  Sponge the leaves with New Sprout and then die cut the leaves.  Sponge the edges lightly with Pistachio ink before shaping them with the Deluxe Shaping kit.

To assemble the card adhere the embossed piece to the base card and then adhere the lace edge up against the embossed piece.  Adhere the fan on the curved edge and then add the flowers and leaves as shown.  Add the pearls to the centres of the crossed lines.  Stamp the sentiment on the bottom right hand corner.

Hi Patricia, I just found your website today. I would like to make your flowering dogwood elegance card from March, 2017. I would like to purchase the stamp “on your special day”. Of course I know it was 3 years ago you designed this card which is beautiful, so I am not sure you can help me with this. Any ideas on how to get one? Any help is appreciated. You can also bet I will be back soon. Thanks Helen Kellogg, Buffalo, NY
