Welcome to the Close to My Heart Blog Boosters New Product Blog Hop.
I have been working on my son’s photos and I am up to his school photos (he is nearly 25 years old so I am catching up!) and this new Chalk It Up Reflections range is just perfect for these photos.
I have loosely used a pattern from the Make It From the Heart Volume 2 pattern 17 for this layout and added the numbers at the bottom from the Artbooking cartridge. The notes pad has also been cut using the Artbooking cartridge. I love the fact that the Sorbet cardstock has linked the now retired Balloon Ride papers to this paper range.
This is another layout that I have adapted from the Make It From the Heart Volume 1 – pattern 16. I was fairly limited by the photos as these were professional photos taken at school and I have not been able to change them. I have used the Art Philosophy cartridge to cut the shapes either side of the large photo and then embossed them using the Dots embossing folder. The Lagoon colour was perfect to match the colours in the photos, and I love the new Flaxen base cardstock. I am not sure what other embellishments I can put on the right hand page and will look at it for a while to see what I can do. But sometimes less is more.
Materials used:
Cardstock – Lagoon, White Daisy, Sorbet, Flaxen
Embellishments – Chalk It Up Assortments, Chalk It Up Complements
Cricut Cartridges – Artbooking, Art Philosophy

I am having one of those “duh – why didn’t I think of that?” moments. I love your adaption on layout 2. I have yet to use that pattern because it was mostly photos, but now I am seeing it in a different way. Thank you so much! We get similar photos at our children’s school. I have been unsure of how to scrap them. Thanks for the inspiration.
Hi Casandra – I have the same dilemma as well and I have just realised that you don’t need to use photos all the time. Papers look really good as well. I am pleased that I have inspired you and look forward to seeing what you come up with. 🙂
Your layouts look great! And better to get them done late than not at all right! I’m quite a few years behind on my son’s school pictures also! But what little I have played with Chalk It Up, I love it for school pictures!
Thank you for the visit and lovely comment. These new papers make it so easy to go through the photos. 🙂
I’m glad I’m not the only one behind in my scrapbooking 🙂
I am glad that there are others out there like me. Thanks Tracey for the visit and comment. 🙂
Nice layouts
Thank you Nancy 🙂
What a lovely layout! (And it’s good to know I’m not the only one who is behind on scrapbooking!)
Thank you 🙂 Yes it is quite a challenge to catch up with the photos.
You girls are not as behind as I am… My sons are 32 and 28, lol! But I have almost finished the eldest son’s school album! Just a few pages to go! Next, son #2…. And I may cheat a bit and use the same layouts with different papers! Loved looking through your layouts, thanks for sharing! Susan
Thank you so much Susan for the visit and the lovely comment. Scrapbooking never ends does it. 🙂
